Alan sighed as the wind made the pages of his tome flutter, the dead look on his face only slightly scrunching in anger before flipping back to his previous page. He was sitting atop the institute roof just above the headmistress’ office, “this is why I don’t like having to watch for the new ones....” he muttered flipping the weather-beaten page he was reading. He slid his fingers along the page for a long moment, though half lidded his eyes darted scanning over the entirely of the page. It was lined with red runes, various muscle names and much more. But he wasn’t able to get much further, as seven carriages formed out of thin air down the road; they had just entered the barrier.
“S’about time they showed up.” He hissed quietly then reached back from his rooftop perch slamming a stone-grey fist down on the flat, silver centre piece that separated the forest colored shingles, a minor crack forming where his fist landed. “They’re here air-head. Hurry up.”

Meanwhile inside Guennean sat at her desk, shuffling through a small stack of papers books cluttering most of it. They were all magic based in some way and she had probably read then a million times over. But she had to go over them one last time if she was going to teach any of it successfully. Or so she thought.
Then came the loud crashing sound from above and she was only really able to make out the “air head” comment. “Remind me to turn him into a newt later for that.” She grumped at a small blue bird that couldn’t be entirely put under any specific breed sitting atop a wooden perch on the far end of her desk. “Sweetie, go get Miss Deepstead and have her meet me out front of the school?” he cooed, petting the bird on the head that replied with a quiet tweet then fluttered off down the halls to search for her, soon landing on the doorknob of the classroom, pecking at the wood as if it were trying to knock.

Outside the school Alan then slid down the shingles of the roof, quietly landing on the ground quite a good distance below, his right shin fracturing with a loud snapping sound as he made contact with the grass. “Well that wasn’t entirely pleasant...” he said, fiddling with his now broken shin bone, simply cracking it back into place as a small spurt of smoke rose from where it had broken and with that he was able to push himself to his feet.
He was about to be on his was as Guennean came forth from a swirling violet portal that seemed to appear out of nothing on the side of the building “where are you going?” she inquired.
He waved a hand dismissively at her “Goin’ to the Gym while I still have it to myself for a while.” And with that the pitch black carriages halted before the school, each had a skeletal driver who was dressed in a Tux and short top-hat. Each one slid out of their seats behind their pair of white horses making their way to open the door and let the students out of their red, velvet confines.

Tap, tap, tap. That was the main sound to be heard both inside and just outside of the classroom belonging to one Miss Aeron Deepstead. Within the classroom, it would be the sound of her right index finger tapping the black-painted wood of her desk, on which sat a black-covered book with no words on the outside. Outside of it, it would have been the sound of a little bird pecking at the door. A sound like that would never fail to register in a vampire's ears. They're already here? Splendid. Getting up to her feet and closing the wordless book, Aeron made her way to open the door and greet the little blue bird with a smile, a nod, and a "Let's go greet the students, I suppose." Letting the bird lead - even though she could have easily led instead, what with a vampire's speed and all - Aeron followed the little avian guy toward the front of the school, where the students would be.

Jared sat inside the carriage, looking out of the window absently as it rocked back and forth gently. He had eventually fallen asleep inside and when the carriage came to a stop he found himself leaning against the window drooling in his sleep. He sat upright and wiped his face on his sleeve as he looked out the window of his carriage to see the school grounds and he smiled so widely that his cheeks started to hurt. He was finally here.

As the skeleton opened the door to his carriage a small brown hare bolted out of the small gap and began running laps around the small area where the carriages were parked and the teachers, except for Alan, stood waiting to greet them. Jared could barely contain his excitement as he ran in circles around the grounds, running between the teachers' feet and under the carriages. Finally he grew bored of running and leaped into the air, his form becoming distorted until he was a crow, flying in circles above everyone's heads until it came back down and perched itself on top of a carriage before distorting yet again and becoming a young Native American teen with long, dark hair dressed casually in a grey T-shirt and blue jeans sitting on the roof of the carriage and beaming at everyone that looked his way.

"But Alaaaaaan..." A voice spoke as a rather young looking teenager suddenly pops up beside Alan while he got himself to his feet. The teenager in question looked normal for the most part, aside from maybe the red eyes and the scar that started at the corner of his right eye and trailed back into his hairline. Though it was hard to see much else on him at the moment, the jacket he wore was a bit too big for him, especially the hood. It hung down over a good bit of his face, one could just barely see the silver piercings in his bottom lip. Though as you looked him over... his pants were tight fitting with a studded belt, and he didn't have shoes on. Or socks for that matter.

