Appearance: Hotaru stands at six feet two inches with short wavy hair. She is pale as snow and has dark violet colored eyes. To the untrained eye Hotaru would look like a normal girl. Yet she wasn't, her job required certain things to be done to her. A full augmentation of the body. Where parts where traded out for better ones. There are tiny slits in the skin that would give this away. She wasn't completely cybernetic. There were parts of her that were still human though. That said she is often found in her uniform which will be discussed later. When not in uniform she is often found wearing a simple none sleeved shirt and a black skirt. Her olive shaped eyes give away her nationality. Do to her occupational hazard she also carries around with her a .45 magnum with a heavy frame. This weapon is located at her right hip. When on duty she carries her choice of weaponry. It is a much more modified and specialized P90. She preferred it to most weapons.

Biography:
Hotaru currently works as a member of a special task force. At first she thought it was for special human cases like herself. This task force was titled Section 8, it dealt with very special cases but not human ones. It was formed only recently and so far she has only responded to the after math of whatever was occurring in Mars City. It was weird, for the attacks were not like anything she had ever seen before. She did not ask any questions,... she just did what she was told and cleaned up the mess.

She was once just part of a first response team of the local law enforcement. Due to her skills though and her determination she was hand picked to be part of Section 8 as well as a few other people. Not all were picked from law enforcement though, some where military and other fields.

Her family was chosen for their connections though. Or at least that is what her father claimed. She did not know if he was telling the truth and they were related to some Yakuza family on earth or what. A part of her thought it was bull shit and that her father was just letting his pride do all the talking. All that matters is that she was picked and here she was.

Hotaru's reward for accepting the offer from Section 8 gave her some perks... the first perk was they yanked her brain and internal organs out of her body and then remade her body into a shell. A fully prosthetic body that wasn't just military grade but of the secret kind. Once it was all done she was given the high rank of Section 8's leader. Well the task force that is. What her abilities where... well that is for her to know and for you to find out.

William isn't special. Tall, standing at 6' 2", and not giving too much brawn to show off, he's more of a simple man than a show-off cybernetic attention seeker. Having a dark-brown shade of hair, following the same shading as his facial stubble and brows, he still holds the fairly young and able looks that he should do. His eyes are of an Emerald Green tone, and his hair is short, yet ruffled into a somewhat formal presentation. His body figure seems like the average person, not muscular in any extreme measures and only having small amounts of boasting looks to prove when competition sets afoot. He bares a slightly toned skin shade, due to Mars' bright lightings compared to the dullish countryside of his birthplace. As of Cybernetics, he only has one Civilian Grade enhancement, refusing military gear, for his Left hand.

As for clothing, equipment and looks on and off duty, William is pretty standard. Off duty, it's the simple clothing that's usually trending on the Simple Lives, rather than the High Wealth that bustles around from time to time. On Duty, it's a bit more complex. There are three Uniforms within his department. Formal, Patrol and Field, as they are so nicknamed. Formal [As portrayed in the image above], consists of a trench-coat, usually smartened up for the occasions he is involved in. Underneath is usually smartened up Inspection Uniform, usually given out to those who hold some small levels of authority over the newest of personnel. For the Patrol Uniform, it's a part of the standard City's Patrol Uniform. Due to the increase of Uprisings and Protests, the gear has seen more protective adjustments to suit the safety of the Officer wearing the attire. Field-Uniform is a part of the Unit's Raised Threat Responses Group, where they become more advanced and updated with the Modernised Mars Technology. To suit the Smarter, Inspection Uniform, usually a SH-3LRP is the Primary armament, however, it acts as the Secondary for the Patrol Uniform, having a HC-AR204C to replace its role. It acts as a Close-Quarters to Low-Mid Ranged Combat armament, and provides good coverage for most situations in the tight city-streets if the time needed is close. For Field-Work, the Similar Side-arm is accompanied by a much more adaptable SAR-20 Designated Assault and Marksman Rifle, known for its two variants that More Advanced Units carry, switching between the two depending on the situation [These are separate weapons, variants, and cannot be changed on the fly.]

Biography
Growing up on Mars wasn't as hard as some might imagine. His Father had won the lottery, bringing the spouse and current child with them on the trip to the Red-Wonder. Originating from the remote and rural areas of Scotland, just in sight of the Metropolis and Urban technologies that laid within the Cities, William's Father Henry had quite an exciting idea. The Family had been saving up tonnes of money to simply make a better living, spending huge amounts of periods to prepare for a complete change in lifestyle. Lucky for them, the free-of-charge journey helped with Homesteading in the Mars Urbanisation. Having William as their second child, they began to run their lives as small citizens, taking up simple jobs.

