There was little choice for Krissie when a Guardian recruited her. Well she had a few choices but she already knew that she want3d to be a Guardian. She use to dream about dragons and flying high in the never ending sky, plus it didnt help that her mother told her stories of old battles and great Guardians. The thought of her mother pained her slightly. She missed her dearly but knew she would be proud of the path she had chosen.

Her mothers died two years earlier leaving her with her human father. He was a good man but his work took to all parts of Thresh, so she was alone.

"We are almost to the forest." Yelled Duni, her mentor. They were riding his dragon to Delbrik Forest though after getting there, she and whoever else, would have to go in alone. It was so they could truly search with asking a ton of question or look for guidance from their mentor.

Krissie had been with her mentor for about six months, and during those months he had been training her in the arts of magic, stealth, and weaponry. That was until he thought she was ready to search for her dragon in the ancient forest.

On the horizon she could see and ocean of green and knew at once that it was the fabled Delbrik Forest. She suddenly felt unsure of herself, what if she couldnt find her dragon? Or what if the dragons thought she was unworthy of being a Guardian? She didn't know what was worse.

Soon though she was standing infront of a mass of tangled and massive trees. She had never seen trees so big before, they were taller than Hirsin, that was her mentors dragon, and almost twice his wing span thick. She tried to peer deep into the forest but could only see a few meters in. It was like the forest itself wanted to keep its secrets. How was she ever going to find her dragon in there?

Just then she heard the flaps of giant wings and she look to see another Guardian landing to drop off his student. So she wasnt going alone.

In a way this releaved her, since she wouldnt have to face the unknown of the ancient forest on her own. She looked at the young male that was striding over and took notice that he was an elf. She bit her lip then, she always felt like an outsider because of her mixed race.

"Now you must trust your guts and remember the things that you learned. It can take take a few days to find your dragon, but when you do, do not fight the bound." Her mentor said calmly though the last part he said with a sternness that reminded her of him scoulding her.

She waved goodbye to her mentor as he mounted his dragon and flew away. She knew that she would see him again later, as her training would continue after she found her dragon. She looked at the young male elf and smiled, "I'm Krissie." She said before looking at the ominous dark forest infront of her. She was nervous but ready to find her dragon.

Feris was quiet as they traveled. His mentor was just as quiet. Neither had said a word since they had taken off atop his dragon, traveling across the land to the forest in which the dragons took residence. The boy watched the ground pass by at a rapid pace for a good hour before he saw the forest come into view. It was probably supposed to be a fantastic sight...but the boy couldn't find it in himself to care all that much.

The dragon slowly came down to land, landing across from the other pair. “Seems you'll have a friend to help you,” the boy's mentor spoke, smiling at him.

Feris averted his eyes, sliding down from the dragon. “I'll see you at the village, father,” he stated softly, not letting any warmth into it. This made his mentor, and father, frown.

“Right. Well, good luck,” he stated, letting his dragon turn to take off.

With the two mentors gone, Feris allowed himself to gaze upon the forest fully now. The trees were tall, foreboding even. You couldn't see far into the forest from the outside. It was just as mysterious as the future he had been thrust into. His eyes came to rest on the girl at her sudden introduction. A half-elf, from the looks of it. His father had never really cared for the half-breeds.

“Feris,” the boy introduced himself with a small nod. “Good luck in finding your partner.” Without another word to her, he took his first step into the forest, glancing around at the towering trees around him.

Krissie watched as the elf Feris walked into the forest, he almost completely disappeared and he wasnt even in all that far. She stood there for a moment wondering if her legs would move at all. Finally after some will power she jogged into the forest to catch up with Feris.

Even though this forest was home to the dragons, it was also home to other creatures. Some that were good, other bad and some that could be either. She did not want to be alone, not went her mentor told her stories of finding a few of his companions dead. This forest was a test and if you failed, you died.

