The Story.
A game known as Kingdoms of the Sky Online has been launched, the world's first Virtual Reality game. The Company that has released this amazing adventure announces exactly one week from the launch date they will hold an amazing in game event, either this information pushes you over and you decide to purchase the game or simply you had already planned to and finally saved up. For whatever reason you entered the game, you did so on March 1st 2017 the day of the event. At the time the event was supposed to begin, players wait patiently for an announcement that never comes. Confusion begins to set in when players realize the log out function has been disabled. The following message was sent to every inbox.

"Greetings player, welcome to the fantastic world of Kingdoms of the Sky Online! We thank you for your purchase and want to inform you that your contribution will not be in vein, you have been entered in the most amazing event to ever occur in human history! Kingdoms of the Sky Online is now your new world, we hope you enjoyed your time in the game so far because you will now be of permanent residence! As most of you have probably discovered the log out function has been disabled, don't worry about your real life body its existence is pointless now since you are here. A few changes have been made following this glorious event, you will find the respawn function is also disabled. Death in game means death in real life, monster AI has been increased and a new real-pain indicating system has been introduced allowing you to experience the world in a more realistic way, isn't that exciting!? Again we thank you for joining us on this new adventure and once more, welcome to Kingdoms of the Sky Online!" The Roleplay will begin exactly two days after this message was sent.

The Guide to 'Leveling' Up.

Within Kingdom of the Skies Online, a player will have no indication on any form of what we know as 'stats', rather everyone starts at a neutral point. At the start of your game, every action you take will reflect upon your character. The game's highly advanced AI nicknamed "Gaia" will be constantly micro-managing everyone's ratios. Players will experience a highly natural growth rate of skill that reflects upon experience. As you progress deeper in the game, your jobs and classes will open up and allow you more skillsets, items, gear, etc.

Upon beginning the game, the player will answer a short series of questions that will end with them receiving a specialized set of equipment tailor-made for their personality and style. To advance in the game and evolve your character, one must show actual attempt to progress including participating in guild skirmishes, boss raids and party quests. In order to progress to the next tier in your class what is known as a "Progressive Feat" is required, which includes but is not limited to: completing an epic quest, defeating a legendary monster or reaching a milestone in power forcing you to advance. Upon this "level up" a character's entity is open to change, some may simply acquire a new specific item (ie new tome for mages.) while others could acquire an entirely new look displaying their clearly more advanced capabilities.

General Guidelines & Expectations

  • Characters are expected to be limited in their own right by the person who made them, none of us wants someone who solves every situation.

  • Moderate length posts are what we're aiming for, something around 2-5 paragraphs per post, please no one liners or any other silly things.

  • A Mature level of writing, there will be blood, slight gore, cussing and intense themes. Sexual natures are forbidden and if you want to do that, I suggest going somewhere else.

  • Your word is just as important as anyone's, speak up if you think someone's character is too powerful or you disagree with a way something should go, but in the end majority rules and I will decide any possible tie-breakers and handle disputes.

  • Keep the arguing out of here and things down to a discussion, no insulting or hostility, lets all be friends and do this for fun. If you begin causing problems you will be asked to leave.

  • All other Roleplay rules are expected, please lets make this enjoyable!

  • ANY QUESTIONS/DISCREPANCIES/CONCERNS PLEASE PM ME PRIVATELY.

    My Character Sheet:
    Character Name: Breljorn Sunfray
    Real Name: Andrew Mullock
    Real Age: 16
Appearance and Personality: Medium length blue hair stretched down from his head, covering his forehead and ears, but not touching his shoulders. Dark blue eyes, slim eyebrows, short pointy nose and a quite small mouth, really. Average height of a normal teenage boy. One little face feature made him different from everyone else - a scar. A scar on the left side of his jaw. It came from the real world into the game, and as well as in real world, he doesn't like it shown, so a bandanna usually covers all the way up to his nose. At this point - it's a black linen bandanna. Tied in a knot under his hair behind his neck, it perfectly covers the scar and his face, as well as putting him in character for his class. He wasn't a Kleptomaniac in real life though. He was just a normal teenage boy striving to achieve greatness. But in every game he'd play, he would come out as a rogue silently killing people, if possible. This time, he decided to become something different, so he assigned this personality to himself.

