Name: Declan “Deck” Alliser III
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Appearance: Declan’s lanky, to say the least. He’s 5’ 11” and 145 lbs. His skin is quite pale, giving him an almost sickly look. He has messy, medium length, brown hair and pale green eyes. He tends to most often wear high-end mechanic’s leathers and goggles.
Personality: Declan is, above all, inquisitive. He has a deep desire to know everything about anything. He asks questions. If he doesn’t get an answer, he finds one. Many things have been said about Declan, but “lazy” isn’t one of them. Spending a lot of his time alone has given him the social skills of, well, one who has spent a lot of time alone. He becomes easily distracted while talking, stopping mid-sentence to entertain a new thought or idea. Declan, despite not being very funny himself, has a good sense of humor and doesn’t take very much very seriously.
Bio: Declan was not the child anyone expected him to be. He bore little to no resemblance to the king and queen (Though, he did bare a striking resemblance to the captain of the Queen’s guard. A few days after this coincidence was discovered, the guard went missing.) and inherited none of their domineering personality. Growing up, Declan cared little for the court or the training grounds. Instead, he spent his life wrapped up in books and steam machinery. He was left to his own devices by the rest of his family. The King couldn’t stand him, the Queen was ashamed of him, and his siblings barely noticed him.
This suited “Deck”, as the servants took to calling him, just fine. With only a library and a workshop for company, he threw himself into everything he did. He wanted to learn how to make steam weapons, and he did, designing a clockwork pistol capable of firing four rounds in rapid succession before requiring reloading. He wanted to learn how to cook, so he did, becoming almost on par to the castle’s chefs. When his father began his, questionable, practices, Deck didn’t say anything. Whatever he may have felt, he was terrified of his father. When the riots began, the servants slipped him out of the castle. Hidden in the back of a loyalist’s trade cart, he watched the castle burn. The cart was attacked by looters, who let him go, not knowing who he was.
Skills:
- Cooking: Declan learned from the best in the city.
- Machinery: Deck is almost supernaturally good with machines. If something is broken, chances are, he can fix it.
- Marksmanship: the only sort of combat knowledge Declan has comes from teaching himself how to shoot a firearm. He wouldn’t win any competitions, mind you, but he can still hit what he needs to.
Anything else?: Declan has a crippling fear of bees and wasps, to which he is allergic.
