"Cancer, like the starsign?" Avery asked, sneaking a peek at his grinning mask but immediately darting her eyes back to their previous position. "Or... the disease?"

"And pleased to meet you too, Cancer."

"Like.. The disease. Pretty sure. Long story, really!", Cancer said, climbing the railing to the stairs. "I just remembered I have to be somewhere. I'll see you later, yeah?"

He jumped off the railing and snapped his fingers, summoning a R3NDR panel to catch him mid-fall. "And don't lose your headband!", he called as he and the floating panel zoomed down the hallway.

"You'll have to tell me sometime, then," Avery scratched the back of her head and nodded as Cancer provided quite the dramatic exit. Well, it was dramatic to her. Speeding away on black panels looked pretty dramatic. It was like he was in a movie or something.

Avery was rather pleased with herself that she had been acquainted with a person other than her teachers. Cancer was the only person who seemed actually willing to maintain a sort-of decent conversation with her. Which was nice for a change.

She walked back down the stairs herself and realised that she too had somewhere to be in the next few minutes, so her stroll picked up into a jog as she rushed over to her next class.

Scenario 8

It has been a month since the attack in the warehouse and a lot has happen to Dark. Balthazar's rigorous training has increased his skills with his Dark, Fire and Psionic magic to levels he didn't think was possible if he had done his regular routine. The first week was rough as he was dragging his ass around the Academy most of the time, then feeling humiliated when he and Kyo had to spar against Ivy and Aphrodite as the ladies wiped the floor with them. Around the third week his body was getting use to the training, becoming more durable and tone, and the best part of the training, the meditation at the end, clearing his head gave him time to realize of what he wanted to do in regards of the Academy, becoming a Guardian and overall becoming a better person. He has become friends with Aphrodite, Cancer and Jade, still unsure with Ashlynn but they acknowledge each other, they're sarcastic towards each other, while others would see it as insults and very dry humor, but he'll take what he can get with that woman.

He sits back at his favorite hangout spot listening to the musician playing on his saxophone a nice slow tune, fitting for the dim-litted environment. He takes a sip from his drink and leans back in his chair and lets out a satisfying sigh. Balthazar cut their training early today and told them to go enjoy themselves, something that is needed. As he is about to zone completely out, the bell at the entrance door goes off as someone swings the door wide open, bringing in the winter breeze and sunlight.

The past four weeks brought on a harsh winter. While November is considered more winter than fall, it felt more like the latter. As soon as it turned December, the change in weather was drastic, and it forced Ashlynn to wear a warm dark poncho over her usually outfit. She has made a few acquaintances while at the Academy, but she not seen Mable for a long time, which was a shame, because she wanted to do something nice for the girl to partially repay her debt. Besides from that, nothing substantial really occurred during the past month; during her free time most of her thoughts were occupied with the attack from a month ago where she was referred to as "Mother". She asked around, both in and out of the Academy, but there were no leads. The 12 were ghosts.

Ashlynn entered the cafe, the bell ringing behind her. She ordered the usual (at least for this particular season), and thanked the barista after removing her helmet. Noticing Dark, she walked over and took a seat in the chair immediately across from him, raising her drink and then taking a sip.

"Didn't think I'd see you here."

"I didn't know you were an Inuit." Dark said mocking her choice of wardrobe. "It's a shock to see you here as well, I didn't know you were into jazz."

Ashlynn gave him the finger with her free hand. "It's cold okay?", she said, justifying her outfit. "I like the drinks here. The jazz is a plus."

She sipped her drink. "So how you been? Busy with Balthazar, I assume?"

Dark smirks at gesture, first round goes to him.

"Actually he let us out early for good behavior."

Dark rarely talks about training with Balthazar around the Academy just to avoid conflict with students and professors alike. Some of the students don't understand why him and Kyo get special treatment, and the professors don't agree with Balthazar's method of teaching. He has shown off quite a bit of his skill during his other lessons, so that doesn't help a bit. Getting back on track he leans in toward Ashlynn with a stern expression.

"Have you noticed how quiet it's been lately?"

Ashlynn smiled a little bit at the comment about 'good behavior'.

She crossed her legs and leaned forward. "Too quiet", said with a change of tone in her voice. "When something like the warehouse incident happens, I have a feeling that it's not going to be like that for too long."

