"Amusing, but not enough!" Balthazar extends his hands and goes into a horse stance, dark and telekinetic energy pulse from each arm is the shockwave causes Dark and Kyo to fly into opposite directions. The impact meant death, but before they came close to the wall they come to a sudden halt and float helplessly in mid-air. Pulled back towards Balthazar, he sets them down on the ground before releasing them.

"Congratulations, you two are now my pupil."

Balthazar points to his slightly budged left foot.

Kyo sat on the floor and gawked at the infinitesimal distance that Balthazar's foot had been moved. How was it possible? He had predicted that, once he and Dark accomplished the Sisyphean task together, he would be absolutely elated. This did not turn out to be the case. His disappointment had reached such a towering magnitude that he felt hollow and extremely nauseous. After all that effort and all that expenditure of telepathic and dark energy, that was the best the two of them could do? Either Balthazar was a god or, more likely, Kyo and Dark both had a lot of learning to do.
The idea of acknowledging this made his heart fall to fathomless depths. As he was approaching his final year at the academy, he had been under the delusion that his powers were good enough to stack up to the headmaster's staff As Balthazar had proved, this was evidently not the case. He gave Dark a confused look, knowing that his friend was probably feeling just as dejected, and stared at the floor, not knowing what to say as he got back up to his feet.

"You...mean after all that effort we manage to push you just an inch?" Said an irate Dark as he rises to his feet.

"All this time, pushing myself to be a Guardian, I get the opportunity and then only to see my skills get reduced to a mere twitch of someone's foot. This is an embarrassment."

Balthazar scratches his beard as he looks on at his two new pupils. "Don't sell yourself short, there is a reason why I'm here. I'm not meant to teach your every day students here at the Academy, my teachings are far too harsh and take serious toll on a normal wanderer. I wouldn't be hear if Mortar and Alvarez recommended it. Everything you have been taught would help you out in your every day life and beyond, but if you want to reach amazing levels you're going have to bend the rules of what is written in a textbook or taught in your lessons. Tell me, has any of your teachers ever come close to actually pushing you to the point that you were about to die, made you strain your mind, body and soul to levels that you didn't think possible. You guys did everything in your power to try to get me to move, even if it meant taking my life or injuring me greatly. However, in the real world you're still at a very low level of skill. I'll be your new teacher from here on out though, and I guarantee you, your skills will greatly rise above any other student in this academy. But only if you accept this offer."

Dark looks over at Kyo then back at Balthazar. "When do we start?"

Kyo admired Dark's eagerness but, conversely, he couldn't help but feel apprehensive. This guy was clearly a maniac; were either of them physically and, more importantly, mentally fit to take on this huge commitment?
"Why do we need to be stronger than the rest of the students in the Academy?" he inquired shrewdly. "The Academy teaches us to hone and respect our powers, but it places even more emphasis on integrating into human society. What exactly are we being trained for that requires you to take us to the brink of death?"

"Don't get me wrong, I'm not here to prepare you for any type of warfare. You're still going to hone your skills and respect your powers and what not, but tell me this. How often do you focus in class, do you regularly feel challenged? Plus during this battle, you were too keen in trying to injure me back there were you not?"

Kyo opened his mouth to reply but no words came out. Could it be possible that he had an aptitude for violence? He thought he had kept the horrors of his past well-hidden from others and any emotions that came as a result of it, but maybe Balthazar was right. More often than not, in his most unguarded moments, Kyo found himself wondering how it would feel to be the one to slit the throats of those who had murdered his family...
"No," lied Kyo firmly once he had regained his composure. "I'm a secondary white mage, I know what I'm doing."

"When the time comes, your true nature will be revealed. If you are willing to be my pupil I expect you two to be here tomorrow at the crack of dawn. If you deny the offer however, then you can resume your normal day and attend your regular schedules."

Balthazar places his hands on top of Kyo and Dark's head, a gold aura surrounds them, and Dark feels every ache and pain disappear from his body and his energy restored in a matter of a seconds.

"Now then, I assume you two still have some classes to attend hurry now before you get detention."

Dark examines his body, the scars from previous fights have disappeared, but what of the one on his cheek? He places a hand on it to check for the ridges, and they are gone. Trembling, he nods in agreement and walks out of the gymnasium.

"Elder, who exactly is this guy?"

Kyo followed Dark in silence, utterly confused and unable to form a single coherent thought about the events that had just transpired. The day had started so simply and now everything had suddenly turned on its head, forcing him to question a range of subjects like his ability and, even worse, his morality.
"So..." he began, after a long pause. "Are you actually going to show up tomorrow, or do you think this guy is fucking nuts?"

Dark snaps back into reality.

"Yeah, I'll be here tomorrow...I just need some time to think, what are you going to do? Are you done with detention for awhile, i don't know what would be worst, missing his training classes or skipping detention."

Kyo felt a small smile curve his lips and was relieved beyond measure to find some semblance of light-heartedness returning to their conversation.
"I'm done with detentions so I'll be able to make his training class. Somehow, swapping Carolyn for this big, hairy brute seems like a downgrade." he lamented, sighing theatrically.

"I'm sure you'll feel right at home, tomorrow morning. Let's finish up this day, I'll see you tomorrow."

Dark levitates and gives his friend a salute as he soars towards the Black Mage guild for his final class of the day.