After time passed, Henry changed career paths for the Law Enforcement Forces, who were requesting more Personnel regarding to a increase in Criminal Behaviour in the Lower-City areas. Seeing his Father from that perspective, William idolised him as a hero during his time growing up, inevitably leading to the path he had chosen to take. From the instant he hit 17 years of age, Will set himself up into a space in the all infamous Police Training Facility located in a Tower known as the Needle. Operating as a trainee for 2 Years, he eventually had scored himself a place within its ranks. From the Starting age of 19, starting his placement in the 4th Multi-Task Detachment, he had been on the far lighter patrols. The old uniforms that were usually worn were of much lower protection, looking a lot like older-world uniforms, and having their own three Uniform Styles, whereas they have now changed overtime. When Law Enforcement began to create special Task-Forces, such as the infamous Section 8, Nomad 12 and the now Disbanded Turn-Over Force, the 4th Multi-Task Detachment began to step-up their own uses. Being a Multiple-Tasking Force within the Law's ranks, they were able to have different Specified Operations Groups be permitted into their lines, allowing them to be far more mobile and effective against Criminal and Mass-Citizen Threats.

4th Multi-Task Detachment

This Branch of the City's Enforcement, now branched out to multiple cities and base plates Planet-side, is known for it's involvement in most Higher and Lower Grade Criminal Apprehensions. When local Ministers for the Defences of Civilisation homed within the Government discussed the upgrade of Military and Police Groups, the 4th MTD was selected amongst the two from Law Enforcing sides, the other being the 9th Patrol Unit. Whereas the 9th was upgraded into a First-Response Unit for Vehicular Pursuits and House-Raids, the 4th MTD was changed in a much wider length. It was given 5 more floors to the Needle's structure, being upgraded into different uses for different branches.

The Standard Uniforms were drastically changed, ideal to its role of peace-keeping on the violent streets. A Small Aerial Group were slotted into the ranks, acting as a Transportation and Information Gathering Support for the next group. Apart from the standard Unit that was used in the slightly more larger tasks, an Armoured Police Force was created, simply know as Cairo-3. Cairo-3 was to be a more elite force within the 4th MTD, being used for much larger Operations and Apprehensions. One notable concept of their status is that they are not constantly operational, and are mainly used for Operations that the Higher-Grading Special Forces weren't assigned for. Usually that meant Human, or minor cybernetic, terrorism and criminal organisation was their target, the much larger Cybernetic end of the table being left for those trained to combat the criminal activity. However, Cairo-4 has been known for occasionally taking part in certain operations, one's that were perhaps less Military-Focused. Cairo-4 is mostly made up of the Surviving members of Turn-Over Force, which is 7 Personnel. These are the elected NCOs and COs for the group, ranking above the lower-graded Operatives. However, the slightly-larger majority of the Force is made from 1/10th of the 4th MTD, William being amongst those plans. According to records, there are big plans in the step-up for this unit, as well as them being a big target for some of the more drastic masterminds.

William was elected amongst his Experience within the Force for those involved in Cairo-4. It didn't mean he became a super-soldier, or anything. He was still a simple Police-Officer, trained only with the extension of Tactical Operations. Cairo-4 was a Specified Operations Task-Force, primarily made to handle multiple situations in different environments, with different scenarios, tactics and combat methods to ensure the safety of those within Mars' cities. They aren't often seen in Public, and when they are they aren't specifically recognised, though are known to the Public briefly. They aren't secretive, and that's all William needed. Due to its non-constant service, and only holding times of activation when threats were arisen, William could continue his normal life as it was, as well as continue his service as a Peace-Keeping Officer. However, as time grew, so did threats. With the huge involvement of Cybernetic Terrorism and Crime, Special-Forces of the Military and Law background began to find themselves preoccupied vastly. Cairo-4 were called to assist Hotel Indigo, a Law Force trained to specifically combat Cybernetic Crime, as controversial as some saw it. During a Raid on a small office complex for a successful Cardiac-Cybernet Company, an excessive use of Military Grade body-explosives lead to the loss of his left hand, being peppered with shrapnel before losing its socket in his wrist. That happening two years prior to current times, he's only been supplied with a Civilian Grade replacement, him denying any military versions. It acts just as a replacement hand, rather than improving what it once did. Currently, William is still serving both sides, having small leadership amongst his comrades. Cairo-4 and the 4th MTD, however, are close to finding themselves involved in some of the more big-field cases...

Biography

Born to a prestigious military family, Leonhard Miller never quite knew life outside the walls of the Mars Military Base that he lived inside. His mother was killed in a live fire exercise when he was 4, leaving him to be raised by nannies most of his life, as his father – who was an “intelligence officer” – was never around. He started training in different forms of martial arts at the age of 5 as a way for him to make friends, as there were few children on the base. When his father was killed in a training exercise when he was 8, he was shipped off to a prestigious Military Academy to study. The instructors took note of his impressive skill, as Leon consistently remained at the top of his classes throughout his time there and by the time graduation came he had the best test scores out of anyone in his class.

