Deep in the mountains, surrounded on all sides by thick forests rich with creatures of all kinds, there was a village. A seemingly small village, the sort where everyone knew everyone but you could still get lost among the trees.
They were a special kind of people though. Most thought of them as these high beings, perfect at everything they did. Perfect golden hair, tall and lean with pointed ear.
An elf.
They lived in the tops of the tall trees, with ropes extending from each platform to another wooden hut located across the forest floor. An archery range below and ropes courses and other fitness activities to keep the nimble creatures active. Though they were honored for their archery skills, they had a small battle arena for their sword wielding children.
In addition to their physical skills, they also excelled at magic. Sparks flickered from their fingertips and coursed through their veins. Many practiced it and hoped to become the next mage. Others stuck to becoming one of the needed soldiers, or simply hunting.
Every young elf though hoped to be skilled enough to join the squires of the high elf. The most important elves of the village become squires, and they were typical the top of their class. They grew to become the army general, head healer, or even the next high elf.