On the way there he can't help but think if everything he did really meant anything, he swore his life to becoming one of the greatest Guardians the Slums has seen but he feels as if whatever he does only ends up as minimum effort. Doing his own training like Snake and the others did before him and they show great skills in controlling their power and have a unique style as well, but him, he just feels he can't keep up at all. Maybe that's why they haven't truly consider him as a full pledge Guardian yet, why he takes the role as a test dummy, decoy, and doing recon before everyone else shows up. Do they really consider him that weak, but what of Elder Mortar, does he feel the same way as well? Is this why he wanted Dark to seek out Balthazar's aid in becoming stronger or is he just looking out for him like he did when Dark was younger?

Rattled with his thoughts he makes it to giant doors of the Black Mage Guild, he pushes them open and greets his professor with respect and sits down with the other students as they begin the lecture of the day.

Kyo bade Dark farewell as the two went their separate ways. He was so consumed by his thoughts that he got lost several times on the journey to his lecture. Finally finding himself outside the door to the classroom, he peered in and noticed that he was slightly late. Utilising this as,an excuse, Kyo turned on his heel and walked away from the classroom, heading towards a much darker and much more pressing matter in the city of Ceteris.

After about half an hour of washing, it seemed that I had finished my load. I tried to leave unnoticed and walked outside for lessons.

It was about 1:50 When i went to my appointment with the psychiatrist unfortunately the powers that be believe that the the fact i hate my powers is 'Not a good ethic', The academy psychiatrist Wasn't a bad guy i just find it hard to understand his point of view. After his lectures he normally gets me to discuss what's been happening to my powers lately. When i explained to him the night before he was shocked that i had joined in, but encouraged me to take do more he said that i should use my powers more in those situations.

I don't normally pay much attention to him but when i let i felt that i should help more using my powers so I left to the quietest place i could think of, the gardens. i sat at the back and tried to summon a telepathic weapon after about 4 failed attempts i managed to create a Great sword in which looked 5 ft long but i felt drained at which point and sat under the tree and mumbled my to myself about last nights occurrences.and what i could've done better, after this i drifted of into a sleep.

Scenario 6

Jade leaned back on the trunk of a tree as she read her favorite book, her mind anywhere else but where she was, her leg limply hanging from the branch up in the tree. The voice of a boy suddenly made her snap back into reality and she blinked a couple of times, trying to remember where she was. It took her a second to snap out of her daze.

She glanced down, under the tree and saw some of the kids that had been in the attack. She shuddered as she recalled the events and sat up straight, placing her book in her back pack before slinging it over her shoulder. She had no intentions of reminiscing over the bloody events so she pushed herself off of the branch and flew off to an empty area. Smiling, she landed on her toes before throwing her backpack to the side and sighing.

Jade had plenty of time to kill, so she stretched a bit before bringing her hands out in front of her and concentrating, letting the magic flow out and creat a small sphere. She had never tried to use her dark magic, but since she had nothing to do, she decided on trying to get better with it. Or at least know the extent of her ability to control it.

Scenario 6 (Assuming this is around the same time that Dark and Kyo are training at the moment.)

Aphrodite darts out of her telepathy class, finally free of the boring Professor Aspen and his lecture of concentration is key to being a great telepath. As if she doesn't know that vital information for her concentration is at the top of her class, or so she thinks as she bumps into her fellow classmates causing them to fall over.

"Sorry about that here let me help you with that." Aphrodite picks up the mess in a neatly stack pile, and telekinetically passes it over to the rising kid. Assuming that he has it under control she releases her control of his belongings and darts out towards the Babylonian Gardens, ignoring the groan of the kid as he has to pick up the mess once again. Finally making it to her favorite spot to relax, and practice her telekinesis she notices a girl there. Aphrodite slowly descends a few paces from her as notices that her orb is cackling and isn't completely concentrated as lumps keep bulging out in random spots.

"Your first time using dark magic?"

Her eyebrows furrowed in concentration, Jade tries to keep her focus on the orb in front of her. Hearing someone speak up behind her, she jumps up and loses it, causing the orb to pop like a bubble a disappear. "Yeahhhhh. I've never really 'used' it." She uses air quotes as she smiles at the girl. "Soooo yup. I guess you can say this is my first time.... " she shrugs and runs a hand through her hair as she tries to remember if she's seen the girl before. "I'm Jade by the way." She grins and sticks her hand out, mainly out of habit.

Aphrodite smirks seeing all the dark energy burst. Jade has a way to go, but it's not like Aphrodite can form dark matter like that anyway. She firmly grasps Jade's hand and shakes it.

"I'm Aphrodite, nice to meet ya. Pardon me Jade, are you feeling okay, you have a mark on your neck."

Aphrodite places a hand on her own neck to indicate where she can see the bruise on Jade's.

"You were there the other night weren't you? Tell me did you see the Guardians or someone named Dark there? He also uses Dark Magic." Aphrodite getting a little ahead of herself as usual, not realizing she could be out of line with these sudden questions.

Jade grinned when Aphrodite shook her hand, but quickly frowned at the mentioning of her neck. "Yeah, I'm fine." She had muttered the words, not wanting to really go further into it. When she heard her bring up the incident she sighed and shrugged. "I don't really know who was there. I was too busy getting killed with a giant thing of ice." Jade made a face and shuddered, the thought of it making her nauseous. "How do you even know of what happened?" She looked up at Aphrodite, subtly changing the subject.

"People don't know how to keep their mouth shut around here." Lying of course, having a source with the Guardians is usually a plus considering when you discover that you have an older brother who is one.

"Ohhhh. Makes sense." Jade nodded and looked down at her hands for a second. "Wait do you know how to .... Y'know.... This..." Jade brought her hand slightly up and watch as dark magic formed on her hand, overflowing her small palm and falling over like water before vanishing into the air. "I got my ass whooped last night... Kiiiinda don't want that happening anymore."