The forest was thick and every tree and shrub seemed vary close togethers. The moment she stepped into the woods she felt like she was being watched, by who she did not know. She listened for a moment before picking up the sound of Feris soft foot steps. They were so soft infact that she nearly missed them.

Krissie wasted no time and hurried in the direction she heard the foot falls. She soon came up behind Feris, which was a releaf since she wasnt sure if she would find him.

"So.... um... maybe we should stick together..... since, um, the forest isnt all too safe." She said just loud enough for him to hear. She felt like an idiot as she fumbled over her words and made herself sound weak and scared.

She wasnt weak and she wasnt scared, she just felt uneasy about the forest. As its aura was that of shadow, she learned not to trust the shadows.

"So tell me about yourself Feris." She said with a light smile, she figured since she would be tagging along with him that she might as well get to know him a little bit. Plus she needed a small distraction from the thought she was having about shadows.

Feris didn't seem all that concerned. He strode into the forest with confidence and looked around in boredom. No creatures yet. He supposed that was a good sign. Though, if this was supposed to be a test, he was a little disappointed. Everything was very close together in this forest and it almost made it hard to maneuver. It definitely made it easier for some of the nastier residents to hide. He took that into consideration, tucking the information away for later.

It didn't take long before he heard the young girl following after him. She wanted to stick together? Did she not want to pass this test on her own merit? Well, it wouldn't be his head rolling should she find herself alone against her enemies. Not that there were many enemies left to fight. This was more of a...courtesy than anything now. The Darkness wasn't a threat. The Guardians were really just there in case they came back. Which was very unlikely, in his opinion. They were beaten back so easily last time. Why would they invade again? Especially with a whole host of new warriors to attend to.

At her next question, Feris glanced over. “About myself?” he asked. “Well, my name is Feris. I've been training for...all my life, really. My father, Merin Lionel, is my mentor.” That would ring some bells. Merin was one of the more well known Guardians. He had been alive during the fight against the Darkness, albeit when he was very young. He was barely a man, lying to get into the fight against them rather than being stuck in his village and praying for victory. An older man now, even among the Elves, he was close to the age in which he would be unable to continue fighting.

After a few moments, he looked to the girl, taking her form in more fully. She was scared. He could tell that much. With a small sigh, he offered her a smile. “Try not to be so frightened,” he reassured her. “If you couldn't handle this, you wouldn't be here.”

Krissie got the sense that he thought her as weak. She wasn't, she just knew that there had to be a healthy dose of fear for every situation. Fear kept you from walking off the edge of a mountain and doing really dumb stuff. But she let that slide, she wasnt going to argue about her abilities.

When Feris mentioned that his mentor was his father, she raised an eye brow. His father was well known among the Guardians and elves as well. He was lucky to have been mentored from a young age, she only spent a few short years learning things that took a life time to truly master. But she noticed that he looked like he didnt care, that he most likely didnt want to be here.

"I know I wouldnt be here if my mentor thought i couldnt handle it. I am just thinking there is safety in numbers." She said softly as she looked at Feris with her voilet eyes. She thought he was alright looking for an elf, but his hair was short which showed that he was likely rebelious.

When she was younger she spent a good deal with the elves as her mother wanted her to get to know her people. But then something happened, she wasnt sure at the time since she was so young. But now she believed that they cast her mother out because she chose to love a human.

Needless to say she didnt belong in either race. She had to keep her head up and make it known that she would not let anyone talk down to her. She wasnt a door mat. That was why she wanted to be a Guardian, she wanted to prove she was worthy.

"You are lucky to have such a mentor, many would kill for that." She said as she made her way deeper into the forest. Already the light from where they came in was gone, and it was now a strange half dark half light. She knew the dragons never stayed close to the edge of the forest.

"We should find a water source and make camp." She said looking back at Feris and smiling slightly. She was told that the closest water source was a little more then half a days journey in. So it would be close to dark by the time they get there.