Leon enlisted with the RMDF (Reserve Mars Defense Force) shortly after graduation, intending to serve and to pay his way through University. He was put on a fast track to completion and received degree’s in both his major and his minor. His reserve unit was called in to suppress an industrial wage riot when things turned ugly. Rioters stormed the barricade his unit was designated to hold and attacked; he had no choice but to defend himself. The second the first shots were fired was when the crowd exploded. With his commanding officer crushed somewhere beneath the feet of the horde, Leon ordered his unit to fall back into the factory. Through tactical genius and sheer luck, they managed to survive with minimal casualties. As they were preparing to egress from the building, a group of armed individuals confronted them and pinned them in a corridor. Leon and his men fought back and were about to push through them when a grenade landed at his feet. Not knowing how much time was left, Leon sacrificed himself to save his squad and dove on the grenade.

Several days later he awoke in a hospital bed to complete darkness. He was blind. Leon was informed that most of his body was destroyed to the point that he would live in a borderline vegetative state; missing most of both his legs, his left arm and most of his right, both his eyes, and having to be reliant on machines to do even basic functions for him. Despite his family’s history, the military was not prepared to cover the extensive cost of cybernetics as he had opened fire on a group of civilians without order. He was dishonorably discharged and given no pension. He was approached by a member of the USC several days later, promising that he could have a new life. Although he could not see the man or see the writing on the documents that he brought, he couldn’t cope with a life like this. Needless to say he agreed. For the next month he was subjected to extensive, hours long surgeries as they repaired his entire body. Even months after he had to go through intense physical therapy to adjust to his new limbs and the added military perks that came with it.

Recently, Hyperion Red Security, a subsidiary of USD and the PSC (Private Security Corporation) he works for, as well as the Emergency VIP Extraction & Protection division, abbreviated EVIPEP, have been contracted almost exclusively by USD to protect them and their accessory companies from the uprisings that are occurring on Mars.

Personality & Equipment

Leon is all business. Ever since he was a child he had acted differently. It could have been the lack of kids his age to interact with, or it could have been his military upbringing; there was little negotiation in his home. It could have also been the loss of his parents at such a young age and having to grow up incredibly young. Somewhere along the line something came loose or disappeared in his body to make him the way he is and there are plenty of options as to where that happened. Despite being borderline anti-social, he has a warm rapport with the members of his squad, treating them like the friends and family he never had. He also has a well-developed sense of gallows humor, something that both elates and terrifies his men. He is meticulous and rigid, though he is capable of adapting tactics as necessary. He prefers nothing to be out of order; his desk in his office, when he is in his office, is a testament to this. His clothing is functional and neat and his posture is near perfect.

When he is not in the field he wears a clean and pressed three-piece suit, reinforced with Kevlar. When he is on mission, he wears the Hyperion Red Combat Suit. (Pictured in 'Appearance') The suit is reinforced with advanced Kevlar plating and built onto a Nano-mesh weave which detects and staunches bleeding should it occur. The Nano-mesh is also insulated and functions like a form of modern day Gore-Tex, allowing the wearer's skin to breathe in hot climates and maintain a safe body temperature in cold climates.

His main weapon is the Panther Assault Rifle, where his sidearm is the ZX9 Security Pistol designed exclusively for HRS. Any additional equipment not vital to the operation is issued at briefing.

Panther Assault Rifle Description

Chambered in a standard assault rifle cartridge, this rifle packs just enough punch to drop a normal human target in a couple of rounds; anything enhanced is a different story. Coming off the line with a recoil absorbing butt-stock, 30+1 magazine, and ergonomic thumb grip, this is the perfect rifle for the men in EVIPEP. Leon has added a horizontal fore-grip for added comfort and stability, as well as a special rangefinder and target marker sight on his personal rifle. The target marker, once triggered, is capable of marking a target with a bright outline, and feeding the image into the retinal HUD of his team members. This image can be seen up to 200 meters away by anyone with the proper cybernetics.

ZX9 Security Pistol Description

The personal sidearm of Hyperion Red Security. This pistol is chambered in a slightly higher calibre than other law enforcement pistols and sports a high-capacity 10+1 magazine, integral laser-sight, both thumb and palm safety switches, and a non-slip grip. Leon has added a red-dot sight as well as modified the weapon to accommodate a larger cartridge, giving the gun a much higher velocity.

