Doiri is a beautiful terran planet which has been civilised for thousands of years. The year is now 2011AU and things are changing.
This is a nation RP which is set in modern times on the large planet of Doiri. It once started out as a group of small nomadic clans, scattered across the world. As time went on, these clans grew bigger and bigger and fought for dominance. It took nearly 720 years but the Nova clan united the entire known planet (Which was mainly the continent Ostburn) To celebrate this, The years were counted again, starting on 1st January 0 After Unification. As time went, the unified Nova empire grew from strength to strength. They started to develop better technology, pushing further and discovering more of the world. They discovered other smaller clans and took them over too. This carried on all the way until the 1700's where things took a turn.
People had become fed up of being ruled by a emperor and they began to rise up against their imperial overlords. Bit by bit, the empire lost ground, until it had been pushed out of most continents, and from that chaos, new countries arouse. The Empire, scared of losing everything changed, and formed the Novan Commonwealth, the first democratic nation in the world. No longer ruled by the king but by a prime minster who was elected. Further down the line they created the parliament. But it was not enough. One by one, the people of Ostburn began to rise up to demand independence. In order to avoid a nasty war on its home shore, The new commonwealth gave away the rights or ruler ship to these new countries on the condition that they agreed to have the king or queen as their head of state, and signed the commonwealth agreement.
This stemmed the bloodshed, and Nova still had a huge empire at its disposal thanks to the commonwealth agreements. However, as time went on into the late 1800's, it became apparent that many new nations no longer wanted to be part of the commonwealth, and either militarily or diplomatically left the commonwealth. And by the mid 1900's the Novan Commonwealth was but a shadow of its former glory. It still had plenty going for it though. It was the biggest country on the planet, in terms of landmass at least. It was technologically advanced, leading most of the technological revolutions of the time. And while that light was going out, the Novans were determined to hold onto it.
Entering the 2000's it seemed like the face of the world had changed. Many new nations had arisen and these newer nations were full of vigour and energy. Now it is 2011, the world is ready and things are about to start changing. This is where you guide those nations. Peacefully, Evilly or domineering.

But that way i can use it as balance, and to drive story. 3) Nukes are allowed, but not everything you have will use them. They are not to be used as toys either and that each one will take significant economic power to contain. 4)Posts will take place as weekly posts. So each post represents the week in your nation. Government Status: Absolute Monarchy. In what may ultimately be considered a bastardized form of the Novan Commonwealth's government, there exists a parliament with a single chamber which functions much more like a modern royal court - with the nationalistic Grand Duke acting as both the speaker for the chamber and the final decision on any and all matters. As of current, the major issue the country is facing is that of seceding from the Novan Commonwealth. Representatives are elected and ministers are selected from said representatives by the nobility. The nobility reserve the right to remove any number of representatives from office at any time. Approximately 82% of the nations citizens take one side or another in the debate, either in support of seceding in favor of recreating the former Empire which many citizens are so proud of, or in support of remaining by the Novan Commonwealth to stand by their proud roots. Econonic Status: The country runs a government-regulated market with an array of legislation in place regarding which, such as anti-discrimination laws, labor laws, and taxation. The official currency is the Adanirian Dollar (AND) and generally fluctuates between 0.76 and 0.89 Yarn. The economy is solid but not thriving, with gradual improvement coming from government reforms and efforts to try and improve the economy. The current nominal GDP per capita sits at approximately 42,000 AAD, or 31,000 Yarn. Social Status: In the country, it's a hard and fast rule that power is held by the wealthy and influential. The ruling and upper classes of the nation are in the majority of cases afforded a great deal of luxury, even if it comes from their own back pocket - which is rarely short of money. The middle and working classes live in conditions sufficient but defiantly lacking in a number of regards. Even with the zero-tolerance approach taken by law enforcement, crime is fairly common to compensate and sits somewhere in the gray between a means to an end and a means to gain in the eyes of the average middle-to-working class citizen. Social services are developing using a model inspired by that of the Novan Commonwealth's social services, albiet with improvements as suggested by critics and politicians. Education is passable by the modern standard, but nothing more. Having a higher education is mostly limited to the upper classes due to the cost and family influence required.
