" Bah. I thought I got rid of her. I thought I...imagined I telling you to hit me. When...she is here...the line between reality and imagination goes really thin. Don't know what's real and what is my imagination. I guess...I have to give you some answers now. I never wanted to have this talk with anyone , let alone the one I....like. Very much. Ok. So , where to begin ? Where to begin ?
Ah. I know... *she took a deep breath and continued* I was 15/16 when , she , first appeared. I got trapped inside a den of Blighters. There were too many and more than 10 of them were upon me , clinging to my cloths and skin. I was afraid. It was the first time in my life when I was that scared. I knew that if I teleported a small distance they would still be with me. So , I did what my...the scavenger that raised me always told me to not do. I teleported more than 1 km away from where I was and into a random place ( if she teleports into a place she never saw before , there is the chance she will teleport into a tree / the ground etc. Killing her in the process. ) . The Blighters , even if they came with me all that way , died instantly. Their brains couldn't withstand the impact of the teleportation. Then...in a moment. I fell on the ground. The last thing I saw was a man looking at me. It was...from what I know now. Hunter.
When I woke up. I was not in my body anymore. It was like I was in a cage. It was dark around me. I couldn't see anything. I couldn't hear anything. I screamed and screamed until I remained without a voice. I hit the walls 'till I didn't feel my hands anymore. I was scared. Then...one day. I don't know how much time it passed. I heard a voice. It was the most beautiful sound I ever heard and then I opened my eyes but I was not in control of my body. She was. I tried to move , to talk , to do anything but it didn't work. I was a prisoner inside my own body. I saw Hunter. I saw her. The one that I call Alex now. I saw what she made me do. What HE made me do. It was...bad and then...after a week or so. I woke up. I was in control again and when Hunter approached me. I put a knife in his heart. Thought he died. I teleported as far as I could without going over my limits and I ran and I ran. I don't know how much but I knew I ran far , far away from him.
He , of course , found me a few months later and the rest of the story you know...Questions , loverboy ? " she gave him a kiss on the lips.

Tokala listened intently before kissing her back. He pulled away after a moment and gently moved her onto his lap. He held her close and kissed her again before sighing. "Please don't make me hit you ever again" he kissed her forehead before laying back and holding her so she was laying on his chest. "how often does 'Alex' come around or is it only when you travel too far?" he wanted to know how often this might occur...if he had to keep knocking her out. If he would have to worry about it.

He could live with this. He really did not mind, just being caught off guard by a different person in his girlfriends body threw him off guard. He wanted to be prepared if this happened again. Or maybe he could learn more about the other side of her.

Kyle layed in bed with Ranna, unable to sleep but at peace. He was completely sober by now, but still believed he must be drunk because what just happened blew his mind. Kyle smiled and twirled a lock of Ranna's hair in his finger, just watching her sleep. She looked peaceful as well...sleeping in his arms. He thought to himself, "If I died right now I would die a happy man." Kyle realized he needed her more than he realized. She was the eye of his storm and he realized if anything happened to her.....no Kyle refused to think about that.

Kyle brushed Ranna's hair and whispered into her ear.

"Hey....wake up."

Ranna moved against him a little and mumbled "Kyle? Is something wrong?" She asked yawning. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Zach had fallen asleep outside the office and awoke when this person walked around his legs to bang on the door. Zach got to his feet and saw who it was. "Ahh fuck me! Why are you here?" Zach and the messenger didn't like each other much and Zach yelled as he banged on the door. "Ranna get out here. You are out of time!"

Ranna opened her eyes and fear invaded her thoughts. "Oh no!" She scrambled to her feet and threw on her clothes. She tossed Kyle his and tried to make herself presentable to whomever had come to take her back.

Kyle lazily got up and rubbed his eyes.

"Shut the fuck up I dont care! Tell him to kill himself!"

Kyle caught his clothes thrown by Ranna, and slowly put on his pants. He buckled them, but put on nothing else. Kyle walked over to the door and opened door to his room. Then he walked over and opened the building entrance door.

"Hi! Why are you here?"

The messenger looked past him to Ranna and said, "Princess I am hereby ordered to bring you home and to put Zachariah to death for ignoring his orders." Ranna pushed past Kyle and she ordered the messenger outside. She followed him and looked at Zach.

