@XandryaFor the most part it's animation style and a bunch of tropes revolving around it. Also the whole marketing style and the linkage between literature and animation, since most anime are tied to a manga/light novel series, so there's that whole economic perspective of prioritizing profit. Then again lots of superhero cartoons have marvel/DC origins. I think there are those of who watch anime once in a blue moon, and then other who live and breathe the stuff >.>

I've only seen Inuyasha when a friend introduced me to the series, and I enjoyed it for the 60 or 70 episodes that I saw. I guess that's like one of the main ones that gets tossed around.

Hmmm, it is understandable that people dont watch most anime since they are so bad. But yea, most mainstream once are good. Perhaps I could advise you an anime that you might like. I have been trained in this for many years since I also go through all the bad ones >.>
