Yuck. I've been trying to access the IC just to confirm my post went up, and it's only just started to respond again. Maybe the site has too many people trying to access it at once or something.

At least I've been able to get plenty of work done today :P

Looks like it let me post. I have a few ideas for things to do in the city, especially with the festival. I'm not sure how you intend for Ariel to learn and make decisions about the city, though I suppose the innkeeper could answer questions.

I'm not really sure what clothing styles would be like for Argonians in Black Marsh cities. The only thing I have to go off of is the Argonian clothing styles in ESO, which I guess would probably be similar.

Sounds good. I think I'll just have Ariel be on the lookout for things for the most part, but I think her priorities would be to find a house or a shop/house, and maybe finding suppliers for rarer ingredients. She also might be interested to know what kind of competition there is around the city and hopefully find needs to fill with the populace.

As for the clothing, I wouldn't know the first thing about it. I thought probably silks and cottons would be appropriate because of the weather, but as for styles, I don't know. Imperial or Dunmer maybe? I looked at a couple of screenshots of ESO, and they looked slightly inspired by native South American styles, but it was more armour than general clothing. Not to mention that ESO is set in the second era, so things might have changed. All in all, I'm not sure that it's really a big deal, go with whatever.

Light armor in ESO is clothing. Better versions are adorned with more embroidery and feathers.

You know, for Argonian clothing, that skirt looks like it would be really heavy to try and swim in. Bah, I shouldn't knitpick. It gives some perspective.

Urgh, a couple more busy days, then I'm free!... Free to study for my exams, that is -_- . At least I only have two of them this time around, so study probably won't force me into RP lockdown like it normally does with exam season. In any case, sparse posting is to be expected for tomorrow and the day after.

I don't really think it would be hard for an Argonian to swim in pretty much anything that wasn't way too heavy, though they probably wouldn't wear them to swim anyway. I doubt everything they wear would look identical to that, it's just a reference for the general style.

Never thought I would take a search function or a by-page navigation so much for granted. At least ctrl-f was helpful for finding the word 'cathay'.

I'll make a post in a bit, but before I forget, do you think Ariel should inform the pack about what exactly this festival is about? I imagine it would have come up while talking with Rukeewei.

Oh yeah, forgot to answer this question. It probably would have came up. I was thinking the point of the festival could be as a celebration of Thorn, officially, but in practice is just a way that they like to bring business and gold into the city. So it wouldn't have any real deep, cultural significance, just an extravagant week for visitors to enjoy. It seems like it fits with the overall aesthetic of the city.