"That explains your strange behavior." She looked at Randall and told him. "I'm not going back there. And if you think I'll let you kill Zach you are sorely mistaken." Randall placed a letter in her hand and said he needed to be on the road with her by morning. Zach was still looking at the ground.

"Kyle come here." Ranna said opening the letter.

Kyle walked over to Ranna, half asleep.

"What is it? Do I need to kill anyone?"

Ranna handed it to him. "My mother sent another messenger for me and they are talking about brining the army in to get me back." Ranna was visibly upset and was trying not to cry. "I'm not going." Zach looked at Randall and shook his head. "Good luck, she isn't going to go with you."

Kyle walked over to the messenger, and smiled as he firmly grasped the messengers right shoulder. Then he forced him to the ground, and using his left index finger he concentrated a beam of light to burn something into the messengers flesh. Kyle moved fast, and after a few seconds Kyle jumped back and let the messenger get up. When the messenger stood, the word "NO" was very clearly visible.

"In case your group needs proof of what our answer is. Tell them Obsidian is willing to parley and speak of peace, but I have a feeling they wont. So, like I said, thats our answer."

Ranna was almost frantic. She pulled Kyle back inside a moment and tears escaped her already burning eyes. "No, you don't get it they will bring the army and look at the city as hostile. They will wipe it out and take me anyway!"

Kyle held Ranna in his arms and kissed the top of her head.

"No they wont. I will personally hold them back and never let them touch you. Ranna...you are Obsidian now and nothing will ever change that."

Kyle pondered what life would be like without Ranna, and he did not like what he was seeing in his mind. Ranna was very precious to him now, and with Hunter coming to attack soon, they needed her now more than ever. Kyle had another thought.

"Hey....your tribe wouldnt have some sort of leader versus leader fight to determine all type of honor thing would they?"

Zach laughed, "Kyle, I'm not going to let you fight Ranna's mom." He chuckled. "I already told you the only ways she can stay."

Kyles eyes lit up. He chuckled slightly, and began tapping his finger nervously.

"Ye-yea no I-I-remember. Yea no yea totally. Thanks for reminding. Cant I just fight Ranna's mother? I mean that would be so much simpler."

Ranna still frantic, looked at them like they are nuts."What the hell are you two talking about?" She was pacing and getting ready to run. Her stomach was in knots and she couldn't allow anyone to make her marry some stranger. The thought of laying with anyone but Kyle made her want to vomit. She started shoving her things into a bag.

Kyle watched Ranna, and sighed. He figured she would do something like this. But he didnt really have any sort of plan for this. Kyle gave Zach a look and walked over to his desk. He pulled open a drawer and pulled out a small black box, no bigger than his palm. Kyle pocketed it. He walked back over to Zach

Zach looked at Kyle curiously. Ranna was clearly getting ready to run and hide somewhere. He chuckled to himself because he knew she wouldn't go far to hide because of Kyle.

Kyle raised his eyebrow at Zach, then looked at Ranna.

"Ranna you're not going anywhere. Stop being dramatic. There is no need for you to go anywhere. And besides, what will you running away acomplish? I mean, do you think you're mom will leave us alone, even if you ran away?"

"Stop being dramatic? They aren't planning on marrying you off to god knows who?" Ranna was tired and frustrated and she still had no answers that would fix the situation. "I'm not going....I'm just not." Ranna lay down on the bed for a minute.

Kyle walked over to Ranna and sat down next to the bed. In one swift motion, Kyle pulled out the black box, and tossed it, the black box landing on Ranna's stomach with a small thump.

"Lo-look ok I am not very good at this. I like to think my words are made of honey and that my looks buy my lot in life. But sometimes.....it isnt enough. My words fail me, and I need someone at my side to keep me afloat. Ranna.....open the box."

Ranna opened the box and sucked in her breath. "Kyle?"

Kyle perked up.

"Yea babe whats up?"

Ranna looked at the ring. "Is this ....are you asking me? I need you to say it."

Kyle leaned forward, his face inches from Ranna's.

"Ranna will you marry me?"

Ranna's heart flipped and she nodded as she tackled him and kissed him silly. "Yes! Yes I will."

The messenger Randall started to object and Zach pushed him out the door and closed it for Ranna and Kyle. "Tell them she is married to the leader of the Obsidian tribe. She will be before you get there. Also, tell them I'm staying with her to carry out my duties to her. The princess will be well looked after."

