Captain Milos Kečik

Character Name: Milos Kechik (Kečik in his native Croatian)
Age: 42
Homeworld: Titan, Jupiter, Sol System
Position onboard the Voidhawk: Captain
Appearance: Milos His left arm is semi-robotic
Strengths:
Leader: Milos is a strong leader, and will stand up for his people at all costs
Intelligent: Captain Kechik is quick on his feet and capable of solving most problems, given the time.
Curious: The Captain is possessed of a boundless, almost childlike curiosity of the universe and reality.
Level-Headed: Milos is very even-keeled and fair, rarely getting over-excited or angry.
Weaknesses:
Unemotive: Milos' long service record and number of men he's served for or over has dampened his outward zeal, and he often doesn't express himself very well
Battle-Scarred: His service with the Collective Fleet in the Second Pelaan War has left him somewhat traumatized and aloof at times, especially at night.
Daring: Captain Kechik is often overly daring and takes bids riskier than are necessary to accomplish his goals. While he always takes the blame for his decisions, some might question their being made in the first place.
Bio: Milos was born on Earth, something that had once been a blessing, that was now a curse. Most of Earth was dead or dying from the centuries of pollution puffed out by the industrial age. Born in the old state of Croatia, Milos' family fled to Titan soon after Milos' birth, and he is registered as having Titan as his homeworld, since he arrived before he was 6 months old. Milos spent the rest of his youth on Titan, fascinated with the Stars and the worlds beyond.

On his seventeenth birthday, Milos immediatley went and signed up with the Collective Fleet Academy, a program that would take four grueling years but eventually land him a position as pilot of his own combat craft. Assigned to the 6th Luhman Squadron, he spent several more years patrolling the Luhman system. Which is exactly where he was when the Second Pelaan War broke out in 2296. The Pelaan were a race of agressive spider-creatures, intent on forcing the Human Race out of Luhman for themselves. Milos fought the war to its conclusion in 2299, but not without losing most of his left arm in battle. It was replaced with a bionic one, that appears mostly natural, except at the elbow, where time has exposed the metal.

Following the war, Milos left the Fleet and became a freighter, piloting old freight ships around the collective and making simple money. Most of it goes home to his aging father on Titan. Milos was approached by the Farseers Guild during a stop on Thalon, and they explained their latest venture to him. He hesitantly agreed, tired of his merchant job, and urged on by that part of him that had engulfed him as a boy, the desire to explore.

Why does your Character want to venture with the Voidhawk?: The Farseers Guild approached him, after what he assumed must've been extensive research. He accepted to fulfill his childhood curiosities, and the opportunity to pilot a brand new ship.

Character Name: Shelli "Shell" Bovle
Age: 29
Homeworld: Proxima B, Alpha Centauri system
Position onboard the Voidhawk: Protector
Appearance: A slender, strong-framed woman of Asian descent, (her ancestors can be traced back to South Korea). She has a thick jaw-line, a large, broad nose and small, thin brown eyes that match her olive skin color. Her tied-up ponytail is a jet-black, matching her line eyebrows that naturally slope downwards towards her the center of her face. She's tall and long limbed. Her torso, shoulders, and thighs are covered in colorful tattoos, but it's all hidden by her apparel. She also has a small nose piercing in her right nostril as well as one in her navel to complete her almost tribal look.
Strengths:
Steady: Shelli doesn't panic under stress.
Determined:Following orders is a specialty of hers, and those she serves under don't need to worry about her not following through.
Skilled: Shelli is good at what she does.
Situational Awareness: Being aware of her surroundings is a necessity when it comes to Protector work, and she is. It's harder than normal to get the complete jump on Shelli.

Weaknesses:
Unquestioning: Shelli does what she's told, even if it isn't the right call.
"Tough": In order to appear strong and capable, Shelli often adopts a mean, self-serving persona.
Unenlightened: She has a very limited skill-set outside of combat related situations.
Aggressive: Merciful and Sparing are not words that can be applied to Shelli. Even when the victory is clearly hers, Shelli has problems knowing when to stop.

Bio:
Born into a agricultural family on a colony in the Alpha Centauri system, the places where Shelli grew up and went to school were riddled in crime. Her parents and younger sister were stolen from and put into danger by punks and low-lives frequently, and her sister was bullied in school. Shelli could stand up for herself, but some weren't so fortunate to have be naturally good at smashing people with their fists. After a series of run-in's with crime, at the age of eighteen Shelli decided to join the underfunded and uncaring police force of her colony.

