I made one of these on the old Guild, was just about finished when it crashed and I didn't have the text back up. But it was fun to stroll down memory lane and show a little bit of what I can and like to do. So I imagine I'll enjoy it again. I'll update as I have time.

In: "Our Darkness"

In a place between the worlds there is an “Inn” though some call it a spider’s web. It is a place of carefully groomed neutrality. It is a place of secrets and discretion were just about any service can be had, for a price. The spider who wove this web, the creature who maintains it is Gian. The rumors about her grow with every passing day, the limits of her powers are unnamed. A woman of great beauty and even greater secrets she was feared by most and respected by all.

So when a wounded Mala’ak, an angelic race whose feet did not easily meet the ground, walked into her Inn and wanted to hire her to fix his maimed wing, she could not resist taking up the impossible. What Gian promised, she delivered. Though even she with all her secrets and insight could not have predicted just what it would cost or what it would mean for her.

In: "Forward and Back"

A humble, widowed Algae farmer who had no idea what was coming when she woke to a crash early one morning. Born on a backwards technologically backwards planet with an oppressive corporation who all but owned every settler, Maddie had known nothing but hard work. But as she stepped out of her cabin to see what had woken her that fateful morning she saw that a space ship had landed in her latest Algae crop. As startling as it was she couldn’t look past the fact that with the destruction of her crop her last hope of ever getting out of debt died. Even stuck in the crushing reality of her hopes dying she helped the man who crashed into her life. However in helping the bright man with vivid eyes and startling hair, she set off a chain of events that would change everything and bring such color to her world that she would never be the same.

In: "Catchers"

Born with a silver spoon in her mouth she spit it out as soon as she could. Much to the disapproval of her Air-ship Magnate family she set out to become a Catcher. Catchers were a great many things but in a world populated with Monsters (creatures who exude an Etheric field that sets them apart from regular animals) they are the ones who study, catch and when needed kill the Monsters. From academic catchers who rarely leave the lab to rough and tumble field catchers who were as much thugs as they were professionals, Catchers were where the excitement was and that was what Lisbet wanted. She needed to get a reputation for herself so that she could sign on to a prestigious crew off to study Dragons, a dream of hers. But in hunting Mullabee’s (a low level-threat) she ran into a catcher very unlike herself, thug to her scholar. They did not much care for each other but circumstances conspired that they would need to work together to uncover a great scandal that would make or break their careers.

Iris was the Madame of the most exclusive brothel in town, "The Garden." and Rose was her beloved, protected daughter, groomed to become one of many blooms offered in the garden or so it seemed. But Iris was a woman with a shrouded past, so secret that even her daughter did not know. That past was hunting for them and though she was well hidden, Iris was about to be found. Protected equally by a young knight of surpassing virtue and deep honor and a man of dark cunning and ruthless violence it was uncertain if the two women would survive the storm that was coming.

Born of the purest D’haran blood, Isa was the first true Mord Sith in generations, the first since the current Lord Rahl had discovered the lost method of making them. It was not an easy process but Isa was honored by the choice and loyal to her Lord Rahl as all good D’haran’s were. So when she was instructed to find the first wizard and make him name a new seeker she did not question. She followed where she was told and when she came face to face with the strangely familiar grey-eyed blacksmith she was surprised to find herself faltering in her dedication, questioning her loyalties and considering disobeying her orders. But she was ever obedient to the wishes of her Lord Rahl and did as she was told. As a result, loyalties changed, her very world changed all for the better.

A gift out of control is a danger to the wizard as much as it is to the world. George’s gift was very much out of control when it burned down a city block. That she was allowed to live, was given a second chance meant that she wasn’t going to complain too much when she was shuffled off to meet her new master who would teach her to control the fire that lived inside her. But he wasn’t expecting her and moreover he wasn’t happy to have her there. But beggars couldn’t be choosers and she was determined that no one else would get hurt because of her lack of control. Control was not exactly what she found as she faced off against a nest of red-court vampires who developed a taste for her blood.

In: "Sacrifice"

Born to die, she was raised as a sacrifice to heal the land in times of need. Well the time has come and the cloistered priestess begins her journey to the capitol to lay down her life for the king so that the land will flourish. She does not make it. Her caravan is captured and she winds up in the hands of barbarians and she learns at their hands that to die is easy, it is to live that is painful and hard. When she meets the strange-eyed man among the Savages they both learn that not all kings wear crowns.

In: "Scarlet Nights"

A foul mouthed, hard nosed FBI agent who doesn't know when to quit. When prostitutes kept going missing and the local authorities were washing their hands of it, claiming that it was just part of the business, she took matters into her own hands. Playing at Bait she managed to hook the fish, but what she caught was a whole lot larger than she had anticipated, the perp was a freaking Vampire. Strangely resistant to his hypnosis he'd caught more than he'd anticipated. In the conflict that followed she crossed paths with another set of authorities who were after the same man, a pair of brothers who were as ruthless as they were thorough and in their minds she was a loose end that needed tying.

In: "There's No Place Like Home."

A good girl from a bad home, Beth was doing everything right but nothing was working. Her brother, the indulged child of the family and his best friend had been made to join the military or face jail and when he brother was discharged he came home and found even more trouble. Killed in some drug related violence his death shattered her mother's fragile sanity leaving Beth with stacks of bills and a shut in Mother who could no longer fit through the doorways of the house. She was working herself into an early grave trying to balance three jobs and school when the long deployed best-friend of her brother showed up on her doorstep, after that, everything changed.