"Shouldn't you go wait for them at the gates? What if they get lost? Or have question? I still have questions and I've been here a while. What if they need something? Do you think they will like it here? What if they don't like shoes? I don't like shoes, so its alright if they don't either. Why do people even like shoes... I am hungry, can we have lunch first? Even though its early morning...? At least I think it is. It might be afternoon. Its nighttime somewhere. Do you think they are hungry?" Cyder started, not even taking a breath between questions. He spins around a bit, grinning stupidly from behind his hood at the other male.

"Hey, Alan! Lets go wait for them by the gates!" He nearly yells at the top of his lungs as he leaps at Alan without any warning. Though something happens as he leaps, his form starts to change the moment his barefeet left the ground. Within the blink of an eye, there would be a rather large tiger-sized cat attempting to tackle his dearest friend, mostly trying to climb on his shoulders... much like a smaller, house-sized cat might try to do. Cyder really didn't seem to notice though that he was over five hundred pounds, only that he was trying to climb onto his friends shoulders while purring as loudly as possible.

The carriage ride was a generally unpleasant one for the Imp. Between all the other entities next to him, and how small it was, by the end of the ride he was starting to feel claustrophobic. Add to the fact that he couldn't breathe much, lest he fill up the cabin with smoke. As soon as the driver opened the door, he bolted out, thankful to finally have some room. A plume of tar black smoke escaped him as he was able to start breathing normally again, and stand to his full seven feet even. "Finally." He commented, not showing any interest in the building itself, but the other students climbing out of the rides. He was sizing them up, seeing what his competition would be to be dominant. Of course, Masilalt knew he couldn't judge solely on appearance. Many of the students probably knew some form of magic, and weren't to be messed with. But his judgement gave him good expectations, if not a bit disappointing that there wouldn't be much of a fight. Next, he was to take a look at any of the teachers present. Now he wouldn't be stupid enough to get in a physical fight with them, but he did want to see what he would be getting himself into. Finally feeling content with his first impressions, he straightened out his wraps and cracked the few knuckles that he had left in his hands.

Ewan did not have a particularly eventful ride. For most of the ride he just had his headphones on, music blaring as to not really take in the rest of the things that rode with him. He didn't exactly feel social during the ride, though he knew that at some point he would have to make friends. He didn't want to be friendless again and this would probably be better for him anyway. Others that had powers that weren't natural just like him, what could really go wrong.

As the carriage came to a halt and the rest of the variety of creatures made their way out of the vehicle as quickly as they could, Ewan took his time. His bag was still on the seat so he attempted to levitate it over to himself. After a few seconds of effort with no results her sighed and just picked it up. As he stepped out of the carriage he levitated a pack of cigarettes out of his bag and into his hand. He opened the top with his hands before levitating a single cigarette out and between his lips. He placed the box back in his bag before bringing his hand up to the cigarette. He snaps his fingers and a spark is lit, the tip of his finger flaming he uses it to light the cigarette before extinguishing his finger. He takes a long draw from the cigarette and steps in with the others that had gathered there before pushing some of his long hair out of his eyes.

“No, Cyder. I’ve got far more useful things to do; It’s not like we’re needed there any wa—“ Alan attempted to reply before being, to some extent literally crushed, the weight of his ‘friend’ in the form of an overly large feline landing atop him forcing him face-first flat upon the ground three of his ribs breaking possibly in multiple spots by the crunching sound they made as he met the ground.
Slightly irritated, Alan hissed “Cyder, get off me before I painfully rearrange your insides.” Or atleast he tried to, most of it coming out as a gargled “Mrphrm Grmphrmr mnghrmrmhrn mrmrphgr.” With a mouthful of dirt and grass, his chest already beginning to produce smoke around its edges, the scent of being that of what can only be described as rotting flesh, as his bones attempted to force themselves back into place even with the weight upon his back still.

Miss Freil now stood by the gates, her violet robes catching the light breeze as a smile curled upon her lips, “Good afternoon, young ones and welcome to my Institute. Here you will learn everything from the simplest of maths to the full extent of your magical prowess and how to increase it greatly; as well as the physical counterpart.” She flicked her wrist and in an instant a purple mist coalesced just to her right at eye level, soon taking the form of a floating clipboard and quill. “If you will line up, i will make sure you are all accounted for and then Andwyl and I will give you a short tour before we let you get settled in.” Right on queue the small bird fluttered out of the school’s front doors and perched on top of her slightly ruffled, violet witch’s hat.
