Within the city of Cevera known as the city of dreams many strange things occur and in a world filled with fables and legends it makes this city all the more fascinating. Hidden in confines of this wonderful town many secrets move between the people and within the dark shadows of the populace, and though plenty of good resides in Cevera there is plenty of ill within its creases as well. Misfortune, despair, malice all manners of evil that destroy those who seek only to live normal simple lives. These occurrences leave a deep imprint on society, creating mysteries that linger in the city even today, but to those who don't want to turn a blind eye to the shadows that loom over the city, those that seek to find the light within the darkness that lingers in the hearts others, to those who want truth instead of fabricated lies through the mouth of those who seek only the torment of others, lost in their own ways. If this desire is in your heart then seek out the Red Eye for it always watches for those that would still hope from the residents of Cevera.

Yasa looked at a poster in his hand his eyes narrowing slightly, a long sigh escaped from him before he dropped it on his mahogany desk. He wrote that pull and even he had to admit it was awful there was even a typo with steal. He didn't even want to think about the horrid responses it got online, people on the internet could be heartless. Leaning back in his chair he rested his shoes on the desk and folded his hands on his lap. The Red Eye Detective Agency, a decrepit building hidden between the alleway of two forgotten stores, the place was hard enough to find that it was almost impossible to locate without knowing just the right person, Yasa figured that was probably a cause for his lack of customers the last few months.

The room itself wasn't exactly inviting for those that did enter, dust was everywhere from the small table in the back to the medium sized desk in the front, the two couches in the center of the room had lost their vibrant colors and was now a dull indistinguishable shade, he called it khaki pink. The wilted flowers on the small table between them didn't help matters but he disliked getting up to the water them. His gaze moved to the two doors adjacent to each other on the walls, the right one his room, the other the bathroom which was dirty enough that he went next door when he had to go, he was pretty sure he heard noises in there at night and in a world where monsters exists he wasn't risking opening that door. The fluorescent lighting never worked so the only light in the room was a single lamp on his document littered desk and the open blinds...which couldn't open fully. Thanks to that the room always seemed dim even when it was bright out, his face always in shadow when he sat like this. He wanted coffee but it was on the far table, which had a broken leg, and he wasn't getting up for it.

"...really hope this assistant thing works out. I put in that advertisement free room and board...granted it's the couch but still. I'll have to explain the whole no client thing eventually, but at the very least I won't have to get my own coffee for the next few days."

The sound of clicking filled the hallway as the woman's heels met the hard wood floor. She was dressed to kill, wearing a black pencil skirt that hugged every curve, a white flowing button up shirt - the top two buttons undone, purposefully - and a small silver clutch clasped between her hands. Her perfectly manicured fingers drummed quietly on the clasp as she strolled down the hallway. Her long hair was tucked across her left shoulder, a few loose strands framed her face. She was quite beautiful to say the least. The young woman stopped before the door that would let to what she hoped the office of the man she was looking for. She had walked into the building but nobody had answered when she called out so she had decided to venture further into the building.

The young woman, Helexa, moved her hand to knock on the door but stopped herself. With gentle hands she opened her clutch and pulled out a pair of glasses. She slid them up on to her delicate face, making sure they were settled completely to cover her eyes. Helexa was a Cambion, and in Lament's terms that meant she was half-human and half-succubus. Because of her heritage, her eyes could charm someone if she wasn't careful. And believe you me, charming a human accidentally can sometimes cause an imprint and those were the hardest things to break. Once she was satisfied with her glasses, she rapt gently on the door.

Even though she didn't need it, Helexa was here to apply for the job. Truth be told, she was quite wealthy, but there was something about the add that caught her attention. About 40 years ago she had been a private investigator, so she had experience with this line of work. However, she was just applying for the secretary position. It was really just to have something take up her time and to keep her occupied. Also, she liked this line of work and wouldn't mind if her possible new employer would allow her to assist him. As impatient as she ever was, she turned the door knob and slowly pushed the door open. "Hullo?" She called, poking her head into the room. It was obvious that she had a faint accent but it seemed to be masked by years of training.

