Pfroggy1 Returning Maybe?

Even if you don't feel old, this makes us nerds feel old.

What is it, you may ask?

Well, 9 Years ago on Feb. 21, 2005, a little show called Avatar: The Last Airbender appeared on TV. Now 9 years later the series has had a spin-off, a crappy movie, various comics, and hundreds of cosplayers at Comic-Cons across the globe.

Just let that sink in... 9 years ago. What sad is I've seen every episode, but one in the original series, on or before it's premiere date.

I've seen every episode (and Avatar Extra episode) of the original series. I haven't read many of the comics. I've seen the movie. I have only seen the first episode of Korra, not because I don't like it but because of issues in viewing the show (in terms of accessibility and the time to see it).

I feel old. I feel it was just yesterday that I was with my older brother watching Nickelodeon to see an episode of Avatar for the sixth time. Apparently, it wasn't just yesterday.

Thanks.

I almost felt old, but then I remembered that nine years ago, I was eight. Fancy that.
All-in-all I don't feel that old, though I do feel that way sometimes when I think about my first pokemon game and whatnot.

Pshh. That doesn't make me feel old. At least all my friends know what A:TLA is.

I feel old knowing that, out of all my friends, I'm the only one who knows what dial-up internet sounded like.

I know the sound of the old 56k modem well.

I also used to use computers that didn't even have a single megabyte of ram, and used 5¼" floppies.

I miss old school frogger...

Mmmm, I remember well the sound of dial-up against my little ears. I was just remembering the other day how amazingly unbelievable it was when internet came out that didn't need the phone-line to work.

Also, the A:TLA doesn't actually make me feel that old. Somehow, the fact that the year 2004 was a decade ago hits a hell of a lot harder.

Oregon trail....

Or, for the zombie inclined... Organ Trail.

I still got a PC that runs on 16Kbytes of RAM, and ran at about 6 kilohertz.
I use it for flight-sims and DOS games, and actually using DOS.

how does this make you feel?

Atari and intellivision have been antiques and have been for over 15 years. Put that in your brain and let it ferment a bit, antique means it is 25 years or older.

mighty morphin power rangers if the show was a person is old enough to drink alcohol in america.

The first American godzilla movie is turning 16 years old this year.

The Titanic movie is turning 17 years old.

street fighter the movie is 19 years old as well as mortal kombat.

the last ps2 was released 9 years ago.

Nine years ago, I was starting Uni…

Man, I remember playing Berzerk (sic) on the Atari 2600… And then Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (see also: When Sonic was good) on the Mega Drive, playing straight through until around the Sky Chase Zone because saving on a game cartridge didn't exist yet. Never was able to beat it...

And I'm not even thirty…

I feel that this is relevant:

You'll need to try harder than that for me. I wasn't even ten when Avatar aired.

I don't think there is a day in my life that Pokemon wasn't a franchise that existed and internet wise I think I have been using a computer since I was five, at the time pretty much playing roller coaster tycoon and obsessively looking at pictures of roller coasters in the roller coasted data base. Also stumbled on a porn site at one point.

I also was playing Halo at the age of five. Never got past level three.

What makes this crazy to me is that like, my first memories are relating to 3D games and internet use and I think some people here may recall only getting stuff like 3D games and internet in their teens.
