The Curse of Mary Clarice is not a joke...

Mary Clarice was a bullied teen pushed to the edge. One day, her bullies took things too far, accidentally murdering the innocent girl. The manslaughter happened on school grounds. 5 years have passed since the incident and rumors have been thrown around. Nothing has been proven or debunked...until a small group of teens decides to investigate once and for all.

Ever since the murder, Black Cross Preparatory School hasn't been the same. Students going missing, apparitions in halls, voices heard when alone. Some believe and some don't. Teachers and faculty are playing it off as if it's some big, elaborate prank. However, there are a few teachers that do believe. None are brave enough to do any research, except for the group of teens. They even have a club for said research, only getting laughed at and ridiculed by not only students but teachers. However, nothing will stop this group from seeking answers.

Bernadette has a very strong voice, she is not one to be soft spoken or gentle in her tone. Most find this rather annoying, but some find her to be lively. She doesn't have any tattoos yet, but plans to get some in the future when she is older. Her ears are pierced once on each side of her ear lobes. She has no prominent scars, but does have various bruises and dings from rough housing with her brothers and just everyday wear and tear.

Despite having a very old fashioned name, Bernadette is one of the most forward thinking and adventurous people there are. She is always willing to try something new, no matter the consequences it may hold. This tends to scare a lot of people off and away from her life. Though she isn't afraid to walk up to a stranger and start having a conversation, most people in the small town would rather keep to themselves. One could guess because her father is a car salesman that there is where she received her outspoken and overwhelming ability to speak to people with ease. Bernie also tends to take on too many projects or ideas at once, making her an unreliable friend in the sense of she might make several plans at once and only follow through with one of them. Howoever when she finally is around you she will give you all her attention and more.

● Biography:

Bernadette was named after her grandmother on her mother's side. She is the youngest child and only daughter to David and Nicole Blackwell. The Blackwell family has lived in the area for as long as anyone could remember, going from simple farmers to various workers as years went by. David currently is a car salesman and is the only bread winner for the family at the moment. Bernadette had always been a rambunctious child, she wanted to keep up with whatever her older brothers were doing and whatever the other kids were doing on the block she had to be apart of it some how and some way. She never wanted to feel left out of anything.

School for the most part at Black Cross Preparatory School comes easily for her, despite her goofy and "leap before looking" personality she has never been considered a stupid person and is usually an average B student. She doesn't try too hard as her mind is usually wandering to other things instead of studying or doing homework. She would apply to do more after school clubs and activities but her unreliability to attend the scheduled meetings make it so most clubs don't want anything to do with her unless it's a one day event type of thing, even then they can't hold their breath. It was a big surprise when she decided to join the group to solve the case.

Joshua Arthur Dela Luna

Name: Joshua Arthur Dela Luna; Nicknames: Josh, Art, Artie (does not prefer this one)

Age: 18

Appearance: Joshua is around the average height of 5'7" and weighs around 149 lbs. He has natural dark brown hair that is usually swept to the right. There are times where it is held down by gel/wax but he rarely does it. He has matching dark brown eyes, a trait shared by most of his countrymen. He has a lean body type and is lighter on his feet than most people. He's usually seen wearing a black jacket and varying shirts and pants (cargo pants when he feels like it) and then matches it with rubber shoes or sneakers.

Personality: Joshua is the kind of person who can be friends with everyone. He doesn’t easily shy away from people and can maintain a conversation for more than just introductory words. He has a jovial personality, often seen with a smile or a grin on his face. However, he does know when to stop and be serious… but those are in very rare times. He's a ball of pure energy, never seeming to run out. There's a running rumor that he keeps multiple canned coffee in his bag to drink. Whether or not this rumor is true is still not known.

However, he is a secretive person. He keeps problems to himself and he never really told anyone the reason why he had joined the club, just like how he doesn't explain most of his odd actions to others except when he's in the club. There are a lot of things about his past that he hasn't told anyone else about. Why this is, no one really knows. Lying comes very naturally to him. He also has a habit of jokingly stealing from others and giving it back to them later on. However, he is scarily really good at it.

Skill: He's very good with his hands, from stitching to lockpicking to pickpocketing, he's surprisingly good at them. He’s usually the guy who collects information from people and reports it back to the club.