Yasa shut his eyes and started to drift off, he doubted anyone was going to stop by today if they hadn't already, it took a few days for things like this to circulate after all. Just as he was slipping off he heard a knock at the door, he opened his eyes and blinked a few times staring at his door for a moment. His eyebrows drew down as he took a moment to register if someone had seriously knocked on his door, when he noticed the knob turn his brows arched and he couldn't deny his surprise that someone had responded so quickly, perhaps his advertisement wasn't as bad as he thought. Clearing his throat he started to speak when he picked up their voice first, it sounded like a woman.

"Yeah come on in," Yasa said.
Yasa didn't really have an authoritative voice as he normally sounded like someone who just woke up from a long nap, low and listless with his expression making it hard to tell if it was his natural voice or if he really did just wake up. Half closed eyelids and lips in a constant thin line, the bags under his eyes today probably wouldn't help the realistic illusion. He watched the door for the woman to enter and his eyebrows arched when she actually walked in, she was far better dressed for this job than he was. Dressed in a pair of black slacks accompanied with dirty read sneakers she seemed the proper example of what should be waiting behind the desk. His wrinkled button up covered with a brown long sleeve shirt which was also wrinkled didn't help. He ruffled his bedhead before peering at the woman behind his glasses, he tilted his head slightly to create a glare on the lens to hide his eyes, he had practiced this and it was one of his few shames but he liked dramatic effect.

"Welcome to the Red Eye Detective Agency," Yasa said keeping his torso in the darkness of the room. "If you're here...then either you believe in finding the truth...or you're not that sharp."
Yasa pushed his glasses onto his face with one finger causing the glare to shift slightly to his right lens, again practiced with shame, before a small sigh escaped from him and he leaned forward revealing his upper body, disorganized and all before continuing.
"I don't believe you're the latter though so let's talk about the kind of person you are. Tell me about yourself and your previous job experiences, your expected pay, willingness to go into danger and all that. This isn't a hard job to go get but legal requirements and stuff require me to ask that."
He messed with a few documents on his desk organizing them into one stack before setting them down. Honestly her only other job could have been putting stamps on envelops and that'd be good enough, but she was pretty well dressed and there was a certain air about her...an almost familiar one at that so he doubted it'd be something simple like that.

Helexa entered into the room, stopping just beyond the thresh hold to take the room in. She peered over the tops of her glasses and surveyed what she would be working with. When she had given the room a good once over, she pushed her glasses back up over her eyes and focused on the man sitting behind the desk. A small smile played across her red painted lips as she watched him. His current mannerisms reminded her of one of those old detective movies that were in black and white. She walked over towards the desk where he sat, her heels clicking once again. She loved the sound her heels made, it was always so refreshing to her.

"Hi, I came to apply for the secretary's position." She stated matter of factly as she produced his add and a resume. When one was to go over the resume they would see quite the impressive work history and what her experience was with this field. Placing the resume on the desk before him, she smiled gently at the man. When she pulled back her hand, she looked down at the desk and slowly dragged two fingers across the wood. Holding up the fingers to inspect them, she noticed a good layer of dust coated them. Humming gently, she rubbed her fingers and thumb together, dispelling the dirt from her finger tips. Very daintily she sat within one of the chairs before Yasa's desk. She was perched on the edge of the chair, her posture perfect, and her ankles crossed. Helexa was the very picture of a sophisticated woman.

"My name is Helexa. I am half human half succubus, I hope that doesn't matter, and I have quite the work experience with this line of work. I was a private investigator about 40 years or so, if I recall correctly. The nitty gritty details are in the resume there. Danger is not something that bothers me, any. When it comes to pay, minimum wage is fine. Not to be frank, but darling, it doesn't look like you could afford much more. I'm only wanting the job to keep myself busy. However, I can tell you that I will be quite the addition to your Agency." The Cambion explained with a small smile.