Military Status: The Adanirian Military, known as the Royal Adanirian Armed Forces, is coming to the cusp of a campaign to increase both in size and standard, running mostly parallel to efforts to boost the nations economy so that it may support such a force. The military is internationally significant and recent focused expansion to the military may be of concern to the international community. Recruitment is by means of selective service. Active service members work full time as soldiers and are paid as such and reservists are required to train once a month plus exercises, and both are paid for their time. The military, for a hardy lower-class citizen, is an effective means to gain entry into the upper-classes, as military service both comes with an array of benefits and with cultural value. The military sits somewhere between adequetly and well supplied and technological advancement generally sits around the modern standard. A number of designs are purchased from other nations for local production and generally with modifications, if not bought outright as complete units. The exception to this is with most Naval Technology, in which Adanir is a world leader. The pride and joy of the Adanirian Military is its navy, which has been its focus for much of its lifetime. In most aspects, the Adanirian Navy and its ships are relatively superior to a number of international counterparts. Adanir is known to sell schematics and provide resources to close allies and when directed by the Queen, other members of the Commonwealth, but are mostly reluctant to share. Military Structure: Under the ultimate command of the Grand Marshall as the Head of the Armed Forces, there is the Royal Adanirian Navy, Royal Adanirian Army, and Royal Adanirian Air Force in order of seniority, under the command of Admiral Nicușor Funar, General Toma Vasile, and Air Chief Marshal Mihăiță Lungu respectively. Each service is organized into a number of corps as required with each one generally carrying out a unique function, which is then organized downwards in bodies varying from service to service. Only the Army has reserves, and even then only in a select number of Corps - namely combat arms. Military Deployment: Since the Corburn Plains War of 1972, the Adanirian Armed Forces has seen no major deployment. Deployment has been limited to officially limited to peacekeeping operations - a small collection of neighboring nations which the Duchy is at peace with have accused the Grand Duchy of conducting disruption operations but the Duchy has dismissed it as slander. I will make a mockup of a nation, but i wonder if it is ok if i had a revolution? Where the government i will play ingame emerges and takes hold of the state? It would be a swift and stern one, but not a very long one.
I will write up the current government, i will add the government that takes over as a hider.

Important People: King Herbert XIV Galt. 67. Ruled since he was twelve, he is a ruler few care for and he holds little power. He is also passive. Queen Teresa Galt. 62. Been married to Herbert for fortythree years, she moved from the Novain court to provide a lasting diplomatic bond. As part of the Northburn diplomatic exit from the commonwealth. She was a symbol of future relations. Crown princess Teresa II Galt. 32. The first daughter and lawfull heir to the throne after the rewriting of the royal laws in 1968 during the exit from the commonwealth. She is rather popular, but not as a ruler but as a tv figure. Where she hosts several shows. Prince Kurt Galt. 34. Prince in Northburn, mayor of Bergaheim. Holds little public support, nor public agitation. He simply is. Former prince Erik Galt. 35. Died recently in a boat accident.
President Magdalena Havtorn. Current leader of the ruling conservative party. She holds some public support but her views are seen as 'old school'.
Minister Svend Verner. Leader of the up and coming nationalist party. He holds great popular support. But the nationalist party is seen as 'trouble' by many outsiders.
Håkan Bergamun. Leader of the Communistic environmental party. The environmental side of the party is highly popular, the only reason it holds seats at all in the parliament.
Embassies: Commonwealth. Stationed in Nordahammar. (The place that's gonna be south of Northburn). Stationed in Bergaheim.
Allies and Enemies: Northburn has somewhat good relations with most. They hold no official allies nor enemies.
Government Status: Constitutional Monarchy with very little power for the monarchy.
Econonic Status: Northburnian crowns. Or "Kroner" in northern. (KR) The currency is mostly nicknamed "Bränningar" by the populace. The crown is 0.47 Yarn. The economy is a newly instated limited state intervention system which mostly focuses on shutting down drastic drops in the economy. The economy is recovering from a low-turn. Otherwise the regular people have a rather good at GDP 32.000 Yarn. (I suck at math, how do i add the KR equivalent?)
Social Status: The recent economic depression has made the life in Northburn less extravagant, but basically none live in misery. The overarching majority of people in Northburn is in the middle class. The upper class however is actually more widespread in its wealth than normal. The middle class holds the majority of the votes in Northburn since every citizen holds one vote. Citizens have to be registered, and people are not born into citizenship. However, citizenship is usually granted to everyone who applies which can be done at 18 years of age. Which is also the legal age in Northburn. The school system in Northburn is highly successful and each child is taught a lot. This results in Northburns people having a high educational standard.
