Fatal Souls – The Silly Spam Game Version

“In truth, it was all but a matter of time. Even the most cynical of ours surely did not expect what was to come upon us all as our realm fell into disarray and madness whilst greed, ambition, hunger, and pride would lead us all into the darkest hell.”

Inspired by my friends game, Thrive: What has science done?!, I sort of wanted to do a sort of fun game that can be silly and fun inbetween when I am working on actual RP nonsense. It’s sort of grounded, but you know how it goes. The nature of this game is to be the most fly-by-night feudalism simulator with stupid forays into RISK. But let me roughly explain; trust me, I’ll be brief.

And finally:

The Current State of the World
Yes, it is a rotated Europe, lol.

State of the World

House Balkr
The first King of the northern tribes to settle in the region, King Havardr I Balkr, held a reign of reorganizing and reinforcing his military structure, completely doing away with archaic notions of loose organization under war chiefs the development of rudimentary designations and ranks led to one of the first organized feudal armies in the known world. Additionally, his reign continued to develop beyond this and expanded into a neighboring lands— the new ranks showing more successful than his rivals than ever before. The effects of his reign have intimidated neighboring petty lords and tribal chieftains.

House Caine
The first King of the people near the expansive desert in the far south of the region, King Artur I Caine, witnessed a reign of religious significance as surviving the perils of the desert in the years past created a comfort within the gods. A religious sect has rooted itself within the capital and has begun influencing the civilization that has begun to grow. By the end of this reign, said faith had transformed into a rudimentary religious organization and the first organized scripture and laws of worship became cohesive beyond the worship of totems in years past.

House Krowe
The first King of the hinterlands lords to expand in the region, King Henrik I Krowe, has had a successful surge on his central island where he staked his claim. Not only has his people embraced new developments into wharfing and fishing, his reign also developed agricultural sciences and innovations that his neighboring cousins lacked the ability to do so by developing new forms of ploughs as well as the invention of the contemporary windmill. New discoveries in the forms of crops such as the pear have been made alongside new technological developments have been made to make labor easier as well. It will take many years to come to see the impact this has on the economy of the region, but it is likely to be a positive one.

House Thralon
The first King of the midlands lords to expand in the region, King Alaric I Thralon, experienced a bountiful reign with no particular advancements. A spike in population ignited by a lack of disease, plague, and war was viewed by the smallfolk as a blessing of the gods and as such have begun worshiping a fertility god as a result. Local populations have created a bustling capital despite King Alaric’s reign lacking any significant economic advancements. Neighboring smallfolk have begun entering the territory as well with the centralization of House Thralon’s capital holding.

State of the World

House Balkr

King Havardr’s successor, King Ulfrik I Balkr, decided to oppose overly militaristic focus in favor of deepening the economy to support future campaigns. Whilst the shores of his homeland held harsh winters it made the summer and fall harvests all the more imperative. Longships have been converted to fishing vessels in time of peace, winter wheat has become the focus of agricultural production, and the production of simple metals has increased tenfold of his predecessor thus strengthening the region.

House Caine

King Artur’s successor, King Parric I Caine, held a reign that signified growth of his people’s culture and as a result has promoted a more artistic, content, and innovative civilization. Several innovations in the fields of art bled into religious thought, philosophical ideologies, and scientific innovations. The son of a merchant by the name of Ydrin has submitted various “patents” to the monarchy in hopes of royal investment— a hope that developed into a guild of sorts in the capital of Oiseau that by the time of Parric’s death had been declared a noble university. What this will do for the realm in the near future can only be pondered.

House Krowe

King Henrik’s successor, King Eirian I Krowe, was utterly ruthless in his ambitions and the expansion of his holdings as evident by several petty wars with neighboring territories as well as the centralization of trade in The Hinterlands. He promoted economic depth to fund his wars and elevated several merchant family’s to lesser nobility as he gave them new lands in exchange for financial support in what was to come. The most powerful of these houses, House Kathaim, has become involved with the efforts of House Krowe. By the end of King Eirian’s reign he had conquered several islands as well as pushed into the mainland of the Hinterlands, utterly decimating the lord who held the lands with his superior naval fleet. House Krowe has elevated hunters to archers in times of war also creating a new class of their military ranks.

House Thralon

King Alaric’s successor, King Lothar I Thralon, took the population that increased during his father’s time to focus on the development of putting it to work. Strengthening the basic construction of the city of Thraim, the working population have built strong walls of wood and stone around the capital for defense as well as strengthened the integrity of mines, ports, and homes. These fortifications and developments have made House Thralon's lands more defensible.
