If you're interested, betelgeuse, I've got some Mutants and Masterminds (D20 Superheroes) books I could share with you for a broader range of powers if you don't feel like doing all the legwork yourself or run out of things to think of.

I had a few questions, though:

Can we have multiple characters? I've got an old standby I like to stick with for superhero types of games (a gravity manipulating young adult) but have a few other characters I'd like to pass by you.

Also, should we wait until the OOC is up to post characters or no? Character thread, maybe?

I'm glad to see the interest build as well! Any books would be helpful, I'll be working on an OOC (basically just cleaning up the original post) and get it up before the end of the week.

You're more than welcome to three characters, as long as it's not too overloaded to the point where you get writer's block for three different story lines. The main point of this game is that I don't want people to drop out- this is an open world where we can create all the history and background we want.

Feel free to toss up character profiles and ideas- I'm going to do the same as well. Finished profiles can be placed in the OOC and then linked into charcater thread.

Yaaay! I can't wait to see everyone's characters! I'm setting mine up but I'm a little confused with the skill sets :( Just to be clear, there are 18 different skills to chose from correct? Can you explain the difference between Brawl and Melee as well as Agility and Dexterity?

Also, in the example you posted Betelgeuse, you distributed points to several of the main stats then came up with unique character specific stats to put points in. Is that how we're supposed to create our characters, with a combination of both? Are we supposed to come up with like one or two unique stats then the rest are from the main stat list?

The main thing everyone was discussing on the last page was whether the skills should be set at five, fifteen, or an open ended option of skills to choose from.

I posted my own list of 18 skills but while working on my own characters, found that I couldn't customize their powers the way I wanted. (For example, I couldnt differentiate between force fields and magnetic manipulation but would have to lump them both under Psionic and just 3 points)

I personally feel like an open amount of skills to discuss in order to not let anyone be over powered is the best option.

Got my character prepped and ready to go for the OOC! Skills were picked out using the open method. Admittedly, still a work in progress, though. I have a habit of drawing my characters out, and her portrait just got done but I need her "Uniform". If anyone else has their character done, want to work together with backstory/rivalries/nemeses?

Fantastic! Ill have the OOC and my two profiles up by the end of the day. So far I'm going with a neutral magnetism super that can be swayed to either side and a billionare heiress with investments in almost every business in town and a sort of mobstress of the city.
