Alright, I feel like we should agree on how to start this thing, out of the scenarios that I listed, and what ideas you may have as to how to do that. What do you think?

-Plane crashes/gets shot down on the way back to the US
-Convoy gets ambushed
-FOB gets attacked
-Mission goes wrong

i feel like going with this order

-Convoy gets ambushed
-Plane crashes/gets shot down

-Mission doesn't exist anymore, need to go to homeland or embassy

The way I had it pictured in my mind is that our convoy was sent to rescue the vice prez (if he's not American, this can be changed!) on his tour to Abu Dhabi when jihad terrorists ambush the airport shortly upon his arrival. The complex of the airport is a gigantic mess and seems like a maze to get out of. It's just our characters, another soldier, and the vice prez and since the third soldier has a working radio, he is told that there is a helicopter some blocks down to get the prez to but that doesn't go well. In the process, prez does get sniped. Third soldier dies. Now, it's a game of no one left alive. Our characters sort of go Jason Bourne so they won't get caught but as per usual, hell ensues and time is of the essence.

I had meant that to be a list of how our characters originally found themselves in the "shit's fucked, we gotta leave" situation, but I like where you took that. I don't think it makes much sense for the plot to involve a vice president, though. I would think they'd send, like, special forces into that sort of thing, not just a bunch of grunts who happen to be in the area. And besides that, Abu Dhabi is a pretty developed city. Even if the airport were completely taken over, it wouldn't be too far to Dubai, which has an airport of it's own. You wouldn't really have to go far to be back in a non-hostile environment.

Unless, of course, the government of the UAE were behind all of it. *gasps*

Ohhh, for someone reason I thought they were like special forces! Don't ask me why. This is actually my first military roleplay so I'm a bit blank which is why I thought of the vice president idea, ehe.

I'm trying to think of why a group would ambush grunts and I'm stuck... if I could, my imagination mouse would be running on the wheel right now. :B

Oh, and thank you! I loved that book (Western Front) when I read it for vacation. :) The movie was nice too.

It's no problem. It doesn't really have to be anything specific, I don't think. Imagine a bunch of pickup trucks with recoilless rifles and heavy machine guns, and bad guys with RPGs and AKs, just seeing a group of 3 or 4 humvees rolling across the desert, or a small outpost, or a flight of helicopters, and deciding to make an aggressive push to take them out. And then our characters pop out and are like "Welp, we're boned. Time to leave."

Sorry if that sounds a bit dark. I do like your idea as well, but I'm trying to think of how to work something like that out.

How do you feel your character's fellow partner being tied to the enemy? I think that would add more dramatic effect especially since they're getting cornered. She would have a change of heart, of course. I just want to see them in a fight together too.

Oh, sure, that could be interesting, though it would only make sense if neither she nor anyone else knew, because I don't think she'd ever be allowed in the military if they knew.

It is a bit cliche, lol. I think daughter of a member, or a low-ranking terrorist member would work, but not a high-ranking one.

Hey, sorry I didn't mention it before, but I'm going to be pretty busy today. I should be able to get some stuff done in a couple of hours, and then I'll be on at about 10 or 11 Central.

Alright, I'm back. The only thing I can think of is that I'm pretty sure the military wouldn't allow you to use a tomahawk. A combat knife would be fine. I like the idea of your character being better in melee combat than ranged weaponry, but unless you just sort of found it, you wouldn't have a tomahawk on you.

Other than that, I don't see any problems.
