Okay. Time to plant my feet on the ground. To many different ideas, to many different things, its time I put it all together and make one roleplay. Because, in the words of Goku, if I don't, who will?!
So lets crack our knuckles, lick our lips and get our feet wet in the strange world known only as The Multiverse.
The Multiverse, simply put, is a freeform, crossover, creative role play with a basic structured plot dug in to keep the show on its knees. But I know what you're thinking. "What constitutes as okay for a multiverse roleplay? Where are you going to set the limit in power, Caelum?" Well I'll tell you right now you son of a gun, I ain't gonna set the limit. Simply put, The Multiverse will.
But I'm getting ahead of myself. Lets start off from the basics. Imagine, for a moment, your favorite character from your favorite series/game/book, is suddenly transported into a new world, completely devoid of any of the previous characters from said series, game, or book. It could be from any time in the series, any development of the character, hell, it could even be an Alternate Version of a character from the universe (Evil Peter Pan, just for example.) Its freedom, and with this freedom comes the creativity of playing characters you know and love out of (Or in there, depending on who you are playing) Comfort zone! This brings up new opportunities for characters you would have never imagined interacting with each other, like L from deathnote having a cup of tea with Sherlock Holmes.
Now, I know, I see that face you have on there. That googly eye look you're giving me. "But what if I don't wanna play an established character from a series?"
Well, I have an answer for you. Get out. Your original ideas are fine too! New characters, fresh ideas, they are all available. Again, you have total creative freedom here.
HOWEVER, with freedom, comes responsibility. I figure this is self explanatory, but please don't pick Simon the Digger because he can summon giant Space-Sized robots. I'll still be moderating from above, so if you do something too silly or too out of character for the sake of being uber-powerful or spotlighting, I will be forced to ask you to remove/change your post. I'm really sorry, its just a precaution, I swear.
Alternatively, I can let everyone pick whoever they damn well please with no limits to being rediculous- But The Multiverse will sap some of their energy and power to put them on 'level terms' with other folks in The Multiverse. (Aka, if you are Post-GT Goku, your Super Saiyan Four form will only be roughly as powerful as a very, very advanced fighter.)
But that aside, the real question comes out. What in the bloody hell is a Multiverse? Well, that's simple, ya dummy. See, the infinite universes are falling apart, you know? I know, I know, it came as a surprise to me as well. Cracks in reality, space-time being disrupted, all that nasty business. But see, the nice thing about the infinite universes is that they are infinite. But that doesn't mean some can't break apart at times. When they do, the REDACTED transport as many innocents as they can to a safe universe, known only as The Multiverse (The residents haven't given the planet, or the universe, a name yet, so go nuts, you know?). The planet they are brought to, in general, is a large, lustrous place, about 6 times the size of earth (Roughly). The planet has an entire diverse ecosystem and environment, from Arid deserts to Snow filled mountains that peak into the very heavens themselves.
Due to the nature of the Multiverse and the people inside it, of course, the REDACTED will sometimes change the rules, physics, or even the very nature and lay lines of the world to help situate new members. So if your character uses a special kind of magic, you might be in luck, because the REDACTED might just change reality so you can still gain some energy.
Of course, the main idea here is that, yall kids probably want to go home. But its not as simple as that. For our brave, noble heroes to return home, they will have to first figure out their situation- From there, they will have to figure out the source of the destruction of the infinite universes, and finally, fix/fight/face whatever/whoever is causing the destruction. Will they be pleased with the answers they find? Or will they attempt to find a new life and habitat on the planes of The Multiverse? The choice is yours! Freeform will be freeform!
Due to the unstable nature of the Multiverse, of course, some folks can be pulled in and out of The Multiverse. It's just how it goes. Some guy you knew yesterday might disappear the next day without a trace... For what reason, we know not. (This is an excuse for people to pull out and into the roleplay at random. Remember, part of the freedom means people can join whenever they want, once accepted and placed into a proper area, of course.)
So far, that's all I got on this stuff. If you have any questions, hit me up with them. I'll answer each and every one fairly and straightforward. I'm also looking for a few sub-mods to help me organize things, just to make sure things don't go too out of control.
Thanks for reading, and I hope we can get this show on the road! Every thought counts!
EDIT: I'm well aware I typed it FRM instead of FMR, by the way.
