Kit could understand that he didn't want to go to the festival. It made sense that he didn't want to deal with the police. She had only brought it up because it had caught her attention. Why hold a festival if there were thieves on the loose? "I just found it odd they would hold a festival at a time like this." she replied with a shrug. She glanced around the room when he mentioned it. Cheap motel or not, it still was somewhere they might look for goods.

She let out an impressed whistle when he made a necklace out of ice. It looked pretty detailed for a decoy. She reached over and touched the 'gem' with her finger. A little electricity hidden inside and it sparkled even more brightly than before. "If I didn't know better I'd think that was one very expensive diamond necklace." she said grinning up at him. Following the necklace would be a somewhat simple task. Finding somewhere to put the necklace and not getting caught tracking it? Easier said than done.

A smirk moved across Gray’s face. She seemed like she was in for the plan but she didn’t quite know what she was getting herself into. “Great. A diamond on a crystal chain it’s bound to grab some attention if it was hanging slightly out of a purse of a rich woman, or she happened to take it off in order to try on another necklace and leaves it sticking out of her purse.”

A knock echoed on the door and Gray got up from the bed. Strolling causally to the door he opened it to see a grinning desk clerk holding a blanket out. “Here you are you love birds.” The young man said as Gray took the blanket. “Thanks,” was a simple response from Gray before he practically slammed the door in the guy’s face.

Spreading the blanket out he grabbed one of the four pillows from the bed and tossed it on the ground. “Get some sleep Kit, it’s going to be a long day tomorrow.” He said with a nod as he pulled his jacket off and yanked his shirt from over his head and fell down on the floor. Within moments he was snoring.

-----

The next morning they were out early and Gray dragged her to a clothing store and went from isle to isle grabbing pieces of clothing to turn Kit into a spoiled rich kid, “Come on, it can’t be that bad.” Gray called out after he shoved Kit into the dressing room with an armful of clothes. “Something in there’s got to fit what we’re looking for. Just step out, let me see! You’ve got to sell it.”

Kit sighed heavily knowing she was going to be the one carrying the decoy necklace. She hadn't signed up for this. However the idea of Gray trying to pass as a spoiled rich brat was did make her snicker. She shook her head and curled up on the bed. It was obvious that Gray was going to sleep on the floor tonight. She did laugh though when he slammed the door in the clerk's face. "Smooth ice boy, real smooth." she said shaking her head.

The next morning was utter confusion and chaos for her. Gray had dragged her to a clothing shop in hopes of making her look the part. She stumbled slightly when he shoved her, armful of clothes, into a dressing room. She tried on a few things before finally settling on a nice almost ice blue dress. "I'm not sure about this Gray." she said stepping out.

All they needed to do was add a bit of makeup and she'd be set. She blushed a little but spun in a circle slowly for him. The dress made her look exactly like some rich snob while also making her look really pretty. "D-does it look ok?" she asked after a moment.

Gray leaned up against a nearby wall. He refused to sit down in one of the chairs and look like a lazy guy who got drug along by his girlfriend. Sighing softly, he ran a hand through his midnight blue hair as he watched the happy people shop and chuckle among themselves. These guys look innocent enough. He thought to himself. The thieves seemed to be more focused on stealing from those who have already made purchases. So the likeliness of them stealing from a store is little to none.

His head jerked to the door when he heard the stammering of his guild member. For a moment he didn’t say anything due to the fact that he felt like he had to process what was before him. After a moment, a smirk befell his lips. “You look like a girl.” His tone was teasing and playful as he held out his hands. “Price tags please. You’re wearing that out and going straight to work. Make the show count.” He said with a nod. “I won’t follow you out so be on your guard but know I’ll be close by and watching.”

Kit had noticed the many happy couples in the store and around the area. All of them seemed blissfully unaware that at any moment they could be robbed. She sighed and shook her head as she watched Gray's reaction. He seemed stunned at the sight of her in a dress. She wondered what was going on through his head. Probably concocting a plan of how to use this moment to the best of their abilities.

When he spoke she could hear the teasing in his voice. It was true she dressed more like a tomboy than a girly girl. Skirts and dresses just weren't her thing. They were hard to fight in and the extra fabric could get caught on something. She took the price tag off the dress and was a little surprised that it wasn't an obscene amount. She then handed the tag over. "Yeah and you've got ice for brains if you didn't realize that before." she said returning the teasing playful tone back. "Don't worry Gray, I can handle myself even without the use of lightning-make."

“It’s not my fault.” Gray called out with a wave of his hand not holding the price tag. “When you don’t do anything girly you tend to forget someone’s a gender instead of just a guild member.” He shrugged with his steps as he arrived at the counter and paid for the outfit.

Soon they were on the streets; Gray trailing stepped behind her, stopping at shops to ‘look over items’ and keeping himself as nonchalant as possible. Following missions weren’t exactly his best trait but he was better at it then the loud-mouths of the guild. Hopefully someone would take the bait from the prissy looking Kit. But as of right now, all he could do was follow her.

