Sorry guys, I just heard from Poly and he's currently indisposed. I had been waiting for his lead to move things forward but he's now asked me to get things rolling.
As such, I will update as soon as possible, tomorrow afternoon at the earliest. I will have to sockpuppet a few people but I will try my best to get the ball rolling again for everyone who's still interested. Thank you all for bearing with us.
And let me pop in just long enough to offer my apologies as well. I regret that I have been unable to devote the amount of time to this as I should, y'all deserve better than that. I'll be back on top of things shortly and would like to thank all of you for your patience.
She stands at about 5’9’’ with an average body shape. She uses mild amounts of makeup with the occasional red lipstick. She decorates her names with simple dark blue nail polish most of the time. She also has a noticeable purple rune on her mid back, a bit below her shoulder. Powers/Skills:
: Gypsy’s powers resides in the manipulation of space, primarily through the use of portals. The portals have a myriad of uses and capabilities. They can be used to summon weaponry, creatures(though usually nothing too complex), basic items, and other such things. They must immediately be put back into portals after use though, as they tend to have essences of her portal on them that, otherwise, could lead to people tracking her down by feeling the similar wavelengths between the object and her. This is possible due to Electi essentially reading her mind for a moment on what she wants and bringing it to her location. Where they come from is currently unknown. However, it’s not limited to bringing objects to her location. She can effectively teleport herself or other beings to other locations in the world within an instant. However, unlike the summons which are taken care of by Electi, she must have an idea of where she would like to go and the location. This is usually done by access of a phone she obtained with Google Earth on it. The moment she knows where to go, the act is simple. Such long trips cause massive energy drains upon her, usually leading to her having to rest for some time, usually about 6 hours. Her ability to close portals are also helpful as she can close them essentially in any fashion she chooses. This can lead to quick deaths to those that engage her, but she must be very quick on the draw before they simply remove whatever part is trapped in the portal.
Despite these advantages, Gypsy has faults. Being quick on the draw of her portals takes far more concentration and is easier said than done. Closing portals themselves even takes a decent amount of focus. Overuse of portals can also lead to exhaustion and, even quicker than that, headaches and nosebleeds. Adding to that, the large she makes a portal, the more strain she endures and having multiple portals open at a time or creating multiple portals in rapid succession can drain her fast. She also is not accustomed to combat with the portals, primarily focusing on simply grabbing weaponry from her portals if need be. That or summoning something to fight for her. On top of that, she herself isn't very physically strong and isn’t very suited for combat. If someone were to get in close, she’s effectively defenseless if she doesnt think quick. She also tends to get frustrated easily in combat, which makes proper portals harder to maintain or keep in without stress on Electi. Usually to make up for her poor defense, she summons something in front of her to protect her from oncoming hits.
Equipment/Resources:
The only really notable equipment is the hood she wears. So long as she wears it and Electi wills it, it changes her appearance to whatever Electi desires. A primary appearance he enjoys giving her is an albino girl with long black hair for some reason. It can shift between many other appearances, but the one defect is that they have to have a similar facial structure as her. However, hair, eyes, ears, blemishes, and other such facial features are completely bendable to the cloak’s whim. Besides that, she has a bag of general supplies she tends to need. Water, some basic snacks, the funds from the institute, a butterfly knife for self defense, a taser, and some mace. She also has the phone she uses for Google Earth for teleporting to locations and a charger for said phone, along with a handheld gaming device and a mp3 player. She also has a laptop to help find info or in case she’s bored and a bit of basic makeup.
Biography:
26 years ago....26 years ago a single US traveler to the land of Greece mysteriously vanished from the cruise she was on. She was lost only for a week and was found by researchers in northern Canadian forests. But there was something strange. Her body was covered in strange runes and she explained to them she was gone much longer than a week, a year in fact. It was at the house they put her as a temporary keeper that a strange portal emerged from one of the runes. According to them, they had no idea why it opened. They entered it for a moment to see what was in there and came out moments later with strange devices. Immediately, hands rushed to call over other researchers or scientists, but ones that would keep a lid on the events transpiring.
