That being said, I think you're good :) Argus seems like an interesting character, so he's accepted!

Now for your post: Are you implying that the Pinkterton Agency knows something about Dr. Atkins's research and his death after one day? How much do they know? And what's your plan for getting Argus into contact with the other characters? But other than that I can't say I see anything wrong with your post other what I already asked about.

@ON Apologies, it's been a while since I've done any forum RP-ing so my etiquette is a bit rusty. I'm glad everything is to your liking though :)

I'm going with the angle that the Bureau of Investigations (the precursor to the FBI) had been keeping tabs on Dr. Atkins and the strange rise in psychiatric committals in Arkham for a while. They believe that he may have been working on either an ancient weapon or some sort of lost technology and that his death was not a suicide but rather an assassination by foreign agents. Beyond that (or whether or not these assumptions are correct) the BoI doesn't know a great deal about the particulars of Atkins' work.

As far as connecting with other characters, Argus is going to set down in a local hotel, make contact with Barry Lexington for questioning and then go from there.

Then that brings me to another question; How wouldthey know about this so-called "ancient weapon"? Do they think it's real and worth investigating (clearly yes since they sent Argus out there, but still)?
Well then stick around and feel the waters when it seems appropriate for you to post then, all of us lets a certain "sequence" go before they post, so as to make the story flow fluently.

I'll be working on a post right now as we speak, it'll be good to get back in the saddle :D

In all seriousness though, while they wouldn't know the exact details of his research there would be some indication of what he was after. Library books borrowed, people spoken to, articles published, etc. All these vague and seemingly unrelated things painted a picture that indicated (at least to the BoI) that Atkins was onto something important.

Argus isn't a government agent per se, but he's been contracted by them - that way if the leads are a total bust or things turn ugly, the BoI can just blame Argus and carry on like nothing ever happened.

I'm not necessarily trying to say this IS what is true, but what they THINK is true. The reality could be completely different, and Argus is in for a fun time trying to find out ;)

EDIT: I'll probably post in the IC thread again either when it's both a logical and convenient time to meet Barry, or a second filler post to set the scene beforehand.

...hello I am back from job-related distractions. Will try to post before I work tonight. Everything went well, and, so far, I'm largely editing school papers for people. Considering I used to do that for free, this is an upgrade.

Hey guys, really tryin to get my post up today. Also wanted to let everyone know Im really thinking about writing August out of the story at this point as I just don't seem to have enough time to post regularly (As im sure you've all noticed.) I really don't want to drop out but thought I'd let you all know I am seriously considering it.

@T RisketI wish I could say "No, you're not allowed to leave", but I know that's not how this works. Got to be honest though, it'd be a real shame if you were to leave, and I would miss you as the others probably would too. And really, if I may be selfish, I don't feel as if I'm posting that regurarly either in the IC compared to everyone; I feel as if this is supposed to be a somewhat slow-paced game, not having 20 posts a day. But that might just be me being desperatly trying to keep you from leaving.

If you do decide to write August out, would it be possible for me to take control of him and keep him as a NPC of sorts? At least until his part in the story was done?