Feris gave a nod. “That sounds reasonable,” he replied. “If I remember right, it's about half a day off from the entrance. So it'll take a while, but we'll probably be due for a rest by the time we get there, huh?” He smiled a bit, scratching the back of his head. He was trying really hard to be friendly, but it was almost obvious as an act, even to someone who did not know him.

He truly did not wish to be here. He was expected to become a Guardian, like his father. Of course, that didn't mean he wanted that for himself. He wanted to separate himself from the man as much as possible. His decision to do so, though, would have to be something within the system. His dreams were much bigger than simply being a Guardian. He was going to surpass his father in everything he could. It just had to start with this, even if he had no deep desire for the position itself.

He glanced over at his partner. At least he had an attractive companion during all of this. He simply wished she had a more reasonable partner. He knew he wasn't the most friendly normally, despite his attempts here.

“Well, I told you a bit about myself,” he offered after a moment. “Why don't you tell me about yourself?”

Krissie smiled at Feris but had a feeling that he didn't really want to be here, not that he was scared of the forest. It was something that was deeper seated, he probably didn't like growing up with a father that was so well known. He was probably expected to be a Guardian, if not forced to be one. She suddenly understood why he was so stand off-ish, having to deal with people always expecting something from you must of been hard. If she grew up like that she would probably go a little crazy.

But she was a mixed blood, no one ever expected anything from her. She was considered by many something that could be easily tossed to the side. Sure it was looked at as special when a male human took a female elf as a bride and when a male elf took a female human as a bride. But if they had children, those kids were doomed. Even if the parents were high up in society their children would still be third class people.

Krissie was suddenly pulled from her thinking when Feris asked her about herself. She bit her before taking a deep breath and slowly letting it out. "Well, I am what some call a mutt." She said as she cliamed over a large tree root, she never knew that tree roots could get that big. "My father is a Lord of the city of Cottom by the Diglue river, and my mother was an elf. She was Queen Ginnila's woman in waiting........" She stopped talking as she swallowed, memories of her mother were painful. "She died suddenly...... three years ago, no healers could heal her. We have no idea what took her."

Krissie knew that her mother was out in the meadow by their house one morning and when she came back she was vary ill. She tried to help her mother and ask what was wrong but her mother couldn't answer. It was really odd, just how her mother fell ill and within days she was dead. "She use to tell me of stories of the Guardians and said it was a great honour to be one. I have always wanted to be a Guardian and even more so after my mothers death." She looked at Feris and gave a sad smirk. She wasn't sure if he really wanted to hear about her. But she knew that the distraction was a welcomed one since they didn't have to focus on their thirst or tired muscles.

"Duni was the only one that would mentor me, others turned me away because of my parentage." She said lending a hand to Feris as he came over another really high root. The forest was getting more difficult to navigate, she hoped that this was as hard as it got but she had a feeling that it would get worse.

Some where deep in the forest a roar rang out, the sound made Krissie's heart jump and her blood rush. She looked from the forest depths to Feris and a big smile spread across her face. She didn't need to say anything, she knew that the feeling was probably similar with him. They know we are here, they are calling us further in. She thought as her excitement died down a little.

After a few yards or what felt like a few yards of silence, she desided to break it. "So what dragon are you hoping to find or get?" She asked knowing that there were a few breeds of dragons, some more rare than others.

Feris listened to her story in silence, frowning as she described Duni taking her in. He thought it was foolish. Why waste an opportunity because of heritage? He saw know point in that thinking. While not as physically gifted as the purebred elf, the half elves were still stronger and faster than a normal human. What more, it was the best connection either race had to the other. Something like that, in his opinion, should be treasured.

At her next question, he perked up, looking curious. The roar was at least a little bit helpful. It meant they were wanted here, the dragons urging them on. For the moment, though, he focused on the question. "I really haven't thought to hard about it," he replied. "I've always had a tendency for Storm Dragons. They're known for brewing storms in their wake. They might not have the same destructive power as, say, a Red Dragon with its flames, but they do well to mask approaches and guide one through storms. Plus, they have a destructive power all their own, spewing lightning from their breath. What about you?" He glanced over at the girl, curious to see what she would want. While his reasons were for the way he could get around with ease, he figured knowing her ideal dragon's type would do wonders for figuring the girl herself out.

