Marumasa spent his childhood in the slums as his mother slaved away trying to make ends meet. He became a bit of a crook in his teens and learned many skills making him deceitful, easy to lie and hard to trust. He eventually taught himself how to hunt when trying to put food on the table as his father disappeared a long time ago without a word, his mother refrains from speaking about the long lost father and says that they are better off without him. After years of hunting, Marumasa turned 17 and begun taking on different kinds of hunts, people (well not killing them, just tracking them down and maybe killing the odd crook if they got in his way). Eventually he even rebuilt his measly brass rifle into a fully functional steam sniper, and thus Nora was born.

Marumasa never trusted humans, to be honest his line of work as a Hunter, (both of game and people) he never really trusted anyone, people were too loud for him, he wanted quick access to money, enough to help his mum live. One day his mother finally earned enough money for them both to leave town for good, but Marumasa had other ideas, he wanted to join an airship. He had honed his sharpshooter skills and his ability to deceive others to become a famous hunter. Once he has become famous he would be able to earn unimaginable amounts of could, and one way to do that is to join the crew.

a year later and aged 18, he had joined the legendary crew, their captain told him little of the missions that he had to face, but his recent mission was risky, but fun. Their prisoner was none other than the Nekojin gun slinger known to his kind, Teia from the clan Darkmoon. in comparison to her clan Marumasa's clan was a measly hunter type clan, originated from the woodlands the Kaizer are primitive hunters, the Blake clan on the other had are lowlife thieves that usually strike at night in large towns. Marumasa is and odd character, as he is silent and barely speaks to others, he only selectively opens himself to others under certain conditions and his only one true friend is Nora (his sniper rifle) and usually hates loud people. He had grown up with a passionate hate for humans, thus usually staying far away from them, since they caused both his and his mothers life to be hell. On the other hand once you remove the hard exterior and the socially awkward aura he produces he is a chatter box and probably never stops talking be it another nekojin, a human, a half elf, he becomes accepting of anyone. But that is rare, super rare.
