That would have been helpful earlier, you sounded condescending, aggressive, rude and brash. as if the fact that you didn't agree with the things I had put in place to keep people from just doing a stupid made you above everyone.
It's technically not my fault that it was interpreted the way it was. I even recognized that it was abrasive after the fact. This is why text is so dangerous.
It may be your opinion, i have lots of opinions, such as I think that your interlinking of phoenixes and dragons is ridiculous. not least because it has little to no logical basis and its just a propensity for starting fights.
If this isn't an environment where opinions cannot be shared openly, then I worry.
It's not supposed to have a logical basis because it's mythology, but here is of what it is based. (This is not the site I originally found this)
http://www.holymtn.com/teapots/LegendPhoenixDragon.htmHere's another good example: (Go to Chinese Phoenix)
http://www.mythicalrealm.com/creatures/phoenix.htmlI found one!
http://www.onmarkproductions.com/html/ssu-ling.shtml#redbirdAnd if that's a concern for you, I would have no problem discussing it and omitting it, should that be necessary. This should be a collaboration and I'm not here to go over anyone, even if my opinions might sound like I believe I should.
"Atleast in my eyes." There's the downfall of this entire point, In your eyes, yes, in the eyes of the GM, no. While within the walls of this thread I am Judge, Jury, Arbitrator and the Law. with the soul exception of when every other player disagrees with me. at which point I will agree. If I deem it important then it shall be treated as such. if you disagree with my opinion, you are allowed to voice it, but not in such a manner, it would have been far less argumentative to put it in in the first place and just pm me asking why I would do such a thing, or make a little joke out of it. rather than start an entire argument.
And that is why we should have a discussion about it. Instead of being absolute or refusing to consider the other's point, confrontation is bound to arise.
I didn't even voice it any particular manner. I just said that I disagree with it and that is why it is missing. There was nothing to interpret from it other than the fact that I disagree with the least important thing in this RP. I didn't believe it deserved a PM because of how matter-of-fact it was. That post wasn't meant to cause such an uproar, and I can't say all the fault lies with me. I thought I knew why you would do it (and I did) and making a "little joke" out of it isn't really necessary. Now you're just saying I have to make everything flowery and walk of eggshells across my keyboard when that's not the most productive or necessary when we could just have an open forum. You could have just said to my post "Well, I need it in the CS to be accepted. I need to make sure you've read the OP. This isn't just for you, it's for everyone." And I wouldn't have been so butthurt over it. No niceties, no emoticons. Just to-the-point and direct.
Well you acted like it.
Again, the fault does not lie with me on this one. I never said it was stupid and foolish and a waste of everyone's time. There is no reason that should have come across in what I have written thus far.
my response indicates my opinion towards this point. being offended or not agreeing with someone does not suddenly give you some magical rights or change the situation,
I don't recall trying to assume magical powers and changing the situation. Again, I simply stated that I disagreed with something minute and insignificant. I was not the one to blow it out of proportion.
please link me to the exact point where I say that quote, I bet you your existence on the guild that I didn't. Do not mis-quote me or make statments up.
http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/1114/posts/ooc?page=2#post-34028 "But that makes sense because you need to re-read the rules."
http://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/1114/posts/ooc?page=2#post-4763 "Still missing something, try reading the rules."
You never said "obviously you haven't read them," but as my post was misinterpreted, I took these statements as patronizing.
Why? this makes no sence, I wished for it to be explained in any shape or form. history or otherwise, it is a illogical statement, and it needs a grounding for it to be used.
How is that at all illogical? It's basic psychology and sociology. There is nothing confusing or unfounded about this at all. It's true with me, actually. If you had said this when asking for it, I would have known you didn't understand this characteristic. But the way in which you presented it made it sound as if it held some importance to something. Telling me to do something without explaining it at least minimally will lead to confusion and slight resistance on my part (not that I showed any resistance in the first place). If it's important to the RP, then I can see the importance. But I don't see how a personality trait such as this would be so important.
I don't need a lot of sources, just one to prove its a real monster. also if you THAT lazy then you really should have just dumped them in to a word document
I did not realize what that was for, then. I also wasn't of the mind to track all the sites I used while researching. Even now I cannot find the site I referenced. I was not lazy, I was just forgetful during that time which lead to issues down the road.
Oh I did, however I chose to ignore them because they did not meet with the rules, you could have just solved this by leaving it as it was and copy pasting the relevant chunks of history in to the required slots. but ofcorse you are always in the right and the GM is always wrong. so in your self-righteous way you started a argument.
I don't see the need to be so strict with the format. Doesn't it show greater attention when I realize I filled out a field earlier and didn't need to re-write it? Regardless, it's just that I have a thing about reiteration and I hate re-stating something in my CS's. If you told me you wanted it to be able to more easily reference to it yourself in the future, I would have done so. But I can't imagine that come up. I also can't imagine others looking over my CS's to a degree where it's necessary. I never gave the impression that I was above you, you must have done that yourself. I also never started an argument. It is not because of me that we are here. My statement of disagreement was taken out of proportion.
Well I'm glad you have a little respect for the GM, even if its less than I would have for a Jehovah's witness waking me up at six in the morning. and if you knew it why didn't you just do as asked? no, don't answer that, I don't want another argument
I don't think you have the authority to measure my respect towards you. I actually have great respect because you're sitting there insulting me up and down. We can have this discussion (which is not an "argument" in the socially perceived sense) which is why I'm even still here. And I did willfully disobeyed because I wasn't provided a "good enough reason" to obey at the time. Instead, I decided to state that I disagreed, which is actually something we should be able to do without consequence (and is actually a positive life skill).
Well I do, so maybe you should do as the Guy running the show in this thread asks you to? I'm not asking you to bend on one knee and swear fealty to me, just make it easy for everyone to compare caricatures and keep everything in a neat order.
I already did, actually.
Some of your previous statements describe otherwise.
How does "the answer is 42" make everything neat and comparable? (This is a legitimate question even though Silver Fox has already provided an answer.)