Krissie lifted an eye brow as Feris told her about the dragon that he would like to find, it said alot about him, there were so many ways to interpret it though. For one it showed that he didn't like being in the public eye and though not as powerful as others, he was no doubt deadly. It also showed that he rather go his own way, that he was unique, as the dragon that he wished to find was quite rare. She suddenly thought that the dragon he wished to find would be perfect for him, she couldn't wait to fly and see her own dragon and his. She tilted her head to the side as she looked at the elf, they would be together in the next part of their training as those that got their dragons at the same time pretty much always trained together. She wouldn't mind having him as a training buddy since he most likely had more knowledge about dragons than she did.

"I'm not sure." She said giving a shrug, she thought about it before when she found a mentor, but she didn't know all the dragon breeds to make a clear choice. "I think I would like to find a hybrid, but I know that they are rare to find since dragons don't breed out side their own kind. But....." She drew out the word a little as she ducked under some low branches before looking back at Feris. "I think I would like an air dragon, as they are super fast and though they don't breath fire or lighting, they have a super loud roar that can kill people. If I could find an air and fire drake hybrid that would be amazing." She said as she climbed another larger root.

As she dropped to the other side of the root she froze, she couldn't believe what she was seeing. Though she knew that the forest had many creatures in it, it was said there were never any spiders. The dragons hated spiders and hunted them right out of the forest, but there was spider webs in front of her. They looked damaged and untended for some time which was a good sign, as it meant that no spiders were close. Krissie knelt next to the giant web, by the look of the silky thread it was a black back spider. She looked up at Feris with worried and concerned eyes, spiders weren't supposed to be her, not in this forest, not this close to the entrance. "What do you think?" She asked as she looked back at the giant web.

Questions rose in her mind then, where the dragons few in number? Did they let a few spiders live for sport? Or was there something at work here that was far more worry some? She hoped that none of the answers were yes, as that would mean something terrible was happening.

Feris was quiet, listening to her description. It was curious. An air and a fire dragon almost contradicted each other. A fire dragon would perceive a fierce, fiery temper. Strong offense overall. She didn't seem the type to want that. So...perhaps the air dragon was what masked her hidden potential. It was a lesser well known dragon, faster but weaker. A fast and fierce attack would be something promising in a Guardian. Not that it counted for much, but he approved of the choice. It was interesting, at the least, and would be sure to be proven useful.

As they hit the webs, his eyebrow rose in curiosity. "Think about what? We go forward," he stated. "We don't have much of a choice." He bent down and picked up a stick, using it to take the webs and move them to the sides. He stood to the side, allowing his partner to pass first. "Just try to ignore the webbing. I'm sure we'll figure out what's causing this soon." At least, he hoped so. He was curious as to why the spiders would be more populous now. It could be a number of reasons. However, the dragons were less needed now. It could easily be their absence that allowed this growth. It was something that he truly hoped wasn't the case.

Krissie looked up at Feris and shook her head, was he not taking this seriously? Spiders were of large spiders were of dark magic, which was never good when you happen to come across it. It either meant that someone was practicing the dark arts or it was a small sign that the Darkness was returning. She really hoped that it was the first one as the latter was terrifying to even think about. Sure all she ever heard of the Darkness was the stories but even the stories sent shivers down her spine. They were stories of pain and suffering though the ending was a good one, but there was always a warning that said to keep watch. No one knew if the Darkness would returned and many were beginning to think that the Darkness was dead and gone, the stories never said that it was.

Shaking her head she stood and followed Feris as he continued to go forward, she figured that she would try to keep the worry of the spiders out of her mind. "Well lets hope that we don't run into a spider." She said as she rolled her eyes.