Class: Kleptomaniac(Archtype: Rogue) - A character driven by the soul urge of disobeying law and order. The lust to steal from people overflows his body, and he has to steal, otherwise he goes insane. It's like drugs. Focusing on stealth, swiftness, agility and precision, a Kleptomaniac is a skilled artist in the way of the thieves, but lack defensive attributes, making him quite an easy kill if caught off guard.
    Professions:
Mad Alchemist - Has the knowledge of poison brewing. It comes extremely handy when needed to kill someone silently. without any blood.
Herbalist - Has the knowledge of all the poisonous and deadly plants around the world.

    Skill List:

    Equipment List:
    Small Bronze Dagger

    Leather Vest

    [Stolen] Leather Leggings

    x2 Healing Potions
x? Gold (Assigned amount when currency is actually a thing, if it will be needed at all)

    [Stolen] x2 healing potions

    Character Name: Sebastian Castle
    Real Name: Will Brooks
    Real Age: 16
Appearance: Sebastian stands somewhat shorter than most other players with an oddly lanky body making him appear extremely small. With his sandy blonde hair always in a disheveled state and his emerald green eyes always twinkling with a glint of happiness, Sebastian appears to enjoy this game world more often than others.

Class: Blade Warden - A striking-based class that shows a blooming ability to lead others. A Warden's true power is based around their Charisma and party size, gaining various perks the more members they hold within their party. A Blade Warden specializes in the use of multiple blades, yet not always at the same time allowing their skills to be focused on stances which give rise to different battle styles keeping enemies from learning how to handle a Blade Warden.
    Job(s):
Dungeoneer - Sebastian has acquired advanced knowledge of dungeons, giving him the ability to know information on a dungeon before he even enters it.
Diplomat - With his Charisma-based class, Sebastian took the Diplomat job allowing him to have advanced influence within the NPC world.
    Skill List:
    Active

    Passive

Equipment List: (1x) Rapier, (1x) Longsword, Basic leather armor, Metal head band along with 5,000 Gold pieces. Along with a small cache of beginner health and mana potions.

Aha, I see your point. And I will look into that, since I've been planning to completely change it. I got a very good idea for a character I'd like to try playing, since no MMO games ever give me the opporitunity to. I'll see what I can do.

    Hooray, a friend, ^^

I've edited my character sheet, hopefully it fits the requirements now. I tried to make it as advancement-friendly as possible. I was thinking of making transformations change with skill upgrades. For example now my character transforms into a Fox with the transform skill, and when I upgrade it, I was thinking of either adding a new transformation, which would be Wolf next, or switching it from Fox to Wolf, so I couldn't use Fox anymore. And I tried making my passive as fair as I could haha. By the way, does technology exist in this game? (Steampunk or whatever?)

I was getting the diesel-punk vibe from it. But that was just my take.

    Character Name: Colleen Breckenridge
Real Name: Ida Lynn (Ida-Lynn) Riendel
    Real Age: 17
Appearance: Colleen has short, dark brown hair that just brushes her shoulders. It curls upwards at the ends. She has very lightly tanned skin with upswept pointed ears and soft, large hazel eyes. She's on the slender side, and is rather lithe. She does have some muscle on her, but enough fat to soften out any sharp lines. Her face is gentle and she has a naturally small smile. Her build is on the long-legged side, and is nearly lanky as well.

Class: Mage/Magic user. A person that's capable of using magic. Lower defense, but can gain powerful attacks by learning spells. They use mana as their source of power.

    Jobs:

Healer- Capable of treating and repairing wounds, therefore restoring HP to herself or another.

