The year is 2016, three years ago the world and everything in it came to a halt. The cause? An unspecified cataclysm that has destroyed most of civilization and, in the intervening years, almost all life on Earth. The land is filled with ash and devoid of living animals and vegetation, cannibalism has become the norm among a minority of human survivors. Having realized that they cannot survive the oncoming winter where they are, our characters take to the south. Travelling along empty roads towards the coast, carrying their meager possessions in their backpacks and a shopping trolley. Always trying to fend against constant threats of attack, exposure, and starvation they find that the revolver they had with them from the beginning is down to it's last round, leaving suicide for them both out of the question. So, onward they travel through the decrepit shell of a World whose biosphere abandoned it, seeking salvation.
