It had been a rough first day of school. After all, the young man had just moved to this city with his abusive father, and Jordy could feel everyone's curious stares and hear their whispers. But Jordy couldn't blame them. After all, the boy had two different colored eyes, and Jordy had a stutter whenever the boy spoke, which only grew worse when Jordy was scared or angry.
But instead of walking straight home, Jordy made his way to the playground, backpack draped on his shoulders, heavy with the school books and other needed items for the year. Wiping his eyes, Jordy sniffled softly and plopped down upon a swing, the sun already sinking steadily below the horizon with the Winter hours looming over them, the boy kicking at the sand, letting out a long deep breath, hands tightening around the chains holding up the swing.

Lilith, 16

Lilith had been at this school for years but was bit of an unnoticed presence as she didn't really talk to people and she was always focusing on other stuff. She was in the shadows of the building by the swings, waiting for the sun to go down so she could sit on the swings and think. Her eyes were better in the dark as the sun set and she saw another person and sat on the swing next to him but didn't speak as she looked down. Her fangs were hidden by her lips and her eyes were hidden by her long black flowing hair. Her eyes were green but a light green as she swung quietly on the swing.

As the girl sat down upon one of the other swings, Jordy slowly turned his gaze over to see, but then quickly looked away with a frown, not wanting the girl to see his two different colored eyes. And like the girl, Jordy also didn't speak, for Jordy was much too shy because of the stutter the boy had. Instead, the boy merely gently rocked back and forth, purposely not looking at the girl.

Lilith looked over to the boy quietly but she saw he was shy. "Hey, if you are afraid of anything, I don't judge, it would be stupid for me to judge, the shy girl who avoids everyone, the girl who stays late in this playground every day, people wonder why I don't leave this playground until late at night but it is none of their business, no one needs to know what is going on in my life, I am Lilith by the way, what is your name" she held her hand out to shake but moved it suddenly, conscious about her touch, which was as cold as ice.

As the girl spoke, Jordy looked over at her, biting at his lower lip. Should he talk to her? Oh...What should he do?!? Swallowing har, Jordy whispered. "I-I-I...I-I'm J-J-J-Jordy..." The boy grimaced, swallowing hard.

Lilith showed a gentle closed mouth smile, to hide her fangs. "Nice to meet you Jordy, so what are you doing out here at this late hour, you don't have to tell me" She told him quietly. Her parents still wanted her dead as she looked down quietly, thinking about the past and everything that had happened, from her sister's death to the start of the abuse to her running away. The abuse had started because her sister had died and she was blamed.

The raven-haired-boy shrugged, biting at his lower lip, and now nervously fiddling with his hands. "I-I-I...w-would r-r-rather n-not..." Jordy grimaced, combing a hand through his hair.

Lilith nodded but she had a look of worry on her face. "I used to be like you once, so scared to say anything but now I say if they want to know about my life it is none of their business" If you looked carefully, you could see some injuries that took a few weeks to heal and were almost healed. She kept thinking about her past and curled up into a ball on the swing, trying not to fall off as she stayed quiet now.

Why was this girl talking to him? Nobody ever spoke with Jordy. The sixteen-year-old quickly wiped his eyes before suddenly hoping off the swing and snatching his backpack. "I-I-I'm s-sorry. I-I-I-I h-have t-t-to g-go." Glacing up at the girl, Jordy slung his backpack over his shoulders, and hurried away.

Lilith nodded quietly. "I will be staying here, don't ask me for how long because I don't know myself, as long as I can take the risk of staying in the same place before I am in danger of being found, It was nice meeting you Jordy and I hope I will see you at school tomorrow if I manage to hide and not be found but if I am found you will never see me again, who I am running from want to kill me but hopefully tonight win't be my death but you can't run from your past forever, I know that and my past is catching up on me fast and it will kill me when it does so if you don't see me tomorrow then I am most likely dead" she admitted.

At the girl's words, Jordy's eyes grew wide, and the sixteen-year-old had no idea what to say. Someone wanted her dead?!? Why?!? And who?!? Jordy blinked and gulped. And without a word, Jordy turned and hurtied home, heart pounding at the strange encounter.

Lilith secretly followed him, hiding quietly. She was scared of being found as she followed him to his home silently, biting her lip with her fang quietly as she kept following him silently so dhe wouldn't be found.

The next day, it was Jordy who didn't show up to school. Someone had left Jordy a mysterious note, saying if Jordy showed his face around again, Jordy would wind up dead. Wiping his two different colored eyes, the boy instead hid all day at the park, where he had met that odd girl yesterday.

Lilith had gone to the park as well as she had saw what happened and was crying on the swing and she looked in a bad state as after she saw her parents caught her and she managed to narrowly escaped death as she cried on the swing, badly injured.

Looking over, Jordy saw the raven-haired-girl from yesterday. But she looked...hurt...! Blinking in alarm and surprise, Jordy shyly walked over to the girl.
"Y-Y-You're h-h-h-h-hurt...!" Jordy exclaimed, wondering what had happened to her. Lilith...was her name?

"I am more used to it than you would expect, getting injuries like this used to ve a daily thing for me, my past caught up with me, and I know the truth" she admitted.

"D-Don't y-y-you n-n-need a.. a h-hospital?" Jordy squeaked. The boy gulped, not sure what do. Who wanted this girl dead? And why? Jordy bit on his lower lip, heart pumping.

"I can't go to the hospital, no one can know what happened, and as I said I know, I walked past your house and saw what was happening" tears filled her eyes even more. "You neec to leave soon or it will get worse, I know what it us like" she mumbled quietly.

The sixteen-year-old froze. She...She saw...?!? Gulping, Jordy combed his hands through his black shaggy hair. Oh man..."I-I-I...d-don't h-h-have a-anywhere e-e-e-else..." Jordy began to chew on his lower lip. The boy began to pace, not knowing what to do.

Lilith looked down quietly. "I can teach you how to survive on your own, I am not an expert, it has only been a few weeks, I am on the run, you are not the only one who has gone through that" she told him quietly as she curled up into a ball on the swing, crying. "Seeing what happened made me upset because I knew that you needed to get out"
