I think it's a little corny to begin with. And then I think that the news making a spectacle of it is super irritating. And then there's the fact that I've seen the story a dozen times.

Thing is the Olympics are literally *all* 'on repeat,' at all times, all day. Especially on the regular NBC channel (MSNBC, NBCSports, et al are generally showing long contests only once). So everything is exacerbated.
