Shouldn't the headmaster be Xavier? If I'm missing anything, sorry; I like Marvel but I don't really follow the stories all that closely, so I may not know something (e.g. if Xavier's dead now).

Well the headmaster was Xavier, and then AVX happened (Avengers Vs X-Men) and Cyclops killed Charles. Now in 616 the School is ran by Logan. However, considering I want the entire school, with the exception of the name, to be original, none of the original cast is here.

How about a power is based on a theoretical energy?

Dark energy is ever pushing away from dark matter. Free of the effects of the rest of the known universe (It doesn't lose speed due to distance, it passes though other matter with no known effect.) Ever pushing away from the dark matter that makes up the skeletal system of what we know. Theoretically it will push until the universe is so scattered that the atoms will no longer be able to attract one another *BLAH BLAH BLAH Dumbing down theory a-metric-lot here.* and everything will stop....
Basically I want to set up a power similar to dark energy. The character would be stressed with a body that repells from everything to a slight degree. (including the ground) I would make it have a physical negative trait of the character being blue and rather small (Its a born mutant not a puberty mutation). The character would be physically unable to sleep as well. As the body would naturally be creating vast amounts of energy.
Does that make any kinds of sense?

Yeah but what would the character do with all that energy? Focused blasts? Enhanced strength or speed? Just saying energy is rather vague.

Personally I would like to go with gravity manipulation buti don't have steady wifi or data on my phone to do it. Just throwing my two cents in.

Well yeah im trying to be vague at the moment. I can describe it in more detail, but I wanted to make sure the gm was actually cool with a energy source that was based on a loose science. Some people get really up tight over actual theory vs science fiction, Which I find funny.

Just so you can get a rough idea the power was going to be a rolling stone. The characters body is extremely dense and seeing as they naturally repel everything they are something similar to cannon ball. As mentioned its naturally repelling things so unless its at high speed and or large in mass its going to be pushed away making physical contact harder for anyone but combat wise its a huge perk. I imagine physical injury would be terrible for the mutant, as the dense body naturally controls how the energy is emitted but if its been damaged it would be the equivalent of tearing a fin off a fish.

Does that make it more clear? And I wont be heart broken if you don't like it Mr/Ms gm Just an idea im fond of, not married to.

Well you have to be more specific, and also you cannot prevent someone from creating a character with similar powers to yours. There is more than one Telepath.

In comic books published by Marvel Comics, a mutant is an organism (usually otherwise human) who possesses a genetic trait called an X-gene that allows the mutant to naturally develop superhuman powers and abilities.

Geoff's mother was a scientist studying the inner workings of the universe. During an experiment, she and her unborn son were exposed to large amounts of cosmic energy. It made his mother ill, and she died in childbirth, but Geoff's young, malleable DNA was permeated with the Power Cosmic and, through bonding with it, survived. ...

.... Now in full possession of his abilities, he sought out other mutants to help them as the Surfer had helped him.

@GrandDM2 - How is Geoff a mutant exactly?
His origin doesn't match Marvel's definition of what makes a mutant a mutant. Geoff's origin is less X-Men and more Fantastic Four.

    Dictionary said Mutation
    mjuːˈteɪʃ(ə)n
    noun

    [...]

    2.
the changing of the structure of a gene, resulting in a variant form which may be transmitted to subsequent generations, caused by the alteration of single base units in DNA, or the deletion, insertion, or rearrangement of larger sections of genes or chromosomes.

The cosmic energy caused his genetics to alter - he was still growing in the womb at the time of exposure, so he gained his powers as a result of his changed DNA. That fits the definition of mutation, even if it was induced rather than natural.

I have a interest in this, so I'll keep my eyes on it.

And just to put in my two cents, GDM2, that may make him an actual, literal mutant, but the word used as Marvel terminology specifically means someone that gained their powers through the X-gene. Your character is more of a regular superhero than a capital-m Mutant.

If it's that big of an issue, I'll just make it so the cosmic radiation influenced his X-gene. Different fluff, same result.

    Edited to that effect.