Backstory: Joshua is born under two mid-class people. However, from the start, it wasn’t going to work. His parents weren’t actually married and he was left with his father. His father wasn’t a really good person, far from it really. His father was a thief, natural in his profession. Josh, not knowing any better, followed his father blindly and did his orders. It’s why he is such a natural at lying and stealing. He does go to school though, oddly enough, and he made a close friend who goes by the name of Juliet. He continued to do a lot of his father’s work until he reached the fifth grade. It is not because he learned it was wrong; it was because his father died.

With no one to take care of him, he was bound to be sent to an orphanage. Thankfully, Juliet’s family welcomed him wholeheartedly, even with his history with thievery. Their family moved to another place and placed both Juliet and Joshua in Black Cross Preparatory School for highschool. It had only been a year since the murder Mary Clarice. He was well aware of it but did nothing about it really. A year passed and, despite everything he’s seen and heard, he never really cared about the curse. That was, until Juliet disappeared in school mysteriously. An investigation was called but yielded no results. Rumor was spread that it was because of the curse. Determined to find the real reason, Joshua joined the club. He can easily say that he is actually enjoying his time there but he still hasn’t lost sight of his goal.

Full Name: Emerson Renae Striker
Nicknames: Em or Emy

Age: 17

Appearance: Emerson is a long haired, redhead with freckled very lightly dusted around her nose and cheeks and hazel eyes. Her hair is usually down and messy but she does like to put it up in high ponytails. Emerson stands at 5’6” and weighs about 116 pounds, with a thin and small but athletic build that gives her speed. Em prefers jeans and loose fitting shirts over a tank top and her Joker Converse. Most of the times she wears a zip-up hoodie as well.


Personality: Emerson has a wild spirit that is nearly impossible to break. She is a very curious, energetic ball of pure energy. Some may call her hyper but she can be very calm, mellow, and level-headed as well. Being calm and patient in most situations, she stays focused and aware not making snap judgements right away. She is very adventurous and if given the chance she loves to try new things. Emerson tries to avoid making enemies, befriending most everyone she meets and enjoying the company of others, but sometimes her sarcasm gets in the way and she gets herself in a heap of trouble.

She is very passionate, sometimes in a fiery way, and loving. Em does come across in a flirty way, but she is also respectful and minds boundaries. Em is extremely polite and soft spoken and doesn't care much for rude, obnoxious, or distasteful people. Although kindhearted and sweet, she can be cold or stern when she needs to be, but prefers not to be. Her nature is often useful when breaking up an argument or settling a dispute, as well as making her a great negotiator. Her communication skills make her trustworthy and a faithful friend, however she can be secretive and lie if she needs to.

Backstory: Emerson was brought up in a low-middle class family by her parents Adam and Lilith Striker. To most people’s surprise the two weren’t actually married even though they had been together so long and had two children together. They acted and fought like a married couple, causing Em to hide up in the attic sometimes to get away from the yelling. Her older brother, Dani, was always there with her when she was younger to keep her company. Growing up she always wanted to be like him, a lazy goofball that was always a joy to be around. He lightened any mood with his goofy fun personality.

Throughout school Em gravitated toward the “weird” people. She had a passion for art and special effects in movies so it became her hobby. Tirelessly working on her own special effects make ups and trying to imitate those of movies, she became really good at it. Sometimes she would help her brother get back at her bullies with the help of her talent. When high school came around for Emerson, she had become an even bigger target for bullying and pranks. When she heard about Mary Clarice she instantly began to look into it. Em herself had heard things while she was in the art classroom afterschool. As she grew more aware of the rumors and stories she joined the club to do further research and help prove or disprove what she could.

Zoe, who is of Jamaican heritage, was born on January 1st as the third and final daughter of two upper-middle class parents Clarice and Terrance. The Campbell household consisted of Zoe, her parents, her two older sisters, and their pet dog. They lived in a moderate sized, two bedroom apartment in Atlanta; Zoe having had to share a bedroom with her sisters until they went off to college. Zoe's parents, by nature, were very strict. From early childhood they urged their children to excel academically and athletically, also encouraging them to be discerning in regards to the company they keep. Although her parents were very stern, there was also another side to them. They were fun loving and very involved in all phases of their children’s lives.

