I may have some prayers to add later, I have had ideas for a few bouncing about my head for a bit now. I do have a question though, are we starting off from what we have in the titan pad, or are we just totally rebooting this?
Name: Silthryk Nandaalo
Age: 42, though due to his half-blooded heritage, he looks half that.
Race: Half Elf
Appearance: Standing at a mere 5'2" and weighing in at around 130 pounds, Silas doesn't strike an imposing figure. His build is lean but strong, with lithe toned muscle and sturdy but supple limbs. Prominent cheek bones, a fine “button” nose and oval face combined with full lips and wide eyes give him a boyish charm that isn’t helped by his height. His skin is a lightly tanned olive that is smooth except for his hands and forearms, which are covered with a smattering of scars he gained from being too careless and curious around hot metals and too reckless in skirmishes. His hair is a rich brown-black that falls to just below his shoulders, with the sections at the temples braided and pulled to the back of his head where they meet then hang to rest with the bulk of his hair, accompanied with two thin feathers. His round eyes are a hazy mix of grey and spring green and lined with thick, dark lashes. His most notable features are a set of fairly long, expressive elven ears and slit pupils much akin to a feline’s, along with angular mehendi tattoos which cover his upper back, shoulders and the back of his hands/wrists. These are in the style of his mother’s people, and mimic the set she had.
His clothing is reminiscent of that of a craftsman, with loose fabrics and thick leathers that give him ease of movement. An un-dyed muslin tunic and dark, loose-fitting trousers are layered over with a metal-smith’s half apron slid to one side and two colorful, patterned sashes from his homeland, along with two belts which sport an assortment of water-sealed leather pouches, thongs to hang jars and other items from as well as a sheath for his dirk and special pouch for his blowgun and darts. He has a set of light armor he wears when needed: a single hard-leather spaulder on the right side, held in place by a “Y” harness across the chest that has a small pouch for quick-use items, Tough leather bracers that have thin metal plates sewn in and simple, relatively flat hard-leather kneepads. He also frequently wears fingerless leather gloves and has a dark cloak that wraps and drapes in the fashion of his family’s homeland as opposed to the straight-cut, collared cloaks and cowls that tend to be fashionable in the west.
Personality: Sil is headstrong and usually rather upbeat, tumbling through life in what seems to be a haphazard manner. While he has a general care-free and “go with the flow” mentality, he works well under pressure, being able to think on his feet and improvise with ease. Although, it is hard for him to stay serious and focused for long, as his mischievous nature and odd sense of humor are apt to shine through at any given moment.
History: Sil's father comes from a fairly long line of blacksmiths and craftsmen that originated in the sand-covered east, their fine metal pieces frequently used in the bartering with the west. His mother was a Baykus, a type of nocturnal elf that lives high in the trees of the coastal forests that borders the deserts. The two were certainly an odd pair, turning heads and gathering rumors like the wind gathers sand. Still, they happily raised their son with little actual turmoil, Silthryk learning much in the ways of human smithing and Baykus herbalism. Eventually, he chose his father’s profession and through mentoring of his uncles, he not only learned blacksmithing, but sword-craft as well. By the time he was twenty-five, he was a skilled apprentice about to leap into a full career of smithing. At least, he would have.
The small family was headed west with a trading caravan, with Silthryk eager to experience the great kingdoms and their marketplaces. However, the band did not make it much beyond the border before they were attacked by brigands looking for goods and gold. In the chaos, Silthryk managed to make it out with his mother and one of his uncles, along with a few others that were part of the caravan. Injured, barely armed and without food or water, the group slowly fell in number until they were found by a band of nomads who took them in. Though they were cared for, Sil’s mother died after a few weeks. It was after this that the young half-breed discovered the nature of the nomads- they too, were rogues and thieves. Though he was outraged to think that the same type that caused the pain were the ones to soothe it, he realized he had nowhere else to go. So, the man found himself learning the ways of the outcasts and over the years his anger seems to have gone- he feels right at home among the nomads and sees them as they see him: family.
Weapons: Thanks to his years with the nomad rogues and inspiration his mother left, Sil has become known for his use of poisons, powders and potions. He is adept at identifying substances and creates his own blends for use in three ways- blow darts made of thorn and feather, clay baubles that burst when thrown, and with his dirk.
His dirk is a unique blade that he designed and crafted. It looks normal enough, plain even- a simple steel blade with brass and wood hilt. However, the pommel twists off to reveal the hilt is hollow with a small, sharp metal tube at the bottom. Sil creates wax cylinders that contain various liquid poisons; these are cartridges which slip into the hilt. Pierced, they stand ready to leak their contents down the fuller of the blade, triggered to do so by a discreet switch on the cross-guard. Due to these customizations, it is not a blade that can hold up to full-on battle, but rather is used for quick and sneaky strikes- just enough to transfer whatever concoction its wielder has put in this time.
Other: Due to his elven heritage, he has slightly heightened senses and has excellent low-light vision. He is very agile and flexible, acrobatics playing a heavy role in his life as a rogue. He also is fairly adept at using healing herbs as well as those that harm.
