Hi, all. Thanks for clicking (:

It's been a while since I posted an interest check, so I apologise in advance if this comes out sloppy. I'll just try my best to articulate my idea and cross my fingers, heh.

Before we get down to business, let me know if you have any "limits", as they say. Personally, I have very few myself (the main one being that I request you be older than eighteen, due to "adult" content), but if you feel like you should let me know should you have any limits with anything, don't hesitate to tell me, especially considering the "adult" themes this RP will be touching on (alcohol abuse being one of them). The one thing I'll get out of the way now (we can discuss more via PM), is that I really hate it when romance (and all that comes with it) is forced. Yes, it can be great for character development and such, but I don't do romance or smut for the sake of it. The reason I bring this up is because it is a FxM pairing, and people sometimes think I'm trolling for something soppy and romantic, and that's really not what the plot for this particular RP is going to revolve around.

The setting is mid to high fantasy, so expect orcs, elves, centaurs, etc. The world itself is loosely based on the mid/late-Georgian era, with some mild Mediterranean and Middle Eastern influence.

As for the place that needs to be filled, I'm looking for someone to play a washed-up, borderline alcoholic ex-General, who was dishonorably discharged from the royal army for refusing the hand of the king's sister. The rest of his back story, and his personality, is completely up to you.

As for the dark priestess, you'll find out a bit more about her in the plot outline.

Another thing I should mention is that I would prefer this RP take place via PM - I'm self-conscious about my writing (I'm one of those people that thinks everything I write is a train wreck). While we're on the topic of writing, while I am looking for an "advanced" level RP, something more on the laid back side of things would really be ideal for me at the moment. I currently already have two other games going, and I have a part-time job, and university, so I'll be honest with you and tell you now that I can really only post once a week maximum.

Now that we have that out of the way, let's get to my idea, shall we?
The kingdom of Karingaal has been under the rule of the despot king, Serus L'Maarth, for four years. His soldiers and city/town guards extort, rob and terrorise the general public at will, and those who so much as protest their actions are treated with a visit to the dungeons.

Both the ex-General and dark priestess attend an underground gathering of citizens in preparation of revolution in the seaside city of Morbasa, which has kept Serus's troops under control for the most part.

During the meeting, the priestess recognises the ex-General from an encounter two years earlier - one that both began and ended with he and his men savagely beating herself and a few other dark priests and priestesses that dared remain at the temple in Morbasa after Serus had declared all dark magicks punishable by death. The beating was just a "friendly warning" to give up their "debaucherous" and "impure" lifestyles. Fearing for her life, the priestess fled the temple as soon as her injuries had healed, and eventually turned to a life of thievery and begging.

After the gathering, the priestess confronts the swordsman, and drama (specifically violence and dark magicks) ensues. Exhausted by their fight, and bested by each other, he offers they team up and help do something about Serus.
Of course, the two of them wouldn't be able to take on a whole army by themselves - even just getting the priestess on board with his idea is going to take some sweet talking on his part. Their ultimate goal would be to gain help in the resistance movement by helping out other people (temporary/secondary characters that may or may not pop up again given the situation) in exchange for their alliance in the impending revolution. The RP would be less action based (don't get me wrong, I love a bit of ultra-violence and gore), and more centred around character and plot development.

Whether we start things off immediately after the fight, or towards the end of the meeting so we can run through the whole confrontation is up to you. Or if you'd rather discuss the advantages and disadvantages of both, then go from there, I'm fine with that, too (:

For those of you who made it this far, thank you for your patience, and for reading through all of that. If you're interested or have any questions, send me a PM and hopefully we can work something out, and don't be scared to make suggestions!