Military Status: The military has been lessened over the course of the economic depression, however during the 1940's several bases were built, and in the 1990's the military spending was rather high until the depression. Meaning the nations war materiel hasn't really been updated since the 90's. Compared to other nations, Northburns military is pathetic in size. The military research department is a monstrously monetarily efficient machine. Seeing several very high quality inventions prototyped with far less spending than some other nations. Northburn has high quality equipment at a reasonable cost, but little military spending so they don't have a lot of it. The Northburn military aircraft hold great quality, but few wants to buy them because of their low production rate. The northburn military defence force has a turretless tank of very high quality, it is capable of digging in by itself and has a very potent auto-loading 122mm rifled cannon. The sloped design of the tank makes it look like a wedge, which makes it highly resistant to incoming fire. The tank is not common however and its design was made in the 90's, making it superior back then, but due to 20 years without a replacement, a passable machine at best in the current years.
Military Structure: The military is a high quality and well equipped force that has their military service as their actual job. So it is what pays their salaries. The Northburn universal conscription was ended in the 2000's after a yearly drop in applications and funding since the 1960's. When the universal conscription was in effect all males of 18 years old served in the military for 8 months before returning to the general society. As it got less and less funding the amount of people actually accepted was what changed, so while everyone went to the conscription office, very few were accepted. Until the universal conscription was removed altogether.
The military is commanded by the grand commander of the army. This position is currently held by Erik Vikning. The grand commander has the chiefs of the armies branches at his command. Chief of land forces, Leif Bjure. Chief of air forces, Tord Kolm. Chief of sea forces, Berit Geter. Due to living in the northern hemisphere, Northburn is a land with a warm summer, but a harsh and cold winter. The army is therefore superiorly trained in winter conditions.
Military Deployment: The military is spread out over Northburn in their numerous hidden cave bases. And in their open training facilities. Some are out on peace keeping duties.
Total Manpower: 70'000
As the populace grow more and more weary of the conservatives ways, they realise that something new is needed. The nationalists have a new way. The nationalist party has grown more and more popular and shortly before the new elections, they act. With a daring move which is perfectly disguised as a bus accident, Magdalena Havtorn is assassinated along with several conservatist politicians. The nationalists win the election and the populace rejoices, the nationalists immediately begin with a massive push for the rebuilding of the economy and to build better infrastructure and employs hundreds of thousands of unemployed for the construction work. The economy is improved and support for Svend Verner goes through the roof! He reinstates the universal conscription which has held a cultural place in the populace, and also raises the military spending to some extent. He also adds a purity of nationality clause to the citizenship act in secrecy, which makes it harder for immigrants to receive citizenship in Northburn. He cuts religious spending in half and puts it towards school programs focusing on national pride and a choice between military history or mechanical engineering. Trying to provide an influx of competent researchers in all fields and an even deeper nationality.
As time moves on, the economy is thriving, and the new model government is assumed. Gone is the monarchy, and the party manages to improve their might in the parliament by changing how the votes are counted. It is now basically 100% nationalist party in the parliament. It is here Svend Verner assumes the role of grand commander after falsely imprisoning Erik Vikning for treason. The official story went that it was all a grand mistake, and mr Vikning's honor is never inquestion and will be released and publicly apologized. But he is assassinated with a serum which is very hard to detect and makes it appear as heart attack. Which is generally accepted since mr Vikning was very old.
In the end, Svend manages to turn Northburn into a dictatorship. After that, the nationalist party focuses on building more industry and to increase the army. Why do they need a big army? For defense against their neighbours who don't approve of them of course. Which is something the party works hard to emulate in media.
Research is made to modernize the army, and to construct nuclear weapons. The latter in secrecy. The fleet is modernized and focuses on making strike forces with one modern battleship with several escorting vessels, with massive AA defence and highly advanced satellite guided artillery.
All in all, Northburn plans to expand. By force. If this is not wanted, just say it. I'm also gonna feel for a day or two if i really want to join. But i will be clear with my choice and will decide before play starts.
@Klomster Did some number crunching for you, the KR equivalent of 32000 YN should be 68085.106383 KR (68085.106383 x 0.47 = 32000).

@Klomster Yeah, .106383 is the decimals. You could easily enough round it to the nearest whole number and call it 68085 KR to make it a bit closer to English. :p No problem, happy to help out ^-^