Cybernetics

Cybernetic Eyes

By sending a special signal from his brain and enhancing different organs in his eyes, Leon can see further than normal and in different spectrums. Such as:

o Night-Vision: By enhancing the photoreceptor cells in his eyes Leon is capable of seeing in complete darkness. It takes up to 45 minutes for the average human eye to completely adjust to darkness, whereas Leon can adapt in mere seconds. This carries the same disadvantages as wearing NVG’s however, as any unexpected bright light can blind him and overload his senses.

o Binocular Vision: Small computers were installed in his eyes, underneath the sclera, that when triggered, vastly improve Leon’s distance vision. He has much the same vision as an earthbound hawk in this sense. Although this is impressive, it can only be maintained for a short time before his vision begins to distort, suffering mild to severe ocular migraines.

o Thermal Vision: By enhancing the Cone cells in his eyes, Leon can see heat signatures at the average range a normal human can see normally. He can also detect heat signatures through thin walls and doors. He cannot discern what the person or persons is carrying, such as a weapon or what they are wearing.

Synthetic Muscle Tissue

Although he lost most of his muscle tissue in the accident, the synthetic tissue is capable of meeting most strength requirements aside from the most extreme ones. His synthetic muscles are woven around what little existing musculature he has left, allowing him to build upon the remainder. The synthetic tissue is capable of sensing muscle stimulation and exertion and reacting to it by increasing in size the way traditional muscles would. The addition of synth-tissue also regulates the amount of lactic acid that his body produces, causing his muscles to fatigue at a much slower rate. This doesn’t make him capable of lifting a car over his head, but he is capable of flipping one on its roof, or holding a standard civilian model air transport in place. Because he still has some “homegrown” musculature in his body at the roots of his synth-muscle, it is still possible for him to pull or tear a muscle if he is not careful.

New Magnesium Bone Bracing

New Magnesium is an incredibly strong metallic alloy that despite it's strength is almost nearly weightless. Much of his upper body's bone structure has been replaced by this alloy. This allows his body to receive shocks up to 10,000n and protect his internal organs from any ill effects and internal bleeding.

Artificial Adrenal Gland

Since his original adrenal gland was damaged by shrapnel, this was installed where the normal adrenal gland should be located. This implant produces epinephrine that is 50% stronger than normal, resulting in almost a “Bullet-Time” like effect. The cons of this implant almost outweigh the pros, as the user will most often suffer from tunnel vision, headache, anxiety, and long term hypertension (High Blood Pressure), and in rare cases may result in cerebral hemorrhaging.

Prosthetic Arms & Legs

His arms & legs are made up of much the same as the rest of his body is: New Magnesium & Synth-Muscle. They may be fake but they mimic the real thing as close as possible and there is no lack of normal sensation; if a pin pricks the skin, it's felt by the nerves and exhibits the common body response.

Pain Actuator

Installed in the brain, this microscopic computer regulates the amount of pain that is felt by the user. Through signals sent by the brain the user can lesser any pain received or eliminate the body's reaction to it all together. This is a highly addictive implant and is illegal in all combat sports and any sport involving heavy contact. Overuse of this implant can cause any number of health problems.

Even on mars some things never change. He was a mechanic, like his father before him. They lived in a bad part of town in the industrial zone making rent by fixing whatever came through their doors, some legal, some less than legal, but never anything outright illegal. So it was that when they completely refused to chop-shop a stolen police cruiser, they made an example by chopping off the boy's body one section at a time until the job was done. It only took the master mechanic 90 minutes to strip the car himself and his son only lost an arm when the police arrived.

The insurance only covered the most basic of bionics, a frame to keep his organs inside him and a 3 servo hook hand. They could do better, and they did. THe next time the gangs came to the mechanic for another chop job, they got a hell of a surprise when they saw what the mechanics made for mikey.

The car they brought in for chopping was turned into the police, with all six members crammed in the trunk. While a bit vigilante, it did get the attention of a special group who could use such a skilled mechanic on their team.

Bio: Tough lands breed tough people. And that is exactly what Henry was, tough. He had to be, growing up the youngest of five, living in a shitty neighbourhood with shitty people, if you weren't tough and didn't learn quick, best case scenario you'd wind up dead. Henry was lucky, he was born a survivor. He fought for everything he had growing up, his clothes, his food. His pride. He did a lot of bad shit to people, but he didn't care. He wasn't going to die in a gutter.

When he was 16, he joined a gang. Spirit Wolves. When he joined they had little territory, training, co-operation, people and funds. Henry changed that. He made the gang into what it became, a full blown crime syndicate. He spread rumours about himself to scare people and build a rep. People thought that he was a wild beast, unleashed only when shit got intense. The runours became so wild that people would pay the gang just for keeping Henry on a leash.

Some people did toss away the rumours every now and then, and challenged the gang. Those people disappeared, never to be seen again. Henry eventually left the gang at age 24 when an ex military soldier offered him a job at his security company. Henry accepted and never looked back on it. He worked some easy jobs for the company, guard stores, people and the like. But he loved the tough jobs, companies hiring him to kill another companys hired goons. Escorting caravans through dangerous turf. Hunting mutants and the like. So long as the job paid well, he'd do it.
