Kind of two things I already asked about but I didn't get to see a response (if any) to them on the other site:

Will we ever be able to begin typing in the IC page (or vice versa) and then click the other tab to check content while the other tab's info is saved? The use I assumed we'd have for tabs was to check information as well as keep things better organized. I'd hate to type up half an intro, only to double check an OOC conversation and lose whatever I had been writing in the other tab for the RP.

And second, can we have a small status option down the line from the good old days? Please?

This is a good point.

I mentioned in my "Can I get some feedback on these mockups?" topic (cached) that it would be nice if you could tab between IC, OOC, and New Post without causing the page to load/refresh.

However, I found that it was bad UX to let the user click a nav element (like a tab) with the expectation that their post will just stay there.

Until I get a deliberate "Save Draft" feature (which is on my TODO), I'd rather people write their IC posts externally or in a separate browser tab. -- At the very least without the assumption that I'm going to magically save their post as they write it.

Also, I'm having trouble remembering how the status system worked. Wasn't it a lil textfield under your name that you could update whenever (across all your posts?).

Was there ever a way to make the url for the joined OOC/IC/CS (whatever) the same so that switching wouldn't "reload" the text box? But if you can't, then a "save" would be nice, thank you.

And the status was indeed just a small textfold/toggle that could be edited horizontally, as it was back when the avatars were above a post, rather than next to it itself so I think the space wasn't wasn't an issue as far as length but I think it had some character limit due to not wanting to stretch the page.

And was the "RP Card" going to be implemented or was that just something that you decided wouldn't be useful? (I know the old thread in the RP Discussion had a thread solely dedicated for cataloging a user's stats and preferences etc) So if there was ever an optional status, I assumed it might fit nicely where the RP-Card blub would be under the avatar, assuming it would all just go on the left.

Just a thought.

EDIT - And if the time stamp for posts could be slightly less vague, that would be awesome. But I assume the user cp and time stamps and subscriptions and PMs will all be dealt with in due time.

Yeah, the status thing used to be a line there under the username saying "<name> is..." and people could fill in whatever they wanted afterward. I think it'd be better to not have the word "is" in there if you want to have a status thing, because that forces goofy grammar and people can always put it in if they want it. Also, if you do decide to put it in, it'd be nice if it was an optional thing that could be hidden for people who don't like having a status thing visible. You could make it a line in the profile editing page, and if it's left blank then there would be nothing displayed on your posts where it's meant to go, like how the location thing worked on old RPG.

Also, Mahz, for that RP Card stuff, I never saw if you said you received the links to the archived pages I grabbed. Just in case, here they are again: Wayback Machine got pages 1, 2, 3, and 9, Google's caching stuff got pages 1, 2, 3, 4, and 7.

I'm sure someone already mentioned it as well but I get randomly logged out, and I didn't last night when I was using it. *waves hands a little* I'll see about cookies and all though.

- Fixed the logout issue. It was my fault. I made the cookies stickier so they wouldn't crumble away when your session ends.

After the next push, hoving over "pretty" dates will show you the actual timestamp down to the second.

I love that implementation.

Also, loading all posts in the IC/OOC tab so you can switch between them without losing your draft post would be hell on some people's connection. You realize that means loading up to 40 posts, plus all images associated with it, rather than just 20? Or worse, if you want to be able to browse the pages of OOC posts, it could be an unlimited amount of posts to load.

Honestly, guys, why not just use the TAB feature of your own browsers and open IC and OOC at the same time, then switch between them using your browser? It would a) save Mahz the headache, b) save bandwidth and some folks' connection rates (not everyone pays for 'Net access in unlimited packages) and c) is just more prudent.