Kyle laughed and hugged Ranna, lifting her up while she kissed him silly. He walked out of the building and spoke to the nearest guard.

'In the morning, alert the tribe of the news that Ranna and I are getting married. Make sure the messenger has whatever he needs,let him eat and sleep if he wants. Make sure he leaves in the morning."

Kyle patted the guard, then walked back inside, still being kissed by Ranna.

Ranna pulled Kyle back into the bedroom and shut the door. Pulling Kyle back to bed they didn't get much if any sleep at all that night. Zach sat down against the door making sure no one bothered them.

Zach had a couple of books to return to the library. He figured reading them while Kyle and Ranna were celebrating their engagement would be a great idea. It was sunrise and he loved watching the sun break the horizon. There was something infinitely peaceful about it. He smiled and got up from the ground. He went to get the messenger and kick him out of the city. After that was done he stopped by the library. Initially he didn't see anyone else there. He realized he wasn't alone when he heard something on the other side of the library. It sounded like a quiet sneeze. Curious, he made his way silently towards the noise. He jumped around the corner and saw a young woman on a ladder putting books away. He startled her and she lost her balance. Zach jumped forwards and caught her before she would have hit the ground.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to scare you." Zach looked at her and smiled as he set her down on the ground. She was tiny. He felt almost like a giant in comparison. She was an entire foot shorter than he was. He immediately felt very protective of her. "What's your name? Are you the new librarian? If so I think Kyle will be totally relieved."

Niesha was calmly sorting books, putting them away, a little frustrated that some books appeared to be in the wrong sections. Occasionally dust rose as she moved them about, opening covers carefully, checking the conditions of the books, which caused her to sneeze.

She had assumed she was alone. So when she saw someone approaching from the corner of her eye, she was startled. Her balance on the ladder was compromised, and she fell. She resigned herself to pain as she went to catch herself with the shadows, but the man caught her instead. A little shocked, Niesha stepped back when he set her down.

"it's okay" she said softly, looking up at him briefly and feeling half a child compared to him. Niesha normally kept to herself, but she knew everyone in the tribe. This guy she was sure she hadn't seen much-but then she'd been hiding away in the library for a while, only sneaking out for food and water. "I'm Niesha. Um, well..." she looked around at all the books, and then back "I...didn't like seeing the books neglected. So I suppose I am"

Zach grinned. "Well that is great! Anything that makes things easier on Kyle makes it easier on me. Hey, Kyle and Ranna are going to get married today. Wanna go with me?" Zach hoped he didn't sound as desperate as he thought he might sound. He picked up a book and lifted his arm and put it back on the shelf correctly. "I've been here a couple of weeks and I really don't know anyone. I just kind of follow Ranna around and keep her out of too much trouble." He gave her a puppy dog look and said, "Please don't make me go alone."

As Zach talked, Niesha carefully picked up the books she had dropped, looking up at him in surprise. Go outside the library for something other than food? It was a strange request for Niesha, having practically lived there these last few weeks. Ranna? What had Kyle gotten himself into?

She was going to refuse. She could swear she was. But he just looked so...desperate and needy tha she found herself saying "oh. Um. Sure" go out with this gaint of a man? Of course anyone seemed gaint to Niesha. He seemed harmless...

"ah. But if you're going to take me out, I should at least know your name" she said, looking at the ladder, before moving slightly to the correct spot, beginning to climb it once more, books under one arm.

Zach

Zach smiled happily and introduced himself. "My name is Zach and it looks like I'll be staying here in the Obsidian Tribe permanently." She seemed very quiet and sweet he noticed and he handed books to her that went where she was at. He was tall enough to put them up himself but she was up there and seemed to really enjoy it. "I have to go and get the wedding set up. Is it ok if I come and get you when things are all set up?" He watched her and caught himself blushing a little. He looked down at one of the books so it would stop. After she agreed he left and went to the small church they had and told the religious man there that he would be performing a wedding in just a couple of hours. Some of the ladies were there and so were a couple of council members. The word spread quickly and Zach went to tell the engaged couple when they would be getting married.

He banged on the door til he heard Kyle yell. Grinning he covered his eyes and opened the door slightly so he could hear him. "Your wedding is set up for three hours from now at the church. The word is spreading like wildfire so get a move on." Ranna chuckled and Zach grinned like an idiot as he imagined whatever he thought was happening as he closed the door back.

