You know what's funny though?

I'd enjoy an arena like the one that Skalla described, I'd be able to enter some of my more detailed and aggressive characters.

While I like the balance here, I miss using my favorite characters.

Woow, things got hostile in here quick. LeeRoy's right though. Starting tier is 4. No more than that. You can work your way up to full strength, but you cant start anywhere close to it. Quality of fighters going down. Way to be pretentious about it too.

Also, I would totally like to add that LeeRoy and I could give anyone in here a run for their money. Or I'd like to think so anyway

Oh I am sure you and LeeRoy are capable. But the arena before was a much more...geared toward bring what you have and see if you can beat what I bring. It allowed more freedom less reliant on rules to balance things out for less capable fighters.

See, that sounds like a good time! I'd do it. I dont see why this thread is the only Arena thread that has to exist. Its an RP site, things dont have to be so "Take it or Leave it"

Yeah, but this forum also seems to let things die if they aren't comfortable with them. I tried to start one where it would be more aggressive, but that died in a week or so.

If someone wanted to start an Arena where it was more bare knuckles drag out fights, I would support it.

Godlike powers are no indication of a good fighter. I've seen (and faced) demigods who couldn't out-fight a human with a pistol and humans with pistols who can slaughter demigods. To put it bluntly, I find the notion that power levels are indicative of the quality of a fighter to be ludicrous at best. In my experience, the opposite is usually true. Poor fighters tend to try and compensate for their lack of skill by creating characters with huge levels of power in order to simply bulldoze the fighters that are better than themselves and possess less power (it rarely works). You can claim all the power you want, but if you have no clue how to use it effectively then it won't count for squat.

Also: please don't take this the wrong way and assume that I think all people with near-godlike characters are poor fighters, as I don't. I just find Seed's implication kind of insulting and had to get this off my chest. Carry on.

Unskilled fighters with tons of powers get destroyed. You are correct however Seed is correct as well since he was last here the shift from T1 fighters realistic/mp/p has gone to a more casual fighter. Thats all