The exact going ons of what happened next were never documented, not even by the crew, but the next exploration began the next week. Strangely, time was normal for those that went in as opposed to the person that would be known as "Pathfinder." There was nothing found documented on this either. More ventures were made and they announced the world temporarily would be codenamed as the "Parallel." Before long, more items were found from the other side and some even gained strange abilities from chance encounters on the other side. These people would later be dubbed as "modern wizards." Much of the other data found there, however, was kept as secret as possible. Either way, the researchers knew they had found something spectacular, but it was such a brand new field that they couldn't make a scientific name for it. In fact, it didn't seem to relate much to any field of science at the time. So came a natural thought. The idea of finding out how these to relate. They wanted to know how the Parallel worked. They wanted to know how it related to Earth as they knew it. They wanted to see how this will benefit mankind. They wanted to learn.
Thus began their biggest work. Started two years after the finding of Parallel, the group that knew of it decided to make an actual lab to conduct in. After convincing Pathfinder to assist, they began work and before long, the labs was created, deep in the northern Canadian forests. There Project Artemis began its first tests. It was simple at first. Research was done on anything found in Parallel. Plants, tools, samples from the creatures there. It was rather basic, but one scientist had an idea. Creating wizards. While most questioned the ethicality of this, they were curious. Using a mixture of already established in vitro fertilization research, findings from Parallel, and simple lambs, they wanted to see just how much magic could affect the possibility of cloning before trying anything too risky. While the first creatures proved to be duds as they died very soon, they obtained a key component. Scales from a draconic specimen they called the Hydra that melted into a find, mercury like liquid. They mixed tiny bits of this liquid with the sperm of male sheep and later, female sheep. It was a miracle the first try worked. The lambs born from this mixture were indistinguishable from a naturally born lamb and expected to have the same life expectancy. And only in a year’s time. Before long, they tried the same with primates, having confirmed success and even a longer life expectancy within just a year and a half. Though the first batch had features of hydras, sadly. Either or, it was time for the big one.
Many of the donors for the offspring were actually employees of Project Artemis. They wanted to see this project prosper as much as possible. Soon, the children arrived and were all practically successes. Then came the mixtures of Parallel samples to try and garner wielders of what they would call "magic." It took some mixing and matching, with help from the hydra essence helping to make the samples more easily interchangeable and insertable. Before long, they were taking up occupancy at such a rate that an expansion of the facility could not contain. Instead, a secondary location needed to be found. They decided upon a remote Australian island that was teeming with life and covered in trees. The movement of any and all materials and children from the Canadian location was kept as secret as possible. The children were holding promise as many were able to use magic, but nothing spectacular. Until they thought up a plan on their 5th year.
A baby that would be "enchanted" by one of the runes of Pathfinder while still being in its beginning stages of fetal life-it seemed so simple. However, every time, the baby, for whatever reason, could not take the strain no matter what DNA they attempted to mix and all died before proper birth. BR-52 was to meet the same fate. The two who helped give the egg and sperm to make her, a modern wizard and normal human woman named Mr and Mrs Ferrara, were practically praying. They wanted this child not just because she’d possibly herald a new age of magic and science relation, but the simple fact that they wanted a child. A child no matter what. As if by hearing the plea, a strange creature descended upon the husband in his sleep. Nothing was none about it and the moment he woke up from the dream it summoned upon him, it raced off. It was just...gone. However, BR-52 wasn’t.
Her vitals were back to healthy stats to the surprise of the scientists. In a few more month’s time in fact, she was ready to finally be properly born. From what little they could gather, her readings were exactly what they were hoping for and more. The parents hugged and decided to give her the name they felt would be best for a girl that could possibly change the world. “Isabella Hope.”
Most of the children were expected to have decent magical prowess by the age of 12. She was expected to be even better than that. Yet, they tried not to stress her, knowing that it end with ill results. They even tried to make sure she knew little about her actual origins until they felt she was ready. However, there was one thing they did not account for-the creature.
In those inner parts of her mind, the one place they couldn’t inspect, it laid. Since she turned 12, it made its presence known as it wandered her dreams whenever she slept. Before long, she started talking with it, curious about it's nature in her mind. It was an honest being for the most part. Saying that it was from a realm that it couldn't show her just yet, saying how it helped saved her life, saying how her origins actually were, and reassuring her that her parents, from its perspective, cared for her despite this. Of course, there was still doubt, but one thing was for certain. This being...it was almost a brother to her. And upon her 14th birthday...it decided it was time.