It was tough work, almost single handedly reforming a lax and corrupt police force, but as time went on her colleagues began to listen to what she was saying. More officers were recruited, more training was done, and crime began to drop. Unfortunately, Shelli wasn't fit for her own reforms. Her...unorthodox methods for dealing with criminals when unchecked got her into trouble, along with her torso being covered in tattoos with obscure and strange meanings known only to her, she was ironically kicked off the force after a decade of service.

She herself realized that she wasn't cut out for law work, but she was still skilled in combat and the protection of others. So, she became a mercenary, or a free lancer for a while. She made a name for herself of being reliable and relatively low cost. Not only that, but she leaned towards the legal side as well, which meant people who were more reluctant to hire rough-n-tumble mercs had smaller reservations hiring her. She did a few bodyguard contracts, and has had to put a bullet into more than one living thing before and has no reservations about doing it some more.

Why does your Character want to venture with the Voidhawk?: Not many other mercenaries and bodyguards were interested in the nature of the cosmos, and fewer still wanted to be hired by a bunch of "space hippies" or something. But when the Farseer's Guild put out their call to arms, she had no reservations of signing up. It was clean work, and she needed a break from sleazy alleyways and sketchy silhouettes.

York Bishop

Character Name: Dr. York "Yorks" Bishop

Age: 25

Homeworld: Asteroid B612

Position onboard the Voidhawk: Biochemical Engineer

Appearance: Fairly average as far as humans go. It is impossible to tell where exactly she came from on Earth as her family wasn't the type that kept track overly well. She has a fairly pale completion from lack of natural light and the UV ray replacement was not wasted on things such as 'tanning'. She has short curly brown hair, pulled back in a headband...or a pair of goggles...or electrical tape a time or two. Her eyes are dark brown, nearly black, giving her a surpised 'doe like' look when not expressing strong emotion.

Strengths:
Highly Intelligent A mixture of natural born intellect, a desperation to not end up like her parents and little else to spend her time on, lead York to get three doctorates by the time she was 25. The first one was in biology, then chemistry and finally applied astromechanics.

High Motivation York can get a on a one track mindset and will attack a problem with everything she has.

Highly Open to the Possibilities York is always open to impossible ideas until she can either prove or disprove them herself, no matter how farfetched they might be.

Weaknesses:
Doesn't always follow Orders York will always follow her interests, despite what her orders might be. She doesn't go into something planning to be insubordinate. It is just a byproduct.

Does Things 'For the Science' There was an ancient story of a inventor who created a screaming robot. When asked why, he had no answer. It is highly theorized that she is a decedent of this man.

Bio:
York grew up where there was no life. Nothing grew wild, nothing existed just to be alive. Everything had a purpose, everything had a use.

York was born on the Asteroid Colony B612. It was a brown place, where everyone typically lived in the pressurized caves of deep below the surface. It was used primarily as a refueling and supply outpost for the government and other travelers. Despite it being an area of high traffic and high profit, most of the people who lived there did so simply. There was not much space for luxurious such as pets or flowers or any non-edible plants. Even though they did grow some food, most of what they ate was imported and dehydrated with fresh fruits and vegetables being a luxury.

Children who were born on the asteroid were born to become future workers bees. School started at 2 1/2 and, without the traditional harvest season culture, went all year round, six days a week, with the seventh being used to instill community service. It wasn't that bad because there wasn't anything else to do. Outside of the 'school' the astroid set aside zero space for children. 'Houses' were non-lit coves that were used only for sleeping. There was no communal 'family areas' outside of the rec and feeding areas.

Everyone knew that there were other ways of living out there, but most never wanted to leave. The food wasn't great on the asteroid, but nobody was hungry. The was little exposure to the outside world, so very few illnesses and all ailments were treated in a quick and efficient manor. Education was highly valued and most people had doctorates in at least one field. Everyone was equal, everyone got their fair share. There was no crime as there was no privacy. It was safe and it was also what everyone really knew.

York wasn't particularly odd, with little else to occupy their time, most children dedicated their time to study and mental exploration. What did make York stand out a little more, was her obsession with life. Earth held most of her attention and its abundance of trees and animals. It broke her heart to hear that the wonderful world depicted in her book was a dead and ugly as the home she lived in now.

Although York obsessed with a world filled with life, she never considered moving. Figuring that if she left, she'd only find disappointment once she saw it. But when the call came out for people to join the Voidhawk, she tossed her application in, figuring there was no way she'd be selected. Yet she was. She left knowing she could always come home if she hated it.

Why does your Character want to venture with the Voidhawk?: If you asked her, she wants to find a whale.