"Also, I do so enjoy your charming detective get up here. It's very chic." She said, winking at the man as she drummed her finger again on her clutch.

Yasa watched the woman in silence after speaking his peace giving a small nod to her to show he was still paying attention, the room hadn't scared her off so that was a bonus and she got right to the point which he liked. He pulled the resume toward him and eyed it carefully, though he pulled his glasses down at one point seeing her work history which she repeated herself confirming that it was quite real. He almost wanted to question what she was doing in his office when she answered the question herself. Leaning back in his chair he continued to eye her credentials only looking over when she spoke.

"Well this is an equal employment office, we live in a world with legends and fantasy, it's actually far more rare for a normal human to enter my door," Yasa said. "Also you had me at minimum wage."
He pushed his glasses back onto his nose at this and calmly set the resume down, she was a perfect candidate and that's what actually bothered him, the first person that walks through the door is just the person he needs. If this was his good fortune then he worried about the backlash later, still that was a thought for later for the time being he needed to provide an answer to her, though the moment he read over the resume he had his answer.

“Well you’re hired,” Yasa said. “I’m your boss now so don’t go getting yourself killed, that’s a bunch of paperwork I don’t want to do. Name’s Yasa it’s good to have you here.”
Standing up he walked around to her and taking her hand gave a small shake, he wasn’t sure how to feel about her boredom reason but if she was willing to take that kind of pay he didn’t really care.
“May as well get started on dusting the place, much as I like this detective style office it’s incredibly dusty.”

He pulled his hand away only to turn seeing someone standing at the door, they politely knocked on it before walking inside, it was a middle aged human woman, dressed in a plain brown dress and a white blouse, she stared at the two before giving a small bow to the two.
“Is this the Red Eye Detective Agency…I need help.”
Yasa stared at the woman eyes wide body frozen, it took a moment to register that this was a customer and he removed his glasses, cleaned them and placed them back on his face just to reaffirm that she was real.
“Uh yeah…co-come in. Helexa prepare some coffee and ask her what she needs may as well see how you handle customers. Oh what is your name Miss…”
“Morrison.”
“Miss Morrison please have a seat on the couch my assistant will interview you.”

Helexa smiled to Yasa as she stood up. Turning her attention to the distressed woman in the door way, she motioned for her to come further in to the agency. "Welcome, Miss Morrison. Tell me, how do you like your coffee?" She said with a small smile as she fluffed a pillow in one of the seats for the woman to sit at. Once Miss Morrison was comfortable, Helexa began to make the coffee. While it was brewing, the Cambion took the seat across from the woman and produced a pen and paper tablet to write on.

"Tell me, Miss Morrison. What brings you in today?" She asked. As the woman began to go in to detail of what she was needing Helexa wrote key points, keeping tabs on what was needing to be done. Once the coffee had finished brewing, Helexa sat her equipment to the side and stood up. Pouring two cups, she made the woman's cup as requested and delivered it into the hands of the upset woman. With a reassuring pat on the knee, she moved over to Yasa's desk and placed a cup on the table. "You didn't tell me how you like your coffee." Was all she said as she placed the black coffee on the table. "If you want creamer and sugar, just say."

Turning back to the woman, she took her previous spot and allowed the woman to finish her story. Once they were complete, Helexa stood up and smiled to the distraught woman. "Thank you, Miss Morrison. Mr. Yasa will review your case and will contact you shortly. Go home and relax, you're in good hands." She said and took the woman's hands in her owns, patting her hands comfortingly. The woman's face slowly relaxed as she nodded her head, a dazed look in her hands. Helexa smiled and lead her to the door, holding it open for her and bidding her a good day. Once the woman left the room, the Cambion closed the door, and walked over to gather her paper.

