That makes sense, should give us some nice action to start with. I guess he/she should be captured from near his rebel base rather than on a mission. Oh, that's another question, how do we want to gender these pairings*?

*Slow turn* Uuuuummmmm. . . . I can't do M/F or F/F. I myself am a homosexual male, and have no real grasp on either being a girl or for lack of a better term, wooing a girl.

As for when he is captured, I'd say, maybe a betrayal? One of his rebels was enslaved without anyone knowing it and he uses his/her influence to maybe stage a mission where the Brother would be waiting to capture him? What do you think?

EDIT:

Character Quick Referance -

Ahh, that's fine; I can do M/M. I myself am an asexual, polysensual female... which doesn't fit well into most stories... so I've never had much of a problem playing any gender pairing.

I love it! That could be very fun to play out.

Yes indeed. So, which do you wanna work on first, Plot or setting? I find it helps me focus if I pick one, then work on it primarily while stringing in pieces of the other, if that makes any sense.

I suppose setting first. What technology level are you thinking for this?

I was thinking a odd mix of advanced and Victorian England. A world where advancement wasn't headed by weapons, but by some other front like travel or genetics. The clothing styles would be mid to late English, but the buildings and vehicles would be maybe on par with i Robot. My guy, I can already tell, will be a lover of old things and live in a Victorian style villa with it's technological enhancements very subtle but powerful.

Sounds very interesting. I might have trouble playing it since that mixture is new to me, but I'm certainly intrigued enough to try it.

I'm going to get that this system of slavery has been around for at least hundreds of years. Do we want to go into the history of how it was instituted? I'm imagining a time when vampires were the evil creatures of lore, stalking the night and such, and then humanity discovered a toxin or something that helped them overcome them. Then the enslavement started as revenge and became a way of life. That's just the first theory that comes to mind, however.

I'm glad you find it intriguing. As for how long it's been around, yeah, hundreds. Evil creatures of lore, yup. As for how it came to be. . . Since we have multiple immortals and creatures to go with on this, I'd say the tech followed a genetic and biological route that allowed humans to come up with something or another that would weaken the immortals and beasts, and combined it with a mystical element to ensure enslavement. Like, for the Weres, a collar which keeps them in check, for faeries a web to keep them where you want them, for the Fae an addiction they can't escape. I like the idea of each race being handled differently, and the bonding with vampires a very different experience from the enslavement of the other races. Like, the guy has to drink something if he want the vampire to be entirely his rather than just another slave who has to stay by their master's side from a more shallow kind of bond. The other vamp in his service could be bonded in the shallow way, giving him more freedom to express himself or have minor rebellions, while what the human wants for the rebel is far crueler :P *Lets mean streak show*

Alright, fair enough. I do like the idea of having different methods. It could lead to a nice "preference based" market for how you own your slaves.

The idea I had for the character who is already a slave, was that he had been bonded to the family for generations, perhaps even since the initial enslavement of vampires. At first he resisted like anyone else, and was forced into it with starvation. Maybe the bond with his first master or two in the family was of the more invasive, and then as he became more docile, he became more of an adviser and butler to the his later masters.

*Nod* *Nod* Yush, very classic idea.

So what do you think about the idea of spiking the blood to make the bond more potent?

The works for me. Spiking the human's blood with some soul binding gem dust or something? What would the differences be between a "normal" bond and an "invasive" one?

It is designed to capture the will, rather than just making it so the vampire can't harm you. Like taking control of both body and soul. He would still be himself, but he would be unable to deny his master anything. In a normal bond, the vampire can't leave the master, or hurt them, and the invasive bond makes it so that the vampire doesn't even WANT to leave them. He can still argue and disagree with the human, he just ends up submitting out of instinct. I see the seven doses take quite a while to administer, and in between a lot of tension, drama, and interplay.

Sounds lovely. And very fun to play out, that internal turmoil.

Indeed. I think we're almost set. I'd like to get an idea of the city/town this all goes down in. I see the capture taking place in an old factory or warehouse, my guy is already set to be in a villa, and I see the slave market place being somewhat important. It would be, a ways from the guys house, but maybe only a short drive away, and I can see the brother having his own place somewhere on the grounds, not in the main house. What are your thoughts?

Hmm, since the slavery of magical creatures is such an integral part of the society, I would think having the marketplace in the city/downtown area would be a good way to symbolize that.
The villa idea always works. Powerful and somewhat cruel men and mansions just sort of go together.
The rebel cell could be in a warehouse near to the marketplace. Perhaps one of their specialties is capturing slaves before they are sold?

My thoughts exactly. So he'll have one of those places that's walled off but sorta close to the downtown without being in the thick of things. *Evil laugh* I think the capture point and the rebel base should be different places, that way he can have hope that the rebellion continues without him. A little sparkle of hope that those he's trusted over the years are still alive and free :P The turned one could come to the leader with info that slaves to go on the market the next day are being kept in the warehouse and the guards are incompetent :P

So basically, you want to design it so that he has a little hope left and then be able to quickly crush it yourself. Lovely! No seriously, I have a strange and unfortunate love for that kind of plot.

Anything else to decide?

No problem, I can play sadistic very well, and in my writing, can even enjoy it :P I think all we need it the starting point, maybe a bit on what the capture point looks like, and characters! I think for the starting point, maybe a few days before the capture? The CP, I'm seeing an abandoned factory with old machines and stuff laying about. A place where an ambush could be pulled off without needing too many guys, or needing to kill en-mass.

Your thoughts?

We need to figure out how he was tricked. Some false information on where some slavers were keeping the slaves? Maybe it could be at a warehouse owned by a Hunter company (or individual) and that person got a bit of a cut for the capture. It has to seem plausible enough that an experienced resistance leader would go for it, is the thing.

I thought we agreed on a recently captured Vampire who was once a trusted person by the Rebel Leader would supply the information? Oh, and did you see what someone did to our IC?
