Name: Nathair Lysander
Appearance:
Details not shown and ignoring the fact he’s got a tiger strip Tarzan outfit on:
Nathair stands at 5’8” in height and weighting in at 173 lbs., he prefers to wear close to the skin outfits making them feel like a second skin. For a mission he wears a basic outfit consisting of a shirt, worn jeans, and thick sole boots while in casual he might be willing to sport something more normal. His arms have the aged hid of some unidentified animal, teeth and claws, self-woven bands and salvage from the ship wreck fashioned as seen in the image. In time they have been altered/mended with newer materials over the years after being adopted but still continue to look close to the origins due to sentimental reasons. Often he carries a small knife usually attached to his hip under the clothing, a safety precaution and very useful tool if he was ever left to once more survive in the wilderness. His long, unkempt hair is dark brown and bound in makeshift ties likely adding to his serious look.
His most notable trait is the variety of continuous tattoos running his whole body, similar to birth marks, seen on his exposed flesh. They travel from head to toe, creating a dragon and floral pattern, and covering over the healed scars. The cause or reason for it is unknown despite the number of theories. Only thing that’s been confidently determined is they have no supernatural properties and a recessive trait.
Bio:
Little is known about Nathair’s past before the island or his origins because he remembers nothing beyond the wreck. Just being washed upon the shore and clinging for dear life onto some saltwater soaked plank. He was young, six or seven, and suffering though a lot on his first day ashore. There were a number of carnivorous animals and monsters that roamed the over grown area added to the endless sea, the island was the only home he had known for six years after. It was its own isolated and untamed. Just a child and severing from a first encounter, Nathair did the best he could on the first night. It wasn’t enough and only a prelude for future terrible nights ahead of him.
That was before Quetzalcoatl appeared and everything changed. The small winged serpent just came out of nowhere one day bearing a fresh, still wiggling, bass within his jaws. Nathair almost mistaken the snake for another of the island’s dangerous wildlife and instantly braced to die right there, too weak to run away. His closed eyes only to open at hearing the serpent’s deep voice speak to him in reassurance. As the days turned into weeks and finally into years, Nathair and Quetzalcoatl soon became the lords of their small island world. After having only his spirit as his company, the boy melded well into his surroundings both physically and mentally. Despite the fact Quetzalcoatl could fly away, never once had Nathair ever had the desire to leave the island at least until the day the strangers came ashore. The strangers were Librarian holders sent to investigate reports of a flying serpent over the uncharted island. They didn’t once realize it might’ve been more than a rare monster sighting. For over a month Nathair hid himself well, stalking and studying them, as curiosity kept him close but his fear limiting him to the shadows. It didn't take long for the holders spotted signs of human presence when the boy became careless, starting a manhunt for what they believed was poachers. Their swept across the island pushed Nathair, unknowingly hunting the boy into the edge of a cliff, forcing him and his spirit to fight. It wasn’t until after they beat Quetzalcoatl did they realize who the winged serpent belong to. Snarling and terrified at being defenseless, Nathair made the only choice he could: jumping off the cliff edge and into the sea. They finally fished the kid out afterwards, looking like a drowned rat. It was a nickname that followed him after he bit and scratched a few holders in the rescue attempt...
With no id or clues to his past added to the fact he was a holder, added to the fact he was a young holder, the Library had little options left to them. They couldn’t just allow the child into social services and hope the damage would be minimal or could they forcefully employ him in his current wild state. The risk was too great. Currently the boy’s future undecided, a holder by the name of Chelsea Lysander had remained with the boy and slowly gained some footing with him. She was spryly widow that was transferring to the Administrate branch after this mission, most believe she had no business in taking on such a wild responsibly as Nathair but she felt it was her duty to ensure Nathair would have a happy life. With aid from the Library, she managed to adopt the boy in less than a week which concerned her at first but Ms Lysander didn’t question after she was made the primary guardian.
Raising a wild child wasn’t easy for Ms Lysander while for Nathair, adapting to society was much harder. Nathair remembered leaving many scratches in his unruly youth when first learning. Thankfully his new mother was a patient, kind and forgiving woman and a Bishop. This made it easier to stand her ground whenever Quetzalcoatl went against her authority and reprimand. She named the boy Nathair and giving him her last name. Over the years he learned to willingly shift his spirit from one form to the other, and the basics of the modern age. Daily progress reports were made throughout Nathair’s life by Miss Lysander back to the Library until he turned 18. They only stopped because it was the age his employment began and requested placement in the Administration like his mother. Currently his adopted mother still works in the office as secretary, 62 and healthy, since she doesn’t have the skill she once had to go on missions anymore. Nathair keeps in touch with her and spends a lot of his time in the Library, working and keeping a place of residence near his mother.