Walking over to Yasa's desk, she slid him the information, dusted a part of his desk off, and slid up on to it to peer at what she had written with him. "You didn't say if you wanted her to say. It looks good though when you wait a little bit of time before you accept it. Makes them think that you've got a lot of cases." She said and smiled to the man. "Oh, and I may have charmed the woman a bit. Sorry."

Yasa sat at his desk arms crossed and eyes shut, he wasn't sure how to feel about this right now. This was a real customer one that legitimately needed their help, he reached up and ruffled his head wondering how this was a possibility. On top of all that she was a human one of the rarest breeds around here, he raised his gaze and looked at Helexa. Was this woman some kind of lucky charm? He wasn't sure and after giving a nod after taking his coffee he lowered his gaze back to his desk. For the time being he wasn't going to bother with such thoughts, he shut his eyes and listened to Miss Morrison from a distance.

He took a drink from his coffee and his eye twitched slightly, he should have asked for sugar but he was committed now he'd have to finish it. Though hearing what Miss Morrison's case actually was caused him to inwardly sigh before his eyes moved to her figure, he eyed her for a moment scanning her form from a distance while Helexa was talking to her. She seemed like a simple woman, his eyes moved to her hands for a moment, not married which made the case a little more ironic than he liked. She seemed pretty distraught but the purse she carried wasn't a knock off so it seemed she could use her money more towards accesories than her clothing, her earrings included.

"Thanks Helexa," Yasa said taking the information. "I can tell you've done this before."
At the mention of staying he waved his hand before blowing on the desk causing a small cloud of dust to lift into the air, a small sigh escaped from him as he looked back at the information.
"I wouldn't want someone to stay here longer than they had to in these conditions," Yasa said. "Also Helexa I appreciate your input but I'd like your expertise in the field not how long to make customers wait. Here at Red Eye we respond ASAP, I hate making people wait like that, I wouldn't want my case being handle like that."
Resting his cheek on his fist he read the paper, it wasn't anything fancy, just a missing cat case that got lost in another dimension in her house, a common occurrence nowadays.
"Hm...affording a whole other dimension cost serious money," Yasa said. "Questions for later, anyway Helexa try not to charm too often, I'll explain on the way...I don't have a car so I hope you like walking."
Reaching into his pocket Yasa stood up and dialed the number on his phone, putting it to his ear.
"Yeah it's Yasa we'll take your case. Yep Red Eye accepts any case...long as it's legal. All right we'll be there soon."
Yasa hung up the phone and stretched a bit before quickly finishing his coffee, however he set the cup down and waved his mouth off as steam came out of it.
"Agh hot! Phu fuk's safe."
Yasa sighed and headed towards the door.
"Co' on Helxa, za caffes's awits."

Helexa had learned a lot from the woman by simply watching her. She learned a lot more when she touched her hand. It was an intake of energy sometimes when she made physical contact with humans. Unfortunately, it was not something she could control. Helexa was half human and the mix of her demon blood and human blood left her powers a little screwy. Sometimes she accidentally charmed people, sometimes she didn't. There was something about the mixture of her blood that just caused her charm to go on the fritz at times.

"Well, no promises. Cambions can't completely control their charm, unfortunately." She said with a smile and small shrug. She slid off of the desk and dusted her bottom, righted her shirt, and grabbed her clutch. "As for your office, I'll clean it up once we finish the case. When's the last time you dusted this place?" She asked as she placed her hands on her hips, surveying the room again.

Her work was definitely going to be cut out for her, that was for sure. She didn't seem phased by him scolding her about the time they accepted the case. His monkey, his circus, was her thought about him replying immediately. She always thought quick to accept the case seemed a little desperate. Maybe it was a woman thing and seeming desperate. "Oh, I don't mind walking. Although, I do have a car if you would prefer we take that?" She asked, pulling her keys to her BMW out of her purse, jingling them slightly for emphasis. Again, old money, so she could flash it if she wanted to. Although, she really didn't consider her BMW all that flashy. Now her house, that was pretty flashy.

