Cold War NRP, anyone?

I haven't actually GMed a NRP before so I feel I would need a Co-GM for this, but it's an idea I'm craving. I tend to prefer historical or modern settings for NRPs so depending on interest we could do either of those. For simplicity's sake we could even do something with IRL nations if people desire.

Anyway, any interest? Further details can be hammered out once I gauge interest in the idea.

I'd be totally fine with a historical setting, maybe 50's or 60's? I also don't have a problem with using real nations.

I'll be admitive, I have never done a NRP before but I'm aware of its existence, how the basics work and I'm willing to try it out.

Colour me interested, the Cold War is one of my most favorite settings. :)

At this point I think I'd prefer using real life nations as it's my first time GMing something of this scale. Perhaps we can do some alternate history and start in the 1950's. Obviously there'll still be the two main NATO and Warsaw Pact factions.

Welcome aboard. I've done a Cold War NRP. They're a lot of fun. I played as Poland in one.

Would battles be decided by a dice roll or a comparison of Military statistics or a mix of both?

I'm no good with numbers so only way we could get into complicated stats was if I had a co-GM who could do it.

If I can't find somebody then chances are outcomes are just going to be decided by dice roll. I think that would be logical in most cases unless there's a battle between a small country and, say, the USA.

I think most people here want to settle for some historical based real-world scenario anyway so you're in luck.

I would definately be interested, I have some experience in NRP, in fact im running one now. I would be no flgood at researching numbers reliably (never done that before) however I can work with numbers quite well.

Interested, would be willing to co-GM if I can know more about it. I'd say we start right after WWII so that we can make everything the way we want it. Dibs on (in order of want)

1. USSR
2. China
3. Yugoslavia
4. Turkey
5. Iran (Try and save the Pahlavis)

However I'm more than willing to take more relevant countries if need be.

Also! If anyone goes and metagame they should be slapped.

I think I would either play my own country (Indonesia) or Egypt.

I have no real preference on country, but I can't help but want to at least try the USA, what with my Jingoistic urges. One thing I would say we may need to limit is revolutions in NATO or Warsaw Pact countries, because I think a similar Cold War NRP on the old site kind of went belly up when everyone started turning to the Soviet side just a few years into the game.
