I think Beta meant to say Erd possess no way of defending against the spell. Like hitting a dude with a flamethrower and him dying due to not being fire immune/resistant. Though that spell does seem highly unavoidable by allot of characters, few spell casters as it is.

Difference between the flamethrower and Beta's ability, you have to actually hit them with the flamethrower; not shoot it off in their general direction and they are burned.
