That territory seems... excessive.

EDIT: I'm also not really comfortable having my territory that close to a genocidal faction, so if it *does* stand, I'd very much like to move.

Freeshooter, want some history between our factions? Like a war that has been waging for quite a while? Us being the most aggressive factions, it will be glorious :D

It strikes me that theoretically the IoM territory could be a bit more acceptable if everyone else boosted how much territory *they* cover. Having a more cramped map where people actually share borders might be more interesting than all being isolated with lots of empty space; I just didn't want to make myself too big when I claimed my territory and I suspect I might have set the bar for what was "reasonable".

Well since I currently have no FTL I am pretty much stuck being puny until its discovered or shared. I may have a mass federation of planets once its been installed in ships.

Don't worry, they are extremely weak right now and incapable of launching genocidal rage-crusades.

Maybe your faction is the first one the Terrans were unable to just roll over? Rescources are too scarce for the tried and true tactic of 'drown them in bodies.'

everyone else's territory seemed ridiculously small, and having a small territory myself would compromise the 'implacable militaristic horde that has burned a thousand worlds' imagery I had in mind. That said I personally don't care how big everyone else is.

That doesn't change that I'm very uncomfortable being that close by to them. It's a plot I'm not really interested in ever getting involved in or having significantly impact my worldbuilding.

Terrans or not, war is coming to you. you are REALLY close to the Vazra. Hell, the Terrans'll probably do an excellent job at distracting those monstrosities.

Welp, I said huge, and FUCKHUEG is what I went for.The large blue sphere with the hazard line box is earth.Blue circles are 'Populi' worlds, planets that were 'glassed' from orbit to clear indigenous life to make way for enormous hab-complexes to stash lots and lots of people. The Terrans get most of their recruits from these worlds.Green circles are 'Agri' worlds, worlds designed entirely for farming, so that they may provide the fucktons of food this empire requires.Black and dark yellow boxes are mining worlds, ones that 'core' various rocks out for valuable materials, and double as industrial centers. Many worlds in many systems have been utterly destroyed, and many of these are actually in asteroid fields. Almost all imperial systems have some sort of industrial/mining operation, but the marked ones are the extremely important ones. While enormous, the Terran empire is spread extremely thin, and can only bring but fraction of its might to bear upon any foe, thus their original plan of rapid expansion has slowed down and is now focused almost entirely on securing current lands. Most of their armed forces are also currently employed on the internal zones as 'peacekeepers.'

The Imperium of Man is far too large of a faction for the scale of this roleplay. Advanced Interstellar should be no more than two dozen systems, give or take.

A-Traveller said Advanced Interstellar
Interstellar travel has become significantly cheaper, safer, and easier. Advanced Interstellar factions have many extrasolar colonies across around a dozen or more star systems, and new infrastructure is being built all the time. While they are fairly advanced, they are still mortals and lower ranked factions can still pose a threat to them, though they will be at a significant disadvantage.

The size of the area you, Sigma, and Isotope took up was good for your respective holdings. Everyone else seems to have crammed their holdings together for a star every lightyear, if not more frequently.

I may have to ask everyone with highly dense factions to spread out, and move closer to the center of the map.

You have a strange definition of "close".

In any case, potentially revised size: http://www.kupax.com/files/22778_lbuqi/revisedhexes.png

My faction cannot work conceptually without shitloads of territory. If there isn't many inhabited worlds there aren't many places churning out bodies. If I'm to far away the time it takes to conquer anything would be far too long to allow me to actually interact with anyone, and third if there isn't much 'land' then what has the Empire been doing? jacking off?

No, without the territory I can't have my faction, therefore instead of arguing and arguing and arguing for something I won't be able to have I'll simply withdraw to prevent any arguing or frustrations.

Get a better sense of scale and your faction works fine. Planets are BIG. A dozen or two planets is a LOT, especially when factions like mine (which are supposed to be reasonably-sized civilizations in their own right) have, like, six core planets.

You are underestimating the sheer amount of casualties my brand of warfare produces. Hundreds of thousands of men die in every single battle. so I need a bunch of worlds popping out new soldiers, and a bunch of worlds to arm them.
