I enjoyed it and found nothing terribly wrong though did want to mention two things for general knowledge. First is that casting a spell doesn't require any magic words, I only say this as in your history you mention the mages in it "uttering words" leading me to think you think it's necessary. Even a mute mage is a dangerous mage. Second, is that both incidents of magic involved fire. Fire magic is essentially dead as Suomyns, the God of the Sun and therefor fire is dead. It still exists though it's a very weak force, it'd be a very difficult and taxing task to do the type of fire magic you spoke of. You can keep it as it is if you wish, just for future reference for everyone involved.

Anyway, I liked it and accept it.

I am finished with everything except Volanna's Magical Attunement, as I'm still waiting for the schools of magic to be updated.

EDIT: Also, is there a specific name for the forests in East Vallake? Or are they simply known as "The East Vallakien Forests" or something similar?

Don't worry, it's primarily just character development that's taken place :))

There's more than one forest, so more than one name. You can make it up, if you'd like. A lot of forests I'd imagine would simply be referred to by the mountain or valley it is located in/around. There's lots of mountains and valleys, so once again you can make it up.

Also, I'm not sure if you are referring to the eastern part of Vallake which touches Laurosa(oh god so many trees) or if you mean east Vallake in reference to Worsenth being called Western Vallake by natives. If the latter, then the forests of "Eastern Vallake" are just known as the forests of Vallake as Worsenth is a plain with no real forests.

she found herself more and more writing stories and technical works reflecting the various issues very few have the courage (or in the first place, the openness of the mind) to write of. These writings include, prominently, the plight of the mages in Lerayis (for obvious reasons), feminism, homosexuality, as well as the intricacies of the human mind.

I have a question, why would she have wrote about feminism and homosexuality when no one cares? For those of Yildeanic faith, there is no sexism as they follow a mortal woman. For those who follow the Gods, Avoda and Cibest are both women. Sexism doesn’t really exist in Lerayis. We’ve had female generals, queens who ruled nations, female Immortals who destroyed armies, men learned long ago that women were just as good as them. If that list doesn’t get them, Cibest will. Cibest has no issues freezing any sexists to death.

As for homosexuality, we have mages to kill no one really cares whether you date Jane or Bob. Or Samantha. You will be thought of as unusual and strange for not marrying and having kids but, not marrying or having kids doesn’t equal gay either. Top it off, the very god of joy Apholi loves everyone. I really do mean everyone.

PrinceOfQuills said Swooping through vines, leaping from branches, walking mutely with a stance that could soothe many an animal

Evergreen forest. Vallake is made up of evergreen forests. This girl has never seen a vine in her life.

Other than that, she's accepted.

I'll go change some details, thanks :)

Just a question to the GMs. How long have you guys been formulating this RP? The lore is (positively) astounding to be honest :D

EDIT: Sheet updated.

I don't recall how long, exactly. I believe we started work on it last year, some time during the summer. Late summer, I think.

Thanks! We worked hard on all that.

I'll check over your sheet tomorrow and let you know what I think. I will also make it a point to get the magic schools (and my other CS) up ASAP.. (Sooooorrrrrrrry~...again)

Got some homework to do, so I'm off. Have a good night, everyone.

I've kept in the 'uttering words' bit as it just reads better, though I understand what you mean about a mute mage being deadly as well. As for the effects of the magic, I've changed it to what I would personally attribute to the works of a death mage, albeit I added a little bit of a visual cue for dramatic effect.

Okay, so I'm putting together my CS, and I'm thinking about making my character's origin in the Hattavori Desert.

I was just wondering, what are some of the cultural caveats/history/relationship to the Gods of the people in the Desert? Would there be tribes of mages there?

To help answer your second question...

(Sicarius, 2014)

Sicarius said
The mage tribes are all from mostly either the Godwates or some, though very few that the Vigil cares about, from the Hattavori desert far to the south.

You plan on rolling a magically-inclined character somehow? :)

I was just thinking that hahaha. Which is weird because our characters are supposed to be mage hunters :D

EDIT: Oh wait, there's Atheris (Sicarius) and Morben (Saber). The non-mage population could still use some love though hahaha

I plan on having two characters actually lol. One is a non-magically inclined character from the Hattavori (the steppe-archer dude), so yes, Remnant, you're not the only one!
'
The other character I'll have to plan with the GM's a bit. I was thinking about this mage who is gradually being destroyed by his/her power but must use it to keep their physical form together (think Darth Sion from Kotor II) but is somehow trying to help the mage hunting party. Not sure yet but I have a few ideas.

Posted up the 'Dead Schools' of magic. They're the ones you can't use. I'll get the important ones up as soon as I can. The second set will be a little more detailed, I promise.

babbysama: I've got no problem tossing around ideas with you. Shoot me a PM and I'll get to you in a couple of hours.

PrinceOfQuills: Accepted. Looks fine.

EDIT:

Will finish these up in a little while.

Hello, sorry for getting at you so late I couldn’t gather my thoughts yesterday. Anyway, the Hattavori desert is made up of three regions and since the gods’ death has had a cultural decline and political instability. Though, I won’t get much into the different regions as they matter little and no one north of the border even considers the fact there’s more than one culture or people there(Don't even try telling them the south isn't only made up of sand). They’re racist like that.

The Gods’ death shattered the South’s culture and stability, as Suomyns’ death made the stritai(southern dragons, much smaller than their northern cousins and much more friendly) become hostile and near usable. Before then, they relied on the dragons for much of their income & travel, the whole culture was built on using these animals. It could be comparable to horses or camels suddenly trying to eat their owners back when everyone relied on them. It was a big deal.

Those who lived(or moved into) the cities were forced to convert to the Yildeanic faith, to keep the trade routes open and keep the support of central Lerayis. As such, most that live there speak mostly Lerayissian and have forgone most of their heritage.

Those who refused to convert, for whatever reasons, have mostly gone back to the nomadic lifestyle their ancestors had and no longer have any contact with the cities. The population of nomadic people is unknown, and how many mages live there is also unknown. Not all nomadic tribes are mage tribes, and some tribes do not trust mages either. If anyone wishes to make someone from a southern tribe, you may really do whatever you want with them as they have no true common ground among them anymore.

Heyheyhey!

I have a fair amount of time left in the day! Finished and posted up the first two of the Living schools of magic! Up next will be Cibest.

They should all be going up today, barring any terrible happenstance.

Just thought I'd drop the line and let you all know.

Gonna get back to work,
Saber.

P.S:

EDIT: Magic schools are up.

Under which God/dess would lightning be a sphere of? And can we be magically attuned to one among the Dead Gods?

Lightning comes under Avoda. Yes, you may be attuned to a dead god but it will be essentially null as you will be unable to use the magic the mage is attuned to and as such, may not be even known.