Just then a booming roar sounded through the forest, the sound vibrated the air which meant that the dragon was close. But this roar seemed to tug on Krissie, like the dragon was calling to her, urging her forward. "Come!" She nearly yelled as she clasped Feris's should before running into the direction of the dragon roar. She didn't know if Feris was following but she hoped he was, as she would hate to find herself alone later. Another roar sounded, only this time a little further away which meant that this dragon wanted her a little further into the forest before it would show itself to her.

Krissie hurtled over large roots and dove under others, all the while keeping the same pace and not slowing. She was a great runner for both endurance and speed, it was one of the things that her mentor seemed to make her do alot of. She often wondered if her mentor had an idea what dragon would choose her or what one she would find, though she was told that the dragon chooses you the moment you step into the forest. They didn't know how and most didn't care to know as they had their dragons.

Krissie began to notice that the tree's were beginning to thin out a bit, though they were still huge, they weren't as close together. She slowed down and looked around for Feris, she couldn't see him. [i]Maybe he is some ways behind me?[/] She thought but was suddenly distracted when she heard the gurgle of water. Was she already at the river? It didn't seem like they were in the forest that long, but they could of been since they had no way of telling as the thick canopy of leaves prevented them from seeing the sky.

Krissie slowly made her way forward through the thinning trees until she could see the gently flowing river. She didn't leave the tree line until she was sure it was safe, it was then though that she realized just how thirsty she was. Slowly she made her way forward looking about herself to make sure that no one or no thing would take her by surprise. Once at the waters edge she cupped her hands into the water and brought it up to her lips. The water was cool and vary refreshing, she noticed then that it was about mid day if not almost evening.

Suddenly there was a rustle in the forest across from her, she stood up quickly and readied herself for an attack. But what she saw was two golden eyes like that of the sun, shaded blue wings like that of the sky. A smile made its way across her face as she realized that this was her dragon, an air dragon. She suddenly hoped that Feris had found his dragon as she would hate for him to miss out on the feelings she had.

She took a step forward and watched as the dragon did the same until they were so close that all she had to do was reach out and touch the soft nose of her dragon. Before she could do just that the dragon lightly placed its head on her shoulder. A jolt of energy and understanding flowed through her, she now understood her dragon and only her dragon. She now knew that it was male and that he had a name that she couldn't possibly say at it was in dragon tongue.

"I will call you Celer Ventus, Ven for short. Is that okay?" She asked and was answered with a small puff of air that she knew to be yes. "We should find Feris." She said before watching her dragon kneel so she could get on.

She knew that this was going to be amazing.

Feris was, of course, wary of the new occurrence. While he didn’t show it, he knew what the spiders meant. He had mix feelings of it, though. On one hand, it was a chance to prove himself, separating himself from his father. On the other hand, it would risk the whole of the country. The cons outweighed the benefits of another outbreak from the Darkness. That didn’t change their quest, though. The dragons were calling to them. They were waiting for them to arrive.

A roar pierced the silence. He looked to his partner and found that she had already taken off. The elf chased after her, dashing quickly to keep up with her. It wasn’t hard. While she did have the superior strength and speed of a half-elf, his was still greater, not having the human side to weigh him down. Of course, where his strength and speed surpassed her, her durability would pass him. For all of the hatred and reject they received, they were the most balanced of the races he knew of. Regardless, his speed kept him in pace with her, only a step behind.

Until he heard another roar, though. This one wasn’t a booming roar like the other, but one that crashed through the crevices of his mind. Strangely enough, he knew where it came from. He had slowed to a stop, looking in that direction. Then, he was off once more. He shot through the forest like an arrow, vaulting over a large root of a tree, his feet carrying him towards where he knew his true partner awaited.

As he approached a clearing, he slid beneath another root, overgrown and sticking from the ground. Rolling to his feet, he darted out again, his steps silent from years of chases and hunts through these types of forests. His pace, once again, slowed, however. He was approaching the edge of the tree line. It was a clearing, a small spring dwelling within. That wasn’t what slowed his step, though. It was the large gray eye staring out at him. It was almost like a large cat’s eye, but it held a great deal more intelligence. His smile betrayed his mood at seeing him. Instead of stepping forward, he held his hand out. “I heard you,” he said softly. “You were calling for me.”