When he burnt his tongue, she rushed to the sugar and plucked out a single sugar cube. "Here, put that on your tongue. It'll at least help a little bit." She said as she held out the cube, chuckling as he fanned his tongue.

Strolling down the hall with him, she nodded to her black BMW that sat on the curb before the Red Eye Agency. "Walk or drive? I'll even let you drive so long as you promise not to wreck it." She said and chuckled as she held up her keys. The car sitting out front was a BMW E89 Z4. She smiled proudly at the little black roadster. "You know, this is the first BMW ever to be completely designed by only women. Made by women for women." She chuckled as she looked to Yasa, waiting for him to decide what he wanted to do.

"Hmmm S' ben a phew ears ince a eaned it," Yasa said in response to her question.
Yasa walked down the hall moving the sugar cube in his mouth a hand on his chin, he was sure her power wouldn't cause any real problems in small bursts but the potential for it worried him slightly. A small sighed escaped from him since he wasn't going to find anyone else willing to work for minimum wage in that place with such a good record. He'd deal with whatever came when they'd have to cross that road, for now he just wanted to get this cat as fast possible so he could return home. His gaze moved over to Helexa as they made it outside and to her car, staring at it he blinked a few times before reaching over and gently taking her keys.
"She's outside town so I'll take you up on that," Yasa said. "...is this car sexist? Never mind let's just go."

When they pulled up to the gate of the house Yasa shut the thankfully still intact car off and stepped out. His gaze raised to the actual building and his eye twitched slightly as he tossed Helexa her keys. The building was a large victorian style manor, accompanied with multiple spires, and stretching out about 65 yards Yasa had to turn his head to look at it. A large fountain sat in the center surrounded by vegetation and flowers, he could see a single man attending to the flowers.
"...yeah that makes sense," he said walking towards the large building.
The man who was an older gentleman dressed in a stereotypical butler's outfit with a white shirt, cufflinks, the whole ensemble.
"You must be the people Madam are expecting. Right this way."
Yasa looked over at Helexa before following the man with a small sigh.
"...First rich person we encounter and it's a cat we're going after."

Walking inside the house Yasa looked around before crossing his arms, he expected a fanciful house full of trinkets, paintings, expensive vase's a long red carpet leading to the main room, and priceless artifacts that cost more than the actual mansion. The worst part he was correct, it was like walking into the governor's mansion if he took it from another richer governor. A sweet scent also permeated the air causing Yasa to look around for a moment at the furniture and it's polished shine.
"Is that Dragon Essence?"
"Yes sir, we've used it to keep the house clean for many years."
"I agree it does leave that good polish, and the scent is wonderful. Do you drink any?"
"It's not good to drink sir."
"Oh...I knew that. Just...making a joke."
Yasa followed the man to a large white room with a single door behind the Madam and a large painting on the far wall.
"Thank you for coming Detective, m-miss Helexa" Madam said stuttering slightly. "Welcome to the Leriso mansion, thank you for showing them in Lawrence."
"It was my pleasure madam would you like your sweet tea now," Lawrence said.
"No that's quite alright Lawrence regular tea will suffice, anyway Detective I appreciate your help. My kitten Mr. Caturs is my world."
Yasa closed his eyes and removing his glasses squeezed the bridge of his nose.
"Caturs...right and the other dimension in that door right," Yasa said pointing at the door.
Madam Leriso nodded before Yasa pointed at the painting, which was of a tall older man dressed in a finely tailored black suit, his slicked back hair had bits of grey around the edges.
"Who is that?"
"My older brother Wilhelm, he's normally the one I ask but he's away on business."
"What about the butler."
"I have a phobia of alternate dimensions sir, though I have served the Leriso family since their youth I have yet to conquer this phobia...please forgive my ineptitude."
"Uh...no worries man...well we may as well get started, are you ready Helexa. You've gone through one of these doors right, they normally lead to a staircase that leads to all kinds of other doors."
