This is an idea I tried on another website, and I've seen similar ideas over the past four years. I thought I'd try it again on this website, where interest checks allow for beta-ing and imputing what others would like to see.

Here's the Plot:
For some reason, nobody knows why, the fiction universes have crossed together, almost like a quantum physics car pileup on the freeway. As a result they've blended together, some so bad that a person could take one step and cross a dozen universes at the same time. The more piled-up they get, the more "cracks" form in the fabric of reality. Soon things start breaking down and the inhabitants have to leave. These pileups happened in nearly all universes, especially ones that were already crossed--like Half-Life, Star Trek[/], and [i]Fringe.--and many inhabitants ceased to exist. The ones that escaped wandered from universe to universe, trying to find one that would welcome them. The universes that suited them would not welcome "refugees", and the ones that would were not suitable for their kind.

Finally the refugees did find a universe...or rather, cluster of universes. The popular sandbox game Minecraft served as a perfect place for refugees to band together and create their own home. Although Minecraft had crossed, the mechanics of the game allowed thousands of new worlds to spawn every day. One world, a singleplayer, vanilla world with no signs of a Player, became the site of New Haven, the city that accepts all refugees, villain or hero, as long as they are willing to work and contribute to the community.

End Plot

I'm thinking of steering this toward a good-versus-evil thing, with some villains in New Haven getting up to no good...You know, starting some trouble in town. Maybe one little fight and then the Police bust in, causing chaos for everybody. Stuff like that. But, with a humorous attitude, cause humor is awesome.

My characters in the one I tried to start were a weirdo Enderman and PTSD-ridden alcoholic Gordon Freeman.

So what're you guys' input? Does it sound good?

It sounds extremely confusing. Are we talking about deflecting SMG ammo with diamond armor and a HALO bubble shield, then returning fire with a Metal Gear equipped with a R.Y.N.O. and a Lancer?

Well you're discussing overlapping universes, which involve video games and television shows, so I'm asking to what extent that crossover extends. In my previous example, I referenced Half-Life, Minecraft, HALO, Metal Gear Solid, Ratchet and Clank and Gears of War. Am I constrained to one universe with the ability to interact with many, or can I be a mix of multiple universes and exist in only the Minecraft one?

This series will take place in that one Minecraft world. Characters can come from any universe and I'd prefer if they be canon, but OCs may be used. However, I don't understand what you mean by that last sentence.

Color me interested!

Trucy Wright will be in here, alongside the Chaos Lord who leads the Uthuk tribe.

Okay, let me try to explain.

Do I live only in one universe (Minecraft in this case) with the ability to jump between multiple universes (since people from multiple dimensions have come to Minecraft, thereby leaving a "door" back to their universe), or can my character initially be a combination of several universes (for example, an Earthbender [Avatar: The Last Airbender] with a Sharingan [Naruto], the Portal gun [Portal] and a Master Sword [Legend of Zelda]) that can only exist in the world of Minecraft?

I don't think you understand the plot.

Your character will be a resident of one universe. This can be a canon (such as Naruto from Naruto) or an Original Character. This roleplay will take place in one world in one universe; the empty world in Minecraft, with no mods installed. The members' characters will somehow find this universe and live here.

The "cross-overs" or "quantum car pileups" work like a Venn Diagram, where each circle is its own piece of paper. The different universes are close, but do not touch, until for some unknown reason, they overlap. That is a crossover; a point where two or more universes connect. When more than two universes connect, the fabric of reality starts breaking down. Too many connections can cause the universes to cease to exist. Those who managed to escape--usually by getting lost in some universe other than their own--now have no place to live. Our town of New Haven in the Minecraft world accepts all immigrants, as long as they work. And that is the plot.

So in other words, our characters would only be able to make/use things found on vanilla minecraft?

Also, interested, let's see how this goes...

No, they wouldn't. Vanilla Minecraft objects, creatures, and items are much easier to find, but the characters can bring things from their universe into this one. But, these items are more rare, since no one will be leaving New Haven during the roleplay.

So, it's a good idea to have your characters bring renewable resources, like animals, seeds, rechargeable machines/batteries, etc. But remember, they have to be reasonable. Nobodies bringing a Doomsday Device with them.

Aww man, that's no fun! I love doomsday devices! The professor loves them too!
