The mushroom kingdom lies in a rather curious place, dont'cha know! Between worlds, at the epicenter of the multiverse! Of course you don't care about that, though. Feh, why would yeh! You lot are way too preoccupied with Bowser and his shenanigans to notice anything else going on in this dang kingdom. I'll have you know though, that beyond the fabric of our reality, there are a plethora of threats that make his highness look like a frightened little turtle, Ahahaha!

I've been toying with the idea of starting an RP that takes place in the Mario universe. I've yet to formulate a plot, but the basic idea would most certainly take place in the mushroom kingdom, span across 8 chapters, involve some multiverse shenanigans, and feature many characters that fans of the Mario games know and love. You as a player, will be playing a native of the mushroom kingdom. This limits you to choose from any race within the kingdom (Except humans, as they will be exclusive to Mario, Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, Peach and Daisy) but customization is still rather generous.

Before I put anything into writing or continue to expand on this idea though, I'd like to see if anyone is interested in this at all. Please post your interest/tentative interest/ideas/anything you want below!

@Holy Soldier I'm still on the fence about who'll be allowed to play whom. Major characters like Mario and Luigi might be up for grabs, but we certainly don't want somebody jumping around as Mario and actually speaking words!

I mean, Mario could potentially talk, but in my head that's just messed up man!

How does it sound messed up? I've done Mario Kingdom RPs (one I actually solo) and I give him a New York accent. His phrases, "Mama mia" I use them like anyone would say "Holy shit" or "Oh shit." I make him straight-up real. He curses and he fights all the zombie koopas in the sewer pipes because the pipes are the main transportation systems in the Mushroom Kingdom. Being a plumber is actually an admirable job and think about all the house-calls if ya know what I mean.

@Holy Soldier I could certainly see the potential, if done right. I'm just really old fashioned when it comes to Fandom-Role plays. Guess it's just stuck in my head that Mario's never been one to talk out loud.

At any rate, details like character control would be hashed out later on, but I'm definitely not against giving out primary characters from the source content.

Mario can Talk, Luigi's mansion made sure of that. And I think one of the Mario RPGs had him talk as well. I know that no one was surprised when Shadow Mario (looking exactly like Mario) Talked in Paper Mario, indicating that he could.

Also, interested in playing a spell casting Koopa I think, for the good guys of course.

Hm... sure, I'll join. I've been in a couple other Mario-based RPs, but they didn't last long, and weren't made by someone who knew what they were doing. I hope I can't say the same for this one.

@Lugia Hopefully I keep the theoretical group interested. Assuming I do work on an OOC, I'd encourage people to actually give feedback/contribute to the plot significantly if they'd like.

Well, you could do something with that whole multiverse thing... maybe Bowser's using that, somehow? Better yet, maybe there's a different villain using that, and Bowser's just a red herring.