First, it introduced properly, and told her its name would simply be “Electi” for the meantime. Secondly, was the use of the powers it granted her. It told her proper use of it and application, but far more appropriate-what the power actually was. From what the scientists saw from her power, the basic consensus was it revolved around the use of summons. Seemingly creating weaponry and even small creatures. Which they were somewhat right on. It was instead manipulation of portals and space, simply bringing items from other places in the world. “There was more to it then even that” It hinted at. But that was for when she was older. Until that point, she was to learn how to truly harness the power.
For the next few years, Isabella couldn't help but feel this strange feeling of dread. Her portal powers were becoming better and stronger...But the fact still did not change. Her true origins, the creature within her, and analyzing just how the members of the faculty were truly treating her. They recognized her,of course, but she couldn't help but feel as though they were doing it under obligation. And the more she read there faces and mannerisms, the more and more she felt she was right. At the age of 17, she decided it needed to addressed.
She addressed it first with her parents. She lied about the exact method she found out, saying that she stumbled upon the files unbeknownst to the scientists. They sighed and said that they wanted her more than anything and that this was simply the best way to bring her into the world as they couldn't have children themselves. Simple fact of, the fact was that the facility also were trying for the enchanted child around the time they decided to have a child themselves. They knew the risk but had faith that she’d be the one to live. And vowed to her that, despite her origins, they still loved her dearly, powers or not.
Isabella didn’t know who to believe. She wanted to believe her parents, but she just knew deep down they were still hiding how something. The night of the day she told them, she had Electi create portals inside the walls of the facility to keep ear out. In one corridor, her father was walking over to the Head of Research’s room. Another portal was opened under his desk and the two listened in. Electi remained silent and even a bit quizzical but Isabella...didn’t want to believe what they were saying.
The next day, she was gone. And so too were about a good $2,000 worth of funds from the institute's personal account. Searches were put globally put for her. Milk cartons, wanted signs, alerts to any affiliated organizations, any connections they had. The parents were in pure grief from her feeling, feeling as though they were responsible. But Isabella would never know. She was too far and she never wanted to look back. She knew this wasn’t something she could half ass at this stage. She didn't even know what was truly beyond those white walls. Maybe somewhere out there lied something she could use to help figure out just what held the truth she seeked and what could uncover the lies she believed existed. Electi did not voice his opinion but instead popped in a cloak from unknown whereabouts, simply telling her that it would help conceal her appearance.
Afterwards, she wandered the Earth, creating portals to different locales in an effort to evade her captors. The portals brought her to many different nations and each had no clue of just where she was from. In her mind, she had succeeded. In every nation, however, she gained a reputation among the common folk as a helpful wanderer as she used her portals to help townsfolk and city folk lives. Whether it be simply fetching a cat from a tree or helping a drowning child, her assistance was appreciated. When asked on why she didn't, the Champions she simply shrugged it off before going on her way. She didn’t care much for them nor any of the news involving them, but she did respect the fact of their helpful nature. Overtime, she decided to give herself an identity to those who demanded her name. To simply be known as “The Gypsy.”
@ZekariVoblis Overall the sheet looks fine but they are a few continuity issues. This RP is set in the first five or so years of superhumans being discovered. Now magic has existed for a very long time in this world, but before this time period, very few people would have known of its existence much less invest enormous financial resources into magical research. Governments certainly would have studied magic after the first superhuman appeared but its very unlikely they had such a large effort beforehand.
If any group would have experimented with such a thing it was either a very specialized corporate interest or an occult group. It wouldn't have been so widespread and institutionalized. So the origin needs a bit of reworking, perhaps it was some corporation or sorcery group or perhaps even a classified government operation that performed the research. But it would have been very secretive, very small, and very illegal. And I believe we hit our cap for Canadian characters, you could pick something Western European or even Australian though.
Other than that there's no issues I see with the sheet. So if you want to make a few adjustments we should be good to go.
@Banana Good to hear it, no rush to post, get one up whenever you're ready.

Taken care of and edited as such. Quick note, Project Artemis was largely self funded as many renowned and financially booming researchers and scientists were a big part of the project. Just to make it slightly more realistic.