Kit did her best to act as much like a spoiled rich kid as she could. She knew Gray was right though. She didn't act or dress girly. So faking it was proving to be rather tricky for her. She said little as she searched one of the booth that had jewelry in it. Carefully she put the necklace down to try on one of the items the clerk said would look amazing on her.

No sooner had she put the necklace down someone swiped it and bolted into the crowd. She let out a startled cry acting like her prized possession had been stolen. None of the police seemed to respond but she was certain Gray would recognize the noise. He had been following her pretty closely. "That happened faster than I thought it would. I think we did a bit too good of a job on the necklace..." she muttered under her breath. Now They just had to follow the thief through the crowd to his hideout. Assuming they would take the bait there immediately.

It was, well, actually humorous to watch Kit act so girly girl considering how out of character it was for her. And just as they had predicted, the necklace was snatched. Though her screams didn’t draw too much attention, the panic pulled others to protect their stuff more wisely and soon Gray met up with her. “Good job rookie.” He said in a teasing fashion with a nod. “Let’s go.” Soon they were off.

The chase took them through the woods behind the city and to a log cabin. As the two hid inside the bushes a few meters back he whispered to her. “So, there are a couple different options on how we can get inside. First would be guns blazing, second is stealth and third is wait. We wait until the rest of the group comes back. With the commotion you caused I’m sure the group will be reconvening shortly to discuss further actions. What do you think?”

Kit had a little trouble following after him in the dress. She was glad the plan had worked and that they could now hunt down the thieves. She could tell though from how he spoke that he found it hilarious that she had to act completely outside her element as a spoiled rich girl. In her mind she probably looked like a complete idiot.

She hid in the bushes with him and listened to the options. Running the scenarios through her head she sighed and looked back over at him. "Running in guns blazing would draw too much attention and possibly get us killed so that option is out of the question. We could wait but who knows how long it could be before anything happens." she said glancing through the leaves. "In all honesty I think stealth might be our best option. We wouldn't draw too much attention and we can at least scope out the thieves that are there. Maybe even find out some more about who they are and why they're doing this. That sound alright with you Gray?"

“Who they are and why they are doing what they are doing shouldn’t be our concern.” He said sternly. “We were all raised to know what is right and what is wrong. Hell even Natsu who was raised by a dragon knows right and wrong. Courtesy is for the courts to decide, not for us.” A nod rose and fell his head as he rose to his feet. “But if you feel bad guys deserve a chance of understanding I guess I have no choice but to give it a chance too.” Gesturing towards the cabin he explained further.

“There’s a front and back entrance along with two windows around the building. The only thing that is different in comparison to other locations is the fact that there is a chimney.” His deep blue eyes rose to look up towards the top of the house. “So, with choosing the stealth route; how would you like to go about this?”

Kit looked at the building a moment. If they wanted to get inside they would need to pick one of the options. She wasn't sure about the chimney since they could get stuck or there would be a fire at the bottom. The doors were another option but the thieves might have some sort of password in place. "I'd say the windows. The doors might require us to give the people inside a password which we don't know. As for the chimney we could get stuck trying to go down it." she explained.

While she wasn't sure why these guys had resorted to thievery she wasn't sure they deserved the benefit of doubt. They obviously were aware that at some point their actions would get them in trouble. "Look, I'm not saying they deserve a simple slap on the wrist for this. But they also don't exactly deserve us beating them within an inch of their lives either. Like you said, their punishment is for the courts to decide. Our job is just to catch them and turn them in." With that said she began sneaking her way towards one of the windows. Hopefully they were unlocked.

A smirk moved across Gray’s face as he watched her work her way towards the building. Good, she had a good head on her shoulders. That would be important to her survival as a hired wizard along with making it through Fairy Tail in one piece. Everyone had their own bit of crazy and he was no different but that doesn’t mean someone who just joins should be completely nuts. A little nuts is important but completely is just too much; they had Natsu for that and didn’t need anyone else to attempt to follow in his footsteps.

Gray followed along behind her being her lookout as they approached the window. Slowly, he peaked inside, the coast was clear and he gave her a small nod before reaching up and gently checking the window. It opened with ease before he stepped away, allowing her to get in first while he kept a look out. You can never be too careful dealing with thieves.

Kit slid in the window and quietly landed on her feet. The coast was clear for now. She glanced left and right before waving her hand to Gray that he could follow.

From the looks of it they had landed in a supply closet. Boxes of food, lockpocks, random pieces of furniture, and a few tools littered the room. She put her ear to the door to listen. She could hear maybe four people shuffling around. "They're on the other side of the door. Once we open it, get ready to start knocking heads." She said as she lit up her hand with lightning.

She could stun them but only long enough for gray to form a cage or pin them to the ground with ice. Whatever worked in preventing the thieves from running. "Lets show these boneheads what we're made of ice boy."
