I'm wondering if anybody would be interested in participating in a murder mystery RP. This RP would be a little different than others because instead of creating characters from scratch, I would PM each player a random character outline. The outline will include key information that your character possesses regarding the mystery, as well as information regarding their relationships with other characters. After reading the outline, you would have the freedom to flesh out the character's personality and play them however you wish. The plot would involve all of the characters coming together for some kind of a event, like a dinner party or a banquet, which is where the murder would occur. It will then be your job to piece together what happened in the murder and discover the culprit by interacting with the other characters, learning information from them, and putting it all together.

This RP isn't meant to be that serious. The characters and scenario will likely be pretty over-the-top and it's not going to be a long-term RP. If you're looking for a fun little diversion and you think you have what it takes to solve a mystery, then this is the RP for you.

Alright so what is everybody feeling as far as setting goes?Right now I'm debating between two possible themes:
1. A medieval fantasy theme with feuding noble houses. The murder would likely take place at a royal banquet, or at a wedding. Characters would include knights, princesses, elves, goblins, that sort of thing.
2. A Hollywood theme with the murder taking place at an awards show of some kind. The characters would all be Hollywood stars (producers, directors, actors, etc.) and would be parodies of different types of celebrities.

I vote medieval because I'm not too good with celebrities.

Medieval fantasy seems far more interesting in my opinion; it's a bit different than what you'd conventionally expect of a murder mystery so I think it'll make for a juicy tale.

Yeah, I'd go with medieval fantasy as well, seems more appealing to me.

I'd go against the grain because Medieval Fantasy has always intimidated me. But since everyone seems to like it, I'll just say the same lol

Either sounds good. I feel like the medieval would be better for a more serious rp, but Hollywood sounds like a more over the top kind of affair.

I might be interested in this, if you still have room.

I myself would vote for the celebrity one (assuming we don't use IRL celebrities), as the medieval fantasy RP has been done countless times (albeit not in this manner)

I'm also interested in this and I'd love to join if you have the room.

Personally, I don't mind either setting. They both sound exiting and fun to do. :3

I agree with Dr_Trapezoid (who has a cool name, I endorse all math references), in that if we do go Hollywood, can we avoid real celebrities?
