If the shooter is on the move, hitting a moving target is even harder. The excessive Matrix-style dodging is literally maximum cheese, however. One of the few times I used a gun-heavy character was against one of Crapton's characters, though his character was more of a mobile slab of wrought iron than a purely organic creature, so I guess that character's capacity to absorb hundreds of .50 BMG rounds (as well as didge them since she was moving fairly often during the fight) was justified.

Bullets depend on the fight low tier realistic usually ends bad for the person bringing a sword to a gunfight.

I've found that when using things that involve distance and any more time than say, 10 seconds, if there is a way for someone to dodge something, even if normal reaction times and physical abilities wouldn't be able to dodge it, who cares! Dodge anyway, because no one wants to take a bullet. That's just my experience, anyway

I've only got 6 years of combat roleplay experience, sadly. Skallagrim and co was around at that time as well, if memory serves me right.

I hurled into the habit of checking for every exploitable opening available pretty early on (not to say I managed to actually do it), by repeatedly getting matched up against fucking water elementalists. Who would burst into water and reform every frickin time I hit em. Then there was the all-around "I can control every element there is, including light and darkness!" fucktards. Oh how I hated them and their "I bounce away because I have an air shield" and the "I summon a volcano and hurl fireballs at you!" - Terrible times. Much suffering.

I think I fought Rilla once though. He burned down my forest or something. Kind of hazy.

Fondest memory of a fight I have, though, was this one time I fought a wereleopard (or whatever), and she carried like.. frickin silver shurikens. Yes, SILVER shurikens. That she threw at my guy, who took it like a man, because.. you know, shurikens aren't really that deadly unless you go for the throat or something equally lethal, only to have it thrown back at her face, blinding her, followed by six posts of being impaled repedeatly by a wooden spike every time she tried to pounce, of which she kept regenerating. 'Twas good torture practise.

I dislike fighting people who 'control elements'. They almost always pull shit like that. My roleplay experiences are embarrassing so I wont talk about them, but I've dealt with pretty much every terrible cliche there is. I loathe them :c

Fan fact: bullets fall due to gravity at the same rate as if you just dropped it at your side. They just go super far because of how fast they can travel during that time (or if you aimed upwards, of course). By the time you hear the bullet it's more then likely already on the ground. Mythbusters; a fun and educational show.

Meh, people who use ranged weapons seldom have the good grace to ever even slightly miss center of mass, or the opponent's head.

Can't really expect anything less from your opponent if you're unrealistically accurate all the time.

Hence unrealistically far to hope to hit anything.

If I recall correctly, the fight basically consisted of your dude keeping his distance, while my dude slowly burned to death trying to catch you. Or something.

Best thing to shoot is always the environment.