Scribe- A documenter. Scribes are very book-smart, giving them higher intellect and often an assortment of useful knowledge.

Seamstress- A maker of clothing. Has a knowledge of different kinds of fabrics, and has the knowledge of which fabric is best for what situation, such as cold, heat, or possible battle conditions. Capable of creating clothing, if the needed supplies are present.

    Skill List:
    Active

    Passive

    Equipment List:

    Magic Skill (Basic)
    Robes (Basic)
    Mana potions x2 (Average)

(I hope this is good enough. I tried to balance everything pretty well, especially the Last Resort thing. Because it really is a last resort and an hour can be forever in game, especially in battles.)

Different races as in completely non-humanoid with special traits than probably not I think but I don't mind if your avatar appears less human than others might (maybe slightly elven looking with pointy ears and such?) You have to imagine you had the chance to completely customize your avatar so under the appearance you could jot down some extremely notable traits or something?

So far the CS look good guys, I don't wanna start accepting and such yet until maybe more people get involved/we work out the possible kinks that are obviously coming to light such as currency and stuff.

I'm currently still trying to think of the character I'm gonna make so that's a thing, a few things I just wanna say. Blue I like your character, I wouldn't mind if since you're holy you added something like additional holy damage from basic attacks against demonic, chaotic or undead beings. Wraith, does your passive activate on its own after a certain point where your health dips down? Brel are you going for a bandit/thief type class?

Edit: Oh! And for era of technology I would consider it a big mixture of all kinds since each area/kingdom is going to be different in their own way they may have different fuel sources. While most would use fossil fuels to power things, using combustion-based engines. I do plan on having a magical city where they use some sort of powered energy crystal source or some type of pure arcane magic as fuel. This world will be evolving before our eyes as we explore it, so don't really think things like "hmm I don't know if this piece of equipment would fit in this era." The only things I would completely not want is like atomic weapons, R2-D2 and laser beam stuff.

Me, yeah, I'm going for a bandit/thief type of character, and hopefully there will be a way to, like, make it a reality. For example, stealing from NPC's and stuff. But stealing and raiding would be things that wouldn't get too op. I mean, using the skills to finish a quest in a unique way. Let's say you need to get an item from an NPC, and you can either kill them, talk them into giving the item, or with my case, steal it. And of course, it would be fun if I could use it as an everyday thing. I don't really care if it even yields anything of value, as long as I can steal SOMETHING via RP. Like a trophy or something.

Hey if PVP is allowed in the towns why can't a guy steal some shizwah? Walk around and pickpocket players from time to time, could be used to introduce plots and such. All assets are welcomed.

Also do you guys think I should add a like subclass/job part to the CS? For things like crafting, smithing, etc so you can say what you're gonna specialize in? I guess I should just ask, anything you think the CS lacks?

    Character Name:
    Travis Ironhide

    Real Name:
    Paul Harris

    Real Age:
    Twenty-four

    Class:
    Swordsman – Mercenary
The Mercenary subclass focuses less on damage output, and more on generating agro to keep advisories focused. It is able to take a beating, and with proper healing it is a natural at tanking large groups of enemies simultaneously. The Mercenary is more party oriented, and relies on gear and battlecries to bolster defense.

I know what the CS lacks. At least that's what I felt missing. A Title/Class type of section. Like, for example at my CS, I would input Thief/Bandit/Assassin or something, and explain a little how it's going to develop. Like, what I aim for. Which at my CS would be "Thief - A silent character that specializes in stealth and agility in combat and out of it."

And about the job/subclas... In my opinion you could add a job for each person or two, because if a person would like to have a unique type of weapon, they could craft it or something. But this is just an idea for you to consider haha. ^^

    Additional question:
Can I add more to the CS, like stuff about his God and whatnot?

Go for it, I also just added a few things to the CS. I'm going to start working on the Kingdoms themselves and what they have to offer. Also if anyone has guild names for our guild I'm still open. Otherwise we'll have to settle for one of my uncreative names.