"Exactly, it's keeping me on the edge a bit. They attack once but then you don't hear from them again, it seems odd. I still get the feeling that the woman that was there is the actual leader and the one who tried to kill both of us is nothing more but just her grunt. I wish I got his name."

Ashlynn sighed, putting her drink on the table. "I was going to ask you if you knew anything, too. There goes that idea."

"Nothing, not even the Guardians know anything they been trying to pin point their location or if they have attacked anywhere else. They've been coming up short everywhere."

Dark takes another sip, then realizes something.

"Of course."

Scenario 8
November was taking its toll on me so decided to go out for jog and boy was it cold wishing I didn’t wear my summer kit still.
i had been running for half an hour when i saw a cafe. When i entered a bell rung i didn't know they did those still i decided to order my self a coffee to get my self something to warm up That was when I heard two familiar voices talking. I admit to being nosy but I couldn't help myself.

“Hey dark and Ashlyn that's the names right? I believe I might be able to help with that I was planning to do some research but never got round to it”

Ashlynn groaned. "Of course they wouldn't."

She turned to the extremely tall yet young boy that approached them. She's seen him before; he was one of the two people she saw when she came to after the warehouse incident. He always happened to be where she was, and she found it strange, as she never really interacted with him let alone knew him as a person.

"And tell me, where would you start?", Ashlynn asked, her voice a little irritated, taking her drink off the table and taking a sip.

Before Dark could begin his thesis, this strange guy interrupts his conversation with Ashlynn. Dark nods his head at him for getting his name and letting him take the role of explaining about the 12 assailants.

"Go ahead then stranger."

I picked up my Coffee and said thanks; I turned to Ashlyn and Dark:

” i have two names for you, the woman Bastet who if I remember correctly is also the name of the Egyptian god of cats, and Horus the name of the Egyptian god who protected the Pharaohs. Could be completely coincidental but who knows. I the other 12 I have no idea about unfortunately I just heard mumblings of between them. And unfortunately I didn't see any faces it was too dark from the place I was to see any”

Ashlynn was not amused. "...That's it?"

"And I'm going to assume that there's someone named 'Osiris' and 'Anubis' too, right? Congratulations, Inspector Clouseau, I believe you have just solved this case", said Ashlynn mockingly. She had no time for nonsense.

"We've known about the names for a month now man. Thanks for your input though."

Dark removes his hand from his face after listening to guy's information and proceeds with his thesis.

"Let's think about that night, their tactics were of a common thug, surprise attack their victim then overpower them with numbers at first right? Best time to pull that off is late at night, in areas where it's big enough to fit them all in, but deserted most of the time, near the warehouse for example. Assuming if they go with this same course of action we need to look around more secluded areas but big enough to keep them in check. I feel like they're hiding somewhere in downtown Ceteris. One of them is a white mage as well, for the fact that they were able to teleport in a group, no secondary white mages have that skill and even if they did I highly doubt they could travel that far. The one who attacked you and I was a psionic user, I felt more than just his fist when he attacked and lifting the warehouse and destroying it was more than enough to prove that theory."

"I have a hunch they will be coming out of hiding soon and I feel that they'll go after a new victim than one of us again. Someone that we know in our small group of friends. It narrows it down to Ivy, Aphrodite, Kyo, and possibly Carolyn. Carolyn should be the last person to expect cause I hardly see her leave the Academy, Kyo and Aphrodite are always wandering off somewhere, and Ivy, well if she is the next victim she could handle her own for a bit, but will get overpowereed in a matter of minutes."

I felt like Ashlyn had just punched me when she replied. at least dark made an effort. The thought of just the 12 people mind me think,

"Is it not possible for anyone there to be their next target, i mean anyone there could just be attacked when they wanted.for example Mable could be next just my opinion anyway i better go, I've got to get rid of some weight before Christmas."

I poured the coffee into my flask and placed the cup on the counter. I then walked over from where i was, to the door opened it and started jogging away.

Ashlynn looked out of the window as Leo left. "Huh, Mable.. Haven't seen her in a while.." She then turned to Dark. "What about Cancer? Isn't he always out and about?"

She paused, thinking. "Their attacks aren't unmotivated, though. There was a reason for it. They called me their mother, and I have no idea what that is about."