The beast’s eye closed, its head nudging towards him as the snout pressed into his palm. In that instant, he could understand him. The dragon’s voice echoed inside of his head. ”I am glad you came, Feris.” It introduced itself, its name a garble of syllables impossible to both human and elven tongue.

The name had a common sound, though. Feris smiled brighter at that. “It is nice to meet you, Arnna Suula,” he spoke the name in Elven, liking the ring of it. Stormbreath. It was fitting for a StormDragon. “I shall look forward to working and fighting alongside you, Astaldar.” The term was used to describe the dragon’s appearance, a valiant beast of power.

The dragon snorted in response to the second name. ”Flattery will get you nowhere, pointy ears,” its voice boomed. ”The valiant ones are the ones who came before me. The ones who fought the Darkness. I am simply a pup compared to them.”

Feris was surprised by the humility, always having thought dragons would enjoy the attention. At this, though, he gave a nod. “Well, before anything, perhaps we should find my other partner. There was a girl who came in with me. We separated when I heard your voice,” he explained.

The dragon gave a nod. ”She has found her pact partner. We shall take to the sky and meet them,” it replied. It lowered itself, the silvery scales of the beast glittering even in the darkness. Feris smiled a bit, approaching his new friend and quickly climbing atop its back. With a booming roar, signaling to Krissie and Celer Ventus that they were taking off, it flapped its mighty wings, taking to the sky and shooting out through the trees that blotted out the sun.

Once on Ventus's back she heard a roar of another dragon, which didn't sound too far away. Feris has found his winged partner, we shall see them in air shortly. Celer Ventus spoke to Krissie. This shocked her as before he didn't say anything others than his dragon name, but his voice sounded soothing and soft. It wasn't what she was expecting, as she was expecting a booming and large voice that she thought that most dragons had. Ventus seemed to sense her surprise and gave a soft dragon chuckle, We vary just as you mortal ones vary, small one. Her dragon said while looking back at her.

Then he stood on his back legs and gave a mighty roar that would of made anyone close lose their hearing and those in the line of his roar fall over dead. But she was protected, she wasn't sure how, but she was and she was thankful. Hold on tight!

As soon as she got a good grip they were shot into the air, she never seen the ground leave her as fast as she saw it leaving her now. She felt a rush of excitement as they came high above the ancient forest, she had her dragon which was the fasts out of all the dragons. He wasn't big like the others bit he was fast which made up for his lack of bulk.

Krissie looked about herself as she looked for Feris and his dragon, that's when she spotted a large dragon coming up through the thick green canopy of the forest. Before she could say anything Ventus was already moving towards the large dragon, the closer they got the bigger Feris's dragon got. Ventus was a good size for his breed but the dragon in front of them had way more bulk. He is a storm dragon, and not even close to full grown. Ventus said answering her unspoken question.

Krissie smiled to herself as her dragon already seemed to know so much about her. "Are you full grown yet Ven?" She asked knowing she could think it but it would be some time before she got use to communicating that way. I have some growing yet but I am close to done. He replied as he flew silently to Feris and his storm dragon.

Krissie suddenly wondered if the dragons could communicate with each other, she was pretty sure that they could. But she knew that other riders couldn't communicate with other riders dragons, they could read body language but that was as close as they got to communicating. It was either get the rider to tell you what the other dragon was saying or get your dragon to tell you what the other dragon was saying.

"Feris! I would like you to meet Celer Ventus." She called out to him as soon as they were in ear shot. Ventus bowed his head slightly to the other pair in a sign of respect, as he and Krissie would be training with Feris and Arnna Suula.

She couldn't wait to start training with the other rider and dragon.