During the Liaison’s promotion, Nathair found himself torn between loyalty to his job and friendship when one of his closest comrades had been part of the conspiracy. He was one among the seriously injured during the event, suffering several wounds from broken bones to a punctured lung, after being tossed close range into the wall by the Rook before his spirit could brace him. Quartz of course took after the man but ceased when Nathair called him back, both hurt and confused, bring his loyalty into question when he allowed the escape. After treatment and rough questioning, Nathair was in the clear to continue employment. The damage was already done and now Nathair wouldn't be surprised if some doubted his innocence since. With many of the branches thin in staff, it opened up new opportunities. Nathair had a chance to increase his skill knowledge and ability for the future, making up for his human limits with knowledge and connections. He still works and is registered with the Administration branch but he volunteers with jobs in Research, Medical, Culinary and Mercenary from time to time.
Branch: Administration Branch
Holder: Knight
Spirit: Quetzalcoatl
Reaching 20 foot in length and bright emerald green scales, Quetzalcoatl is a giant feathered serpent complete with bird like wings. On his head is a set of two tan horns, they curve back and into a feather crest similar to a crown against his skull back. A bit farther along the spine lies a ridge of feathers, sprouting small then melding back into the scales just at a few inches from where the wings joint to the body. Each individual feather starts off a vibrant blue that gradually dulls into a dark brown at the tip. The tips of his snout and tail also have the same dark brown coloring, while his tail tip is covered in a small fan of the same feathers.
Quetzalcoatl, or Quartz as he prefers (His full name noted to be hard to say correctly so he created a nickname and based on a mineral with similar spelling), at most times is compassionate, social and enjoys the simplicity in life. Nathair is the quieter of the two, often leaving an opportunity for the winged serpent to take the lead in social interactions and freely speaking, sometimes leaving his holder wishing to melt into the floor. Despite Quartz’s tendency to take over social occasions the spirit trusts his Knight can take care of himself in the heat of battle, both spirit and human playing off each other’s strengths and weaknesses as they’ve always done in the past. This has resulted in the Aztec god viewing Nathair to be equal on the mental playing field even when he is clearly lacking in the physical one and deep companions in this walk of life for however long Quartz can make it last.
Weapons/Spells:
Divine Wings: Thanks to the magic in his feathers and wings, Quetzalcoatl is given the ability to fly that otherwise isn’t logical for a serpent his size. However this doesn’t affect any carried weight and so any weight not his own can affect the height the winged god can achieve, heavier it is then less height. It also limits his mobility through the air making Quetzalcoatl’s natural grace more cumbersome and slow.
Serpent Skin: Quetzalcoatl’s able to change his mass by shedding several times into any size when focusing upon his skin, either to extend or shrink the length and thickness of the scales beneath. He can range from his colossal 20 foot in length to that of an average garter snake merely by shedding off the old size. Unfortunately, while his stats aren’t affected, Quetzalcoatl’s size can affect his reach, range and effectiveness in the situation. Depending on how drastic shift in size is, morphing to another size can take time and several extra layers later if the difference between them is extreme.
{Active}Camouflage Scale: Focusing on the composition of the scale’s surface rather than the thickness and length, Quetzalcoatl is enabled to change his skin’s appearance. It’s now able to bend light around his surface resulting in making him nearly invisible to the naked eye. While in this skin he is unable to shift size, requiring him to shed the current one, or change into his spirit form without first dropping the invisibility. The effect lasts for 3 posts, ending immediately if he’s hit or the outer skin is damaged to reveal the snake underneath and forcing Quetzalcoatl to cast it off. Cool down is 7 posts once the effect has ended.
Aztec Winds : A god of the winds, this serpent can use the air around him as his weapon upon his whim. Using his tail, fangs or wing tips for a focus point for his manipulation of the wind, Quetzalcoatl can rapidly move it around the limb to become sharp and strong enough to cut into flesh, wood, stone and most metals easily.
{Active}Gale Burst: Proving he is the master of the wind, Quetzalcoatl shifts his Aztec Winds into his bite. By compressing it within his maw, Quetzalcoatl lets the pressure build for one post to charge. During this time Quetzalcoatl is immobile and venerable, unable to move until he’s released it. Once let go, it sends a single shot in a straight line with enough force to knock anything or one in its path right off their feet. Cool down is 4 posts.
