I just realized something Silver. That your Hydra would infact grow to a full size, which would be when your character dies, because they die. Get it? Grim humor.

It can actually grow up to full size while the master is alive.

It's just really hard to get it to that stage.

The master gaining magical power is equivalent to steroids to the familiar. Only instead of having some negative affects it's only good ones.