Alexandra sighs and kisses Tokala passionately before saying " Next time you will try to hit me. I promise I will fight back , loverboy. You may even like how I fight with you *winks*. "Alex" comes out only after I use my power too much. When I blackout , she switches places with me and she may come out...only a part of her. It's hard to explain , when I teleport someone away from me without me teleporting with then. As I did with Ruyn ( Ryun ? ) on the pharmacy scavenge hunt. Remember ? I went berserk and jumped with my knife in the middle of Doom Lab pack before we met Ranna. " she gives him another kiss and looks him in his beautiful eyes waiting for him to reply.

Niesha was a little touched as Zach helped her put the books away. He could easily have put the books away himself, able to reach without the ladder, but he seemed to know she wanted to do it. She nodded in assent when he said he'd be back, and finished putting away and organise the books, before climbing down the ladder.

She looked down at herself. An old shirt, and pants, not exactly wedding material. She bit her lip, wondering why she was worrying about that. How long had she been wearing these clothes for? Perhaps she should change. Glancing over the library, she darted out and to her place. She changed into more appropriate clothes, or at least something a little less casual then shirts and pants, choosing a nice shirt and a skirt, before returning to the library. She settled at a table, with a book open and beginning to read it.

For Niesha, books were as important to her as food and water.

Tokala nodded and kissed her. He pulled away and tilted his head. "I do remember that...which is surprising considering I hit a force field face first" he huffed. Then he shrugged. "Now....we probably will have to attend that wedding Kyle is having but I think we have a few minutes before we would have to go" mischief appeared in his eyes and he looked at her. He was still holding her lightly on his chest.

"Think of anything you want to do?" he kissed her neck the did a light trail of kisses to her lips before pulling away to hear her response.

Ailsa Leisy

Ailsa sighed, wiping her chin with the back of her hand. Her nagging suspicions had pushed her to do an autopsy of Ruyn, but everything'd come out as expected. There wasn't another shred of information to suggest that anything other than a doom lab had got to the shapeshifter, and Ailsa was both relieved and disgusted with herself. She'd allowed her scientific side to get the better of her, succumbing to the urge to probe further into the corpse. A white sheet had been draped over the shapeshifter's face so that the doctor didn't have to look up to see Ruyn's ashen-grey face looking up at her blankly. The way he looked so peaceful, so content as she cut away at his body reminded her of what she was doing--what she'd done.

No more of this, Ailsa, she told herself as she pulled the drape over the body for the final time. No more pain and torture on your curiosity's behalf.

Ailsa signalled the guards to take the white-shrouded body to the morgue and be readied for his funeral. She was silent as they carried the shapeshifter away, eyes cast down at her feet in shame as she remembered making the same request for the body to be carried to the clinic so that she could "examine" it. Taking a deep breath, Ailsa quickly showered and changed into a new outfit, looking into the mirror and practicing her smile for the wedding.

C'mon, Ailsa. Smile. You can do this, she told herself, poking the edges of her mouth with trembling fingers. Just for the evening. Just until the stars come out and everybody retires to give the newlyweds some space.

Just until you can sleep and forget tonight.

Alexandra continues to kiss him and removes some of his clothing and then snaps out of it.

" Kyle is doing what ?! What wedding ? With who ? Don't tell me Ranna ? Oh my God. When did this happen ? When ?! " Alexandra shouted.
Remembering what someone from her past told her. Someone who she thought was just playing with her mind.

Somewhere in near the city

Hunter was fighting and winning a battle with a Powered Human that had the ability to make his skin impenetrable.

" Give up ! You can't harm me. You cannot harm A GOD ! That ability of yours is not suited for a mortal like you ! "

" I...will...never...give up. You son of a bitch ! " said the survivor spitting blood from her mouth and small drops of blood fall down from her ears too.

The survivor may make his skin impenetrable but his brain is very much penetrable by vibrations.
Hunter getting tired of fighting him suddenly waves his arms and a huge vibrational wave hits the survivor , destroying his brain but letting him alive long enough for Hunter to get his power.

Hunter approached the survivor that way on the ground and put a hand on his face. A green energy appeared from him into Hunter's hand. Hunter takes the energy to his mouth and consumes it. Suddenly his skin starts to glow a green tint and then it's over. As if nothing ever happened.

