*Incarious sat in the tree firing one arrow after another at the queen's men with deadly precision. he then saw a man trip and one of the soldiers about to finish the man off. Incarious pulled back an arrow, aimed at the soldier, and shot him through his helmet right in the eye killing him. All of a sudden a scream was heard from the High Priestess, before he could draw an arrow, Michi leaped at Kali knocking her back. Incarious then started firing arrows at the weak points in Kali's armor. She deflected the first arrow to the neck but then got hit by the second arrow to her left elbow leaving her left arm useless for fighting. Before he could finish Kali off, three soldiers came to her aid and shielded her from Incarious' arrows.*

"Monk, their commander is wounded finish her off!" Incarious yelled to Merek while still firing arrows at the queens men.

Why had she done that? Katrina wondered as she watched the servant get taken away. She hadn't done anything wrong, it was not her fault that she looked how she looked. Katrina pushed the thoughts away. There had to be some fair reason for it. The woman was obviously in opposition to the Gods. To the queen. To the very kingdom itself! Katrina listened as the queen spoke her orders, the calm of her voice contrasting the way it wounded with orders she had just barked to the guards. Katrina's heart skipped a beat when she heard her name, as it usually did when she faced the Queen. They were just basic orders, to her relief. She did not yet have to decide between trial by combat or trial by the Gods, a crossroads in which both paths seemed to lead to death.

Katrina watched as each of the others who had been summoned went up and selected one of the symbols. She watched as Drexel selected the shield, a surprising choice really. She thought that a man, or any one really, who was known for the amount of blood they forced others to shed would prefer an more appropriate symbol. She then watched as Vladmir went up and chose the shield. After she saw the man walking back to his position, she herself got up and walked towards the queen. She held her head down as she walked, and felt the weight of each step weigh down on her. When she finally reached the table, she picked her head up to look at the queen. With a smile, she picked the remaining symbol, not paying attention to which it one was it was.

Katrina focused placed her empty hand on the blade of her sword, Red. The cold of weapon calmed her down, made her feel like she could deal with whatever would come from this. When she knelt down again, she opened her hand and saw a sword. The blade was smaller than that of a normal sword, so it must have been either a dagger or a knife. She clutched it again and awaited her orders, curious as to what mission each weapon lead to. Would she be attacking a group of conjurers? Apprehending members of the Brotherhood? Collecting taxes?

The Bulwark, The Owl, The Smiling Death. They were all present. It seems that Valentina was not the only one curious about something. What she did not expect was the Bulwark's access to knowledge necessary to translate the words of the letter. "Freedom has a way of destruction." What a strange thing to put on a letter in a language such as that. It wasn't entirely wrong, but was that really all there was to the letter? No plea for help? No information on the Mad Queen and her forces?

Valentina guessed that no one else understood what the letter meant. Bulwark did not know, but it seems that he has an idea for figuring it out. He proposed that both The Owl and herself, The Wanderer, Go to a village where The Bulwark had recognized the letter's paper. He felt that they were much better to go than he and the Smiling Death. It was true. Their weapons were a bit too grand and/or unique-looking to prevent attention.

She looked to the Owl, who had started to ask for the objective.

"The Owl asks necessary questions, but I'm assuming that our objective has something to do with understanding the letter?"
