Personality: Tora is what one might call rough around the edges. He's confrontational and loves to get under people's skin. Sarcastic, he often makes rebuttals solely for the purpose of antagonizing people, knowing full well that what he says will bother them. To the point when speaking with others he leaves little room for tact, not bothering to beat around the bush as it would be. He's also fairly intelligent and confident in himself, a fact that makes him come across as arrogant to others. He enjoys thinking he's a step ahead of those around him, even if sometimes that is a self delusion. Normally he wears a mocking smile, not letting others know precisely what he is thinking until he says it aloud. While he has fun toying with people he knows when to stop, and if gone too far he will be prompt to try and make amends. He also has a bit of a perverted nature to him, making crude, off comments often about girls in school or around town, including Jocelyn. This is the Tora that the princess is familiar with anyways.
Outside of his high school persona Tora is far more quiet in his mannerisms. He retains his arrogance and still believes himself to be better than others, but if shown otherwise he will be humbled and acknowledge another person's strength. He doesn't make friends easily if at all, his tiny capability for putting up with other people making that quite difficult. While he doesn't particularly take joy in putting others down he will point out shortcomings or mistakes and try to make them improve. In a way that shows he actually cares for other people, wanting those around him to succeed. Tora can't openly show that however, and so inadvertently suggests improvement through biting remarks. When given a task he will see it completed at any cost, having commendable work ethic in that regard. However, marring his work ethic is his lack nature in regards to how the task is completed. He won't kill an innocent, but a few guards may die along the way if it means he gets his mark or information. He's efficient, but does things his way more often than not.
History: Tora is and always has been a member of Oracion, Elaweing's elite military force and the protectors of its royal family. From his youth he never knew of his family, being brought up under the care of his instructors, and later under the Headmaster himself. Even as a child he was a handful, often getting into fights with other children and even hitting caretakers and instructors. Seeing the fighting as misguided attempts at seeking attention, Headmaster Kael ordered Tora to be tutored privately as so he could be given more focus. Removal from the regular gatherings left him with little time for play with children, and for quite a while he was miserably lonely. The private teachings continued for a few months until, seeing how distressed the young boy was becoming, he was tentatively allowed back into the public system. While outbursts still happened he was a bit more well-tempered, and went through his education with far less conflict than before.
For inexplicable reasons that surprised his instructors Tora seemed exceptionally talented at combat. He was faster than most of the other students, stronger and had greater endurance as well. It wasn't even just brute strength that made him a surprising pupil, but he was also rather bright as well. It came as very little surprise to anyone then when the class graduated, and he came in the top three overall, being number 2 himself. Becoming fully fledged Guardians at 16 meant they were prepared to begin their service to the crown, and also undertake missions for the well being of Elaweing. The other two students that stood with him in the top three were both dispatched to the furthest reaches of the realm in order to see to their own tasks, and a rather unique assignment, from the Headmaster himself, was to be given to Tora. It was not a negotiable matter, not that the Headmaster thought the overzealous boy would refuse a chance to prove his mettle anyways. Unsurprisingly Tora readily accepted his job, and within the next year he was sent away to see to his job. He's now in a small school in Rhode Island, starting his first day as a new student there.
