Equipment:
[Balsa™ Industries TS-series Type 4 Operator Battle Kit] - One of the latest entries into the world-leading TS-series by Balsa Industries, the Type 4 OBK is a modular full-body armor set using ceramic-over-titanium plates to maximize protection and minimize weight. The set is normally worn over full-sleeve BDU's of the operators choice, although it is recommended that the BDU has high breathability. Levi has personally set up her OBK to facilitate command, including an enhanced communication module, a detialed heads up display suite and a forearm-mounted PDA.
[HK-X12/SO] - The HK-X12 is a controversial yet successful rifle, currently standing as the service rifle of the German Military. Many criticize the rifle for its lack of modularity, with many features and additions requiring the manufacturer to install or bought in the variation of the rifle, although the rifle is practical and hardy even with such features in exchange. The SO - special forces - variation arguably the most successful variation of the rifle, coming with an array of features whilst remaining hardy and reliable; the unit is expensive but falls within the budget of most world special forces units. The rifle utilizes 6.5mm caseless ammunition with a standard capacity of 50+1 rounds with due credit to modern propellant. The barrel shroud features an integrated silencer and the extensive fabrication underneath the barrel features a recoil control system, reducing the kick of the rifle significantly. The optic underneath the holosight allow permits for thermal vision to be utilized by the holosight more effective than traditional thermal optics.
[Takashi APP-3™] - The APP-3, produced by Takashi Arms Development by commission of the Japanese Government, is a relatively modern sidearm utilizing 10mm caseless ammunition with a capacity of 20+1 rounds. The pistol is considered something of an oddity due to the Japanese historically producing substandard firearms; some even believe this is a herald of change in the world firearms industry, and many entrepreneurs and organizations watch Takashi Arms Development eagerly for new releases. The pistol itself is capable of single and three-round burst fire and features gyrostabilization in the barrel, vibration-warning system in the handle to warn the user the current magazine is running low on ammunition and a picatinny rail on the top of the weapon for any mounts, where Levi mounts a red dot sight. The pistol comes stock with a laser-flashlight mount on the bottom of the weapon although Levi has replaced this with a more modern release by Takashi Arms Development, which features a laser sight and a suppressor.
[M3 Stun Knife] - The M3 Stun Knife, produced by independent arms designer and entrepreneur David Manopoli by commission of United States Law Enforcement to help progress militarization of the United States Police Force. The knife was initially criticized for its low weight in the M1 version and excessive weight in the M2 verison, and has come to a well received balanced in M3. At the price of the lack of blade on the top side, the knife features a metal rod capable of delivering up to 50,000 volts with .02 amps - the same as most tasers. A number of special forces units find this knife useful with appropriate training and utilization.
Backstory:
Levi was born on the eastern seaboard of Australia, not too far out of Sydney, to a pair of working class parents as the oldest of three children, with two younger brothers. Her fathers side of the family has been in Australia for a number of years with strong Lithuanian roots and her mothers side are Italian immigrants that came during the gold rush.
Her early life was fairly standard for residents of the community but relatively barbaric compared to the more common suburban areas: there was a good 50 minutes walk between home and school, a fun afternoon often came with some scrapes and bruises and the average kid could unknowingly break their toe during the saturday game of football for the local minors football club and finish the game; in this respect, whilst she would never be a great mind of the world, she would grow up with natural proficiency for soldiering. She maintained average grades throughout elementary school which diminished over time until her second-last year of high school, where she opted to drop out of school in favor of a career in the military in light of disinterest and failing classes.
Joining the military, Levi aspired to be a nurse. She aspired to be something more than the stigmatized "bush girl" and find her place in eventually find her place in modern society. She was accepted into the military not long after her 18th birthday and spent her 110 days - formerly 90 but since lifted to include a full unit of melee training - and moved on to the Australian Army School of Nursing a soldier. Levi never fully came to click with the training and didn't have a great bedside manner and in turn, about 150 days into her nursing course, Levi concluded that it simply wasn't her - she transferred into the Royal Australian Infantry Corps and came to join a Rifle Section.
After a consistent 3 years service as a rifleman, Levi went on to receive training and qualification in junior leadership and became a Lance Corporal as a Section 2IC before putting her hand up for Special Forces selection not even 2 months after getting back. She qualified and went on to attend and pass selection for the Special Air Services Regiment. After completing her training, she took up her new role as the 2IC of an SASR section.
Levi served well for the following 4 years within the SASR and climbed as high as Sergeant, acting as a Platoon Sergeant for an SASR platoon at the peak of her time within. Her high performance ultimately drew the attention of powers from above - the Australian Secret Intelligence Service - for good reason; their attention ultimately turned into requisition at the conclusion of Operation Tangerine, where a failing operation intended to destabilize a region of South-East Asia which would land the Australian Government at the center of international controversy was salvaged and even completed in a shocking twist, albeit with significant casualties, due to her leadership. Levi went on to perform a number of solo operations for ASIS as a requisitioned SASR operative - such as Operation Frog Eater, renowed within the Oceania Intelligence community - before, after being tested with a number of operations by the Intelligence Director, being plucked away from the world at the director's behest to join the "Omni Initiative".
As an Omni Operative, secrecy went beyond even a major part of the job: life revolved around secrecy. As the Omni Initiative legally had no right to exist, it was standard procedure that any and all information on an agent is destroyed or dealt with and monitored; it's simply a risk the director isn't willing to take. The nature of work within Omni is very dirty and a number of crimes were committed in the name of the director's interests for Australia, from assassinating rogue ASIS agents intending to expose evidence of ASIS' hand in proxy wars in the name of the greater good to ensuring the wrong man is put in prison so the director can carry out his end of the bargain the latest of his plots.
In 2079, in an event felt across the world, an overly progressive President of Australia - president, as Australia became a Republic in 2031 - died in a suspicious car crash in an underpass in Canberra; Levi, leading a small team, carried out the assassination as the President was becoming alert to the director's plots. The masterminds at the helm of ICRG ultimately found out about the assassination and presented an ultimatum: contribute a number of resources to ICRG and trial the operatives on the mission if they are not surrendered to ICRG in private session or the United Nations will take a proportionate amount of action. Levi was soon transferred to ICRG and has remained there since.
