- Marriage between a Muggleborn Witch and a Pure Blood Wizard are often forbidden by the traditional Magical Community. When Richard Hendricks, the heir to his clan, was arranged to marry a fellow Pure Blood Witch from another family in order to maintain the heritage, Richard was less then enthusiastic. Already having fallen in love with a woman of his own choosing, a Muggleborn, he was heartbroken. Richard continued to sneak around with his beloved, even after becoming legally wed to his wife: Annabella.
- Two years into the forced marriage, Annabella was still unable to produce any children. It was later discovered that she'd become barren. However, an heir to the Hendricks's clan had been born within those two years, though. Richard's mistress, the Muggleborn, had given birth to their daughter in secret. A little girl, named Hillary Hyde (in honor of her maternal grandmother & grandfather), was the only child Richard had.
- Hilary is the rightful heir to the Hendricks's family. However, because she is a Half Blood and even worse, a Metamorphmagus, she'll never inherit her birth rights. Richard and his wife continue to try for a child, but none so far have been born. As for his mistress, the Muggleborn, she was forced to raise her daughter alone and Hillary is not allowed to know anything about her father. After Hillary's fifth birthday, Richard and her mother stopped seeing each other. The Hendricks's clan views Hillary as a disgrace and forbid Richard from having any communication or contact with her as punishment for his crimes against purity.
- Hillary's natural hair color is brunette, but it has been changing colors since her 1st birthday. She inherited the Metamorphi gene from someone on her mother's side, or so it is believed, since the Hendricks's have no documented knowledge of Metamorphi in their heritage. She is the typical Ravenclaw student, but has a passion for being an individual and enjoys expressing herself in various methods. She is close friends with fellow Ravenclaws and even some Hufflepuffs. Hillary loves Quidditch, but is extremely clumsy and accident prone, so she avoids playing.