However, when Zoe was thirteen years old, her parents were killed in a car accident. As a result, Zoe had to move out of Atlanta and into the home of her Aunt and Uncle. They continued to raise her as if she were their own, pushing her to strive academically and, much to Zoe's dismay, athletically. She was expected to do chores, such as; making her bed, setting the dinner table, making a beverage for dinner or washing the dinner plates. During the week when school was in session she was not allowed to watch television or cavort around town. As a rule, her Aunt and Uncle did not condone her idly “hanging-out”. They'd made her participate in many sports including basketball, volleyball, and tennis before she finally convinced them to let her focus solely on her schoolwork instead. In result, she managed to maintain an A average. As she got older, she was allowed more freedom; she could go out on school nights as long as she was back by 10 PM, and she was allowed a few (concealable) tattoos and piercings.

<sub>Brody is probably one of the biggest nerds you could ever meet in Black Cross Preparatory School. He can be considered insensitive and cynical to a lot of people as well, probably one of the reasons he's not liked by many. Even though Brody doesn't show off much about it, he's actually a computer genius, but most people just see him as a geek. Probably because he actually thinks that it's possibly that the Clarice Curse is not just a myth.

Brody is basically a huge time wisecracker as well. He likes to makes jokes, even in sometimes dark moments to lighten the mood. It can be annoying and yet have a little bit of charm to it at times.

Brody doesn't like to be emotional about things, it's kind of awkward for him to make friends that are outside the club he's in. He likes to do deep research into things that seem supernatural, especially around Black Cross. He spends most of his time reading something, or on his computer. Sometimes even watches TV when he's that bored. Brody could be considered an outcast by many people, but he doesn't really care about that.</sub>

Spencer stands at 6'1", weighs 175 lbs, and has an average build; he isn't skinny but isn't too heavy either. He has dark, brown hair, styling it in two different ways, regular with his bangs to the left or gelled for a fauxhawk, though this is not too common anymore. Spencer has large, light brown eyes, a feature he doesn't like too much no matter how many times he's complimented. Spencer is a hardcore believer in ghosts, hauntings, possessions, poltergeists, and anything relating to the supernatural. Ever since a young boy, he'd been into ghost hunting and looking for explanations for all things paranormal. Aside from all of this, Spencer is a pretty nice guy. He tries to be as respectful as possible, especially with his friends. He's fun to be around, always bringing positive vibes to his friends. He can be very serious when it comes to his ghost and technology projects, though.

Born to a single mother of three, Spencer has always been the smartest in his family. Being the middle child, he took interest in solitary activities as his older brother, Charles, took up and interest in football and his younger brother, Brandon, was way too young to be interested in Spencer's favorite things. At first, Spencer wanted to be like his big brother and play football. After trying out for the junior league team in middle school, he was an average player. He didn't play too much and when he did, he didn't get much action. One game, he was tackled hard and tore his ACL, forcing him to hang up the cleats and give up the sport. During his recovery period, he watched a lot of television. He began to get bored of watching the same sitcoms and cartoons, so he browsed through the numerous channels available. He saw a documentary on ghosts and instantly fell in love, wanting to find out more about the paranormal.

In the summer leading to his freshman year of high school, Spencer got into technology. His mother brought home a voice recorder from a garage sale, a novelty she used to remind herself of what she needed to get done. Spencer played with it and would record his research about ghosts and the paranormal. That summer, the three boys had to stay at their grandmother's house as their mother had to go on a business trip for a couple weeks. Spencer brought the recording device, wanting to try and "ghost hunt". After learning the history of the property, Spencer discovered it used to belong to a woman who was murdered back in the 1850s. Curious and somewhat in disbelief, Spencer went into the basement late at night to see if he could find anything interesting. He remembered a trick about the recording device, learning that ghosts could use it to speak if they pleased. So, Spencer did just that and turned it on. What he found scared him. He played the audio back and heard what could be deciphered as a cry for help before a shriek was heard after a long silence. Spencer stopped his ghost adventures at first, but secretly enjoyed the thrill of it.

Throughout high school, Spencer tinkered with technology, especially anything that would help him document the paranormal. He'd go out to supposedly haunted places to find evidence of such claims. When Spencer heard that Mary Clarice was haunting the school, he knew it was his job to get to the bottom of it. Now in his senior year of high school, he plans to put a rest to the rumors of Mary Clarice haunting the school. Though he's been stopped time and time again by teacher and staff, he still pushes to find evidence. He's even had the club be on the verge of being shut down before he promised not to try and solve the mystery of the school haunting. Spencer now plans on investigating the school with his club now in secrecy.

And then my character's there to find his missing friend and might or might not punch the ghost if it was real, whether he can hit it or not.