" Let's see how to use this power. " said Hunter talking to himself. Hunter concentrates a little and his skin turns immediately to a diamond-like skin ( reflecting light ).

Tokala kissed her as she removed some of his clothes. He then flinched when she yelled. Ears going back and he sighed. "Yes it's Ranna and I'm not entirely certain. I was more worried about you" his tail was frizzed from the sudden change in mood and he flicked his ears. She was still on top of him effectivly pinning him. Which was certainly unfair since most of his clothes were off but he didn't get to remove any of hers.

Very unfair circumstances.

Ranna jumped when Zach had knocked on the door and spoken to them. She also heard him chuckle as he let her know that some of the ladies were bringing her dresses to try. Ranna left Kyle' side and ran for the shower. "Kyle you have to leave so I can get ready." She heard him grumble and it made her grin. She poked her head out of the shower and kissed him since he had come into the bathroom.

After they were done Tokala kissed her forehead and inhaled slowly. Trying to calm down his sped up heart rate. He looked up at the ceiling, his finger ideally tracing randomness on Alexandra's arm. It was clear he was lost in thought. His eyes have that slight glaze that one gets when they are lost amongst their thoughts.

After awhile he spoke. "what were you talking about earlier?" he wasn't looking at her, but he was curious. Part of him worried that Alexandra was just with him to try to forget about Kyle. It was a stupid thought but it was there.

Alexandra was tired but she kiss Tokala again and said :

" It's something I heard after I thought I killed Hunter for the first time. Before I knew he could regenerate any injury. A guy I knew had this power where he "saw" the future. I can't understand it myself because he always talked in riddles and rhymes. He said something like this :

" A community will rejoice for it's leader will be soon wed. This will mark the beginning of a death and the birth of a new one. Someone will die and someone will be reborn. ".

I thought he was just nuts at first but well...he was right about the wedding , I just hope he wasn't right about the other part. Who knows who will die ? I don't anyone to die...not from this tribe. Especially not you *she kisses him* " with a sad smile on her face.

Ailsa Leisy

Ailsa wandered the streets of the city, hands stuck in her pockets. What to do for two hours? Hmm. Spotting the old library of the city, she decided to drop by. Maybe I can find something to take up my time, she thought, walking up the steps.

Pushing open the door, Ailsa let herself into the old building. Though dust and spiderwebs had gathered, the room had lost none of its appeal to Ailsa’s intellectual side. A small smile stretched across the doctor’s mouth as she walked towards the shelves, running her fingers over the worn spines of the books. I don’t even remember the last time I had a book to read, she thought sadly.

Her eyes stopped on a novel by T. H. White. Oh. I think I know this book, Ailsa thought, sliding the novel out from the shelf. The Once and Future King, the drab white-and-teal striped cover read. As she skimmed the words on the back cover, memories of tracing over the story of a boy who pulled a majestic sword from a stone flooded Ailsa’s mind—a boy so innocent, so full of hope and radiance that Ailsa’s heart bled for him by the time he’d accepted the crown.

Clutching the book at her side, Ailsa scanned the length of the room. She’d heard that there was a new librarian but hadn’t found the time to stop by and say hello. In fact she hadn’t really had any time so far, with all the cleaning up she’d had to do around the clinic. Mabel hadn’t really organized and recorded all the supplies the survivors had found, and she didn't offer help when Ailsa set about documenting all the bottles and pills. Ailsa didn't hold it against the other doctor, but sometimes she wished that Mabel could have been a little friendlier to her. She'd wanted a friend.

”Hello?” Ailsa asked the quiet, dusty room. ”Anyone in?”

Tokala tilted his head and raised a brow. "What a strange person." he shrugged and studied her. "If it was meant to happen it will. Usually when someone says a fortune it's best to go about your day. If it's to be it will happen if not it won't there's nothing you can do about it so stressing will only do more harm then good" he lightly kissed her before studying her again. His voice was softer. "The only thing I can promise you is I will fight for my life should it come to that"

He then held her closer, still gently, but closer. "I vote we stay here. I don't want to be around people....unless Kyle comes through and demands me to be there or something." he looked at her. "What do you say? Stay here away from people with just me or force me to go to it and we will both go?"
