Can I bring a pack of feral goblins, drawn to the point by all the magical action, arrive and attack us right now? It'll be a small battle, but it would help my story a bit.

What do you mean by feral goblins? That's not really a thing; since their society is founded around thousands-years-old goblin dragons, goblins are actually pretty civilized. The closest thing you would see to feral goblins would be those whose dragon just died, since then they would scramble to find the next-nearest source of magic so that they can survive, but that only happens in the deserts, and we're at the Point of Origin, which is quite a ways away. You're not likely to find many goblins there, feral or otherwise.

Regardless of what they are, I could use some sort of savage group attacking us right now. Preferably something humanoid.

Goblins fit the bill perfectly, but it could also be orcs. Anything that would attack us in packs without being too intelligent about it would work.

I don't want to like, present myself as a centre of attention here or whatever, but for this purpose you could always have a bandit group / sellsword band tracking Eeiys and have them come from nowhere if you wanted. That's if the scenario would fit your vision, if not, don't worry :) Not sure if it's horde-y enough for you though.

EDIT: Because, you know, apparently he has lots of bounties and people after him.

Goblins in this world don't fit the bill, perhaps Kobolds?

I don't see how goblins fit that bill at all.

1) far away from where there would be enough goblins to really constitute a horde
2) Goblins, while they do swarm, are very intelligent about it. Heck, they have repeating crossbows, so obviously they have both a front line and a back line (back line archers). And swarms are directed by goblin dragons, which there really definitely should not be one around
3) There's no reason for the horde to attack us. They would arrive, realize that they're too late, and leave. Especially since Dssialii is there to wave em off all like "Sorry, party's over, it was just the big bad guy and the physical manifestation of the gods."
4) A goblin horde would murderate us horribly, if they decided to attack us for whatever reason. I thought I made that especially clear in the race bio: if you attack one of them while they're investigating the place (since you'd have to be the one to instigate something, since they couldn't care less about our group), then they will ALL attack you. If you don't die, then MORE goblins will come attack you, and if you don't die, then EVEN MORE goblins and a goblin dragon will come and you will have died the first wave anyway.

So, inciting a fight with goblins is a bad idea, which would ultimately only lead to your characters' character growth in that they would go from living to dead.

Why not make up a new race to come get their socks beaten off of them?

Kobolds work, Bandits work. As long as they're mainly attracted because of the main questline event.

My main character doesn't feel like staying or signing up for saving the world. He's on the fence about leaving all of this behind. But if some random attack left us all in a dire situation (most of us are already in bad condition after the blastwave. Some of us were wounded even before that) he wouldn't have a choice but to stay. You guys could probably benefit from a fight like this in some other way.

Edit: Here's a race of creatures from Witcher 2:

I'm not really comfortable with just stealing direct lore/creations from other material.

What's the reason for the need of attack? A lot of action just happened, I would have imagined conversation and decision making to be the course of action.

I think Shankee is dead. I haven't decided.

No.

I just want to set the tone.
I think I need him alive for now. In order to have character interaction with the party.

I'll give these creatures a different name. Other than their name, there is nothing too special about them to make them unique for any one source of material.

I explained my reason before, but if the GM doesn't want it, then it's fine. But it goes deeper than that. I don't like sitting around and making a post that merely recaptures the same things that all the other characters saw. I want to add something to the story, throw a challenge in for people to tackle on, or just spice things up in general. In a very youthful sense of it, I want to make something happen.

A fight right now would do just that, especially since some of us are severely wounded (The alunei), while the others have horses or ponies on top of them. I see this as a perfect opportunity for our characters to really struggle and pull through.

But that's just my creative juices talking. If you guys want to follow the story that's fine by me too.

I have no problem with player input and creation, but there was/are plenty fights arranged. If the party wants one now, by all means, but I'll aim to keep in line with the wishes of the majority for most of the time. A fight is fine with me, and I can provide enemies, if that's what the party wants.

Well, without times of rest, it doesn't make sense for our band to make it very far, at all. ALSO, if everyone just thought "oh, I need to add a challenge for other people to tackle on", we're never going to get anywhere. Combat takes freakin forever to RP, and really I'd rather wait as long as possible before any of that happens.

People usually vote no for things like this and I'm left alone.

I've been through this exact same situation a few times before. Still, a fight would help me.