It wasn't long before Feris saw another figure shoot out from the trees. It was a smaller dragon, not built for the same style of fighting as his own was. Quicker and more agile. While the storm dragons weren't slow by any length, they were easily outstripped in speed by the air dragons.

He crossed his arms, watching the dragon come towards them. It was definitely fast. He wouldn't trade Arnna Suula for anything, though. It matched him perfectly. He grinned a bit once he could see the girl atop the beast's back. He held up a hand in greeting before hearing her statement. He offered a bow, as best he could from the back of his own dragon. “It is an honor to meet you, Celer Ventus,” he offered with a smile. “This here is Arnna Suula. Stormbreath, in human tongue.” The last bit was offered to Krissie. It could be seen as a shot at her ancestry, but he didn't mean it as such. He knew Elven tongue could be hard for humans to master. He wasn't sure how hard it would be for Krissie to pronounce the name as a half-elf.

With introductions done, he pointed out towards where they had first been dropped off. “Shall we go? I'm sure our masters are awaiting our return,” he said. “We'll need to celebrate with our new companions.” He rubbed the side of Suula's neck as he said this, smiling down at his dragon.

Krissie smiled when Feris gave her the name to his dragon in both Elven and human tongue, she was use to people giving her both sets of languages as they were always confused on which she used. "Greetings Arnna Suula, may the wind ever be at your back." She said as she bowed her head to the dragon before looking up at Feris and smiling. She knew elvish well, her mother made it a point to teach her and her father was also vary supportive of this. He often said that you needed both languages in this day and age, and he was right. Her mentor was vary pleased when he found out that he didn't have to teach her elvish, he said that it took a year or two off her training.

"Yes, to Briden Rock!" She yelled feeling vary excited, she couldn't wait to show her master her winged companion. He would be pleased with Ventus she was sure of it, even though he still had some growing left to do, he was a strong dragon with a vary powerful roar. They flew next to Feris and Suula at a steady pace over the green canopy below, though she could see the edge far in front of her, she was surprised that they had gotten as far as they did in the forest. Though it was disorienting and you didn't know how far you walked, you could of walked one mile and think that you walked five. Or you could of walked five miles and thought you only walked one. The sound of Ventus voice in her head surprised Krissie, she wasn't use to it. This seemed to make her dragon chuckle which vibrated her body and made her laugh a bit as it was an odd sensation.

Though she knew that he was right, the ancient forest was confusing and had a form of magic that only the dragons could possibly understand.

Looking ahead she could see the endless horizon and the beginning of the setting sun, "We should try to get as close as we can to Broke Spine mountains, then make came. We wont make it to Briden Rock today." She called over to Feris though she wasn't sure if he heard her. Do not worry little one, I have let Arnna Suula know of your idea and if Feris did not hear you Suula will let him know. Ventus said in a soothing voice that seemed to warm her from the inside out. She had no idea why, but she assumed it had to do with the dragons natural magic. "Thank you Ven." She said as they made their way towards Broke Spine mountains.

Briden Rock was at least a days ride away, though Krissie had a feeling that Ventus could cut that trip in half. But she wasn't going to leave her Elven partner behind, after all they started together and they would finish together. With their dragons of course.

Feris glanced over as he heard her call out to him. His ears picked up the faintest of words from her, barely making out what she said. He held up his hand in a wave, signaling that he heard her, though Arnna supplied the remainder of what he missed.

He would have preferred to have made it back today. However, he wasn't going to be picky on the matter. If she wanted to rest, he would give it an extra day. It wouldn't take too much out of his time and it would allow him to get to know his dragon a bit more. Maybe he would even learn more about his new training partner. After all, the two were going to have to get along since they had found their dragons together. They would be trained side by side, more than likely.

As the two approached the mountains, he patted Arnna on the neck. “Tell Ven that we'll follow his lead to find a place to rest,” he spoke softly to his dragon. The white head nodded ever so slightly, relaying the message to the faster air dragon. It would be easier for one to scout a place to stay rather than both trying to find separate ones.
